I came from a 6, and I love it, to the point where I don't think I could ever go back to Apple (unless they made some radical improvements).
This was my first Android, so there was a bit of a learning curve, but almost every feature that I missed from Apple (such as notification badges) can be put onto this thing with an App. The amount of customization and personalization here is incredible. Everything about it can be tailored to your style. I Googled "Top 10 Android Apps/Launchers/Widgets" to get started, and it was awesome. I downloaded a new texting app to replace the stock Android one that lets me do so much more (such as choose my emoji style from Android/iOS/Twitter/ETC, or delay texts sending for a couple seconds in case I notice a mistake, or change the colors of the bubbles, etc). I also downloaded a new launcher, basically a new visual OS that has a ton of cool features. Widgets are actually useful here too, in that they work as you'd hope (you can just put widgets on your home screen, instead of them being awkwardly brushed off to a different screen).
Having said that, I'd be lying if I said there aren't a couple things that I miss about Apple, and almost all of them have to do with sheer ease of use. For example, I'm not a big fan of how volume control is handled here. There are three sliders for ring, media, and alarm volume, and it's not super clear what happens to the others when you put one down completely. For example, on an iPhone you can have the phone on silent, but when you have headphones in, things like text notifications are still audible. I'm sure that's still possible here, but it's a bit of a hassle to get to, and requires more fidgeting.
Also, I travel abroad a lot for work, and turning off data for certain apps is way more obtuse, and way less clear here than it is on Apple. I just want a screen with all my apps, and literally an on/off switch for data for each one. This makes it a bit more complicated than that.
Lastly, the volume output on the Pixel is noticeably more quiet than my iPhone 6, and I don't like that at all. I tried downloading some app to boost the volume (Speakerboost), but it didn't seem to do anything. If anyone has a solution they know works, let me know. I just want it to bump up by like 10%.
Those are nitpicks in the grand scheme of things, though. By and large, the Pixel is an incredible phone, and I'm all aboard the Android train now too. I'm very happy with the purchase.
