I think Destroyah is random but not Jet Jaguar.
Jet Jaguar has a hilarious moveset. His R2 is amazing.

I think I got the "true" ending (or a least one that had cinematics). Hit 100m with Godzilla and the final level
As anyone else had a different ending that had a cutscene?
I became Burning Godzilla. Military showed up in force with X3. Eventually they announced another kaiju approaching, was expecting Destroyah but it was 2014 Godzilla instead. Beat 2014, then the cutscene started with BG going into meltdown. They froze him, Kiryu picked him up and dumped him at the bottom of the ocean.
As anyone else had a different ending that had a cutscene?
So 100m is the requirement for the final level, not intel?
Is that how you unlock the 4th Godzilla variant? I have 3 so far.

Dude, Terror of Mechagodzilla is my favorite Showa film and even I don't care that Titanosaurus isn't in the game. He got a Kaiju Guide entry, that's good enough.
Intel gets you into the locked four stages on the right, being over 100m after completing the second locked stage gets you to the far right final locked stage, which is the Burning Godzilla fight.

LOL While collecting intel is kinda fun, it actually makes the game harder as the humans are getting data for fighting Godzilla.

Fought him once but was playing as Anguirus. It went badly to say the least. You need ranged attacks I think.

I think its a combination of height and intel. My Data percentage is at 79%
Have you done the fight multiple times? Is it always
Godzilla 2014?
This makes me even more frustrated that I wound up at 98.98 last night after unlocking the four extra stages.

The final stage is height, but you need 50% intel to unlock the four locked stages before it.

Reminds me of the really cheap Kamen Rider games like Climax Heroes and Battride War, look and run horribly, but have boatloads of fanservice and a ton of characters...

70% intel does unlock something, I'm not sure what though. I think it might
replace Super Mechagodzilla with Kiryu Mechagodzilla in the penultimate stage.

Battride War is fun, the second one was meh. I didn't like the lack of non neo-heisei secondaries and the Gaim additions (since Gaim was the worst toku I've seen).

They are unlockable in-game.
That was my guess as well. At about 60% right now.
It's just an early unlock for 14. 64 is added in the day 1 patch.

It's the Dark Souls for 'Zilla and Kaiju fans.
It tells you in the first stage after the tutorial that intel unlocks something. It also tells you that roaring powers up your specials.
Yeah, I've done it four times and it's always him.
I've run into him four or five times, but he's always 100m and his basic combo is incredibly powerful and puts you in stunlock at the end long enough for him to begin it again. Battra Larva has a similar bullshit ability.

They're pretty tough to use until you upgrade their charge speed significantly. They're not brawlers, so you have to rely on distance attacks as much as possible. Kiryu is probably the most well rounded of the four.

I actually assumed roaring was meant to be a buff or something. Maybe I just misread but the wording seemed ambiguous in the tutorial.

But yes, despite the first Battride War having all the secondaries as pretty detailed NPC models (with their own attacks and such), the fact they didn't use ANY OF THEM was disappointing. Besides the Gaim characters, the only fully new character was that fucking samurai from the OOO movie.
The Climax Heroes though has like all of them, and even lots of the tertiary and on Riders.
You only start with Godzilla. You have to unlock the rest buy beating them in a fight and then buying them.
EDF is still around and it fits that description to a tee. I can't wait for 4.1 this fall.

No, it's only the last kaiju and I believe one random one. If you cheese it, it could be faster than playing through destruction for parts.

Man this game is getting slaughtered in reviews from the sites and huge youtubers. I won't lie, I was worried when I picked it up. I freaking love it, yeah it's ugly at times, somewhat repetitive but it's a blast in a simplistic way. Really brings back some old school gaming feels.
I had the same ending. I was legit shook when
Godzilla 2014 showed up. I was totally assuming it was going to be Destroyah since they were basically doing the finale to that movie

I'm quite happy, recently unlocked Anguirus.
I tried King of Kaiju with the first Godzilla (not 1964) got my ass kicked on the second battle.
Enter Anguirus, and I was able to finish all 6 fights. I know he's weak compared to the other monster but I've always liked him.
My family was laughing their asses off when they heard it was a Godzilla game I bought.

Overall, my complaints would be...
1) most of the map sizes feel too small. It's so enjoyable destroying buildings, to see so much untouchable city becomes frustrating. Apparently they were even smaller in the PS3 version? Yikes
2) We all have our missing favorites from the roster but not having Megalon, Titanosaurus, one version of 70s Godzilla and King Ceasar hurts. Especially when we do have several other monsters from that era (74 and 75 MechaGodzilla, Hedorah, Jet Jaguar and updated FW Gigan).
3) Why is there no Free Battle Mode vs the CPU? I want the ability to pick a map and have 3 way fights offline. King of Kaiju is not a replacement for this type of mode.
4) Local coop and VS modes would have been amazing
These issues were born from, I assume, a lack of budget and time. Those things aside, you can see the dev team's passion for Godzilla shine through. They're fans of the character and created something for fellow fans. They wanted to recreate the feel of the movies and they fucking nailed it. In that regard, this game is a success in my eyes and totally worth the price tag. This is going to be very much like Generations in that it gets poor to middling reviews but will be beloved by fans years down the road. A Godzilla Simulator (as in true to the films) is never going to be enticing to casual fans or reach mass appeal, at least not without a larger budget and better production values. For what this is and the constraints under which it was developed, Godzilla PS4 is great experience for superfans and is at least worth a rental for anyone who's enjoyed the movies.
