Technically, the first Xbox exclusive was released at launch called Gears Tactics. They will also have more in the second half of 2021 than Sony which will most likely be nothing.

I mean there's no point in doing that now all of a sudden, should've happened back in 2018 when they started development on the game. The game is technically still designed around the PS4 (the base console), suddenly making it a PS5 exclusive won't change anything.
 
Most obvious delay ever.
Games, specially AAA ones, that get announced with nothing but a logo usually aren't ready to ship within a year. Even more so when they then go into radio salience without as much as some concept art to show.

If I had to guess it will be late 2023 at the earliest.
 
Wait a minute, it was scheduled in 2021? It was clear as day 2021 was out of the question, we haven't seen nothing in-game yet. I'm surprised they fixed the release date so early.

At the end of the day, I'd rather it take longer and be great, SSM is a great dev team and I am completely confident they will deliver an amazing game. Their record speaks for itself. It does suck it got delayed, but honestly no biggie for me either as maybe by then I'll care enough to pick up a PS5.

The only pleasure I get from all of this is just the salty ass Sony fanboys that were running around with that big-dick energy that just had their sails deflated.

It helps to stay grounded and not get too attached to a brand. Just enjoy the games that come out when they come out. Looking forward to seeing the game running around E3. Should be awesome.

Lol I predicted this way back when it was announced. This was a classic early announcement by Sony to get people hyped up for the PS5
 
Delay was expected, but the PS4 version holding everything back absolutely sucks. Game is still going to look impressive though
 
What's interesting here (and mostly ignored because of the God Of War news) is that Horizon 2 will "maybe" make 2021 according to Hulst. Anyone who has half a brain, or has heard execs talk in the past realizes this means "The game is not fucking coming out this year, but we'll give you hope, thinking we're working extra hard to make it happen". Which is OK, but it's definitely a pre-cursor for a delay.

I had people mad at me when I said this game would either be a cross gen game or delayed. Even I didn't see BOTH happening. HAHAHA Yet here we are.

If they are delaying it is because it was a 2021 title.

If it was a 2022 title like you says why bother with delay?

What I am saying is Sony is clearly full of it. Already in their announcement of this they were hinting that this was done to prevent crunch. And it's disingenuous, because that has nothing to do with this delay, and we all know it.

Not sure why you're reacting that way.

It was a mere spin on your take. Maybe if you expanded further I may not have given you a reaction fitting of what you lacked in context to your statement.

That imo is a pretty scummy move by sony. I get that games have been unfortunatly delayed due to covid but there was no way this game was ever releasing 2021. It was meant to release in 6 months and we havnt even had a screenshot or video of gameplay.

Clearly it was to sell more consoles and prevent people from switching.
 
But the game looked almost finished when we saw the teaser. Had a font and a title and everything

I do not hate that it is delayed. I expected it!

I do hate that it's coming out for ps4 as well. Looks like the ps5 will be gimped again by catering to the ps4 crowd. I thought by 2022 they would get away from this cross platform release. Sony looking like microsoft now.

Agreed. You want to delay it go ahead and delay it, as long as it's a PS5 game and it helps you make full use of it.

But if you're releasing it on PS4 as well, just release it now.
 
Well, it sucks but to be expected. 2022 will be similar 2018, and I'm looking forward to it. Just give us a gameplay teaser this year.
