I'd really like to try this but I have a hard time wrapping my head around paying £9.99 a month for it.
Can some one put this into perspective for me?
So when is HTML 5 going to work again?
It seems no one but us cares.
A search for html5 google play music returns no results in the past 2 weeks unless my google-fu is failing me![]()
Under the settings there's a lab section, and that lets you enable html5, which I think has been working for me without any issues.
Or are you guys talking about something else?

The lab setting exists, but if you check you are using Flash. If you disable flash you get a flash missing message. I just wish they told you outright that the lab does not do anything at the moment. After further searching, I found this:

What are the advantages of HTML 5 over the current Flash iteration?
(I know nothing about these things.)
Presumably, Flash is buggy and uses up more resources.
I haven't experienced a single problem with it, but GAF hates Flash.
Ah, okay.
It does load up a little slow on first visit to the webpage, but other than that I haven't had any glaring problems with it either.
Anyone know what the deal is with Google Music and compilations? I'm looking at a few 3 disc comps and they only list like 20 tracks out of 60.
If you click 'Buy' you can buy the whole 3 disc set. That's not really why I'm fucking paying you £9.99 a month Google. Christ.
The Verge said:Google Play Music has long been a solid option for uploading and accessing your music collection wherever you are, but using the Music Manager app to actually get your songs into the cloud wasn't always the smoothest or most intuitive process. However, a new feature tucked away in the experimental "labs" section of Play Music should make this process a lot easier — users can now upload whatever music they want straight through the browser using simple drag-and-drop. If the songs are matched with Google's vast music library, they'll be added automatically; otherwise they're simply uploaded.
In addition to uploading through the browser, users can also select a number of folders that the service will monitor and grab music from whenever it detects new songs are added to it. Your entire music library can also be downloaded through the web interface, as well, which essentially removes the need for the old Music Manager app.
Google says it built this new feature with the technology that powers its new Chrome Apps platform, which lets it build more complex, standalone apps compared to the older Chrome web apps. As such, there's a new Google Play Music mini-player app that shows up in your Chrome apps launcher (assuming you have it enabled). It lets you pause, skip forward or back, assign thumbs-up or thumbs down to songs, and displays the cover art — if you're listening to a playlist, its a pretty easy way to control your listening experience without having to flip back to your full browser window.

All told, it's a good improvement to the Play Music service — it'll be probably be most useful to those uploading and managing a collection of purchased music rather than using Google's All Access subscription option, though those customers will see the benefits of the mini-player as well as easier uploads for music that isn't in All Access. Google says that it'll roll these features out to all users soon, but you can turn it on now in the "labs" section of the settings menu if you don't want to wait.
Music isn't the only Google Play feature getting a tweak today. Google Play’s "info cards" feature — which lets those watching a movie pause playback to get additional information about the actor in a given scene — is coming to the first three seasons of Game of Thrones. The feature is already available for over a thousand movies on Google Play, but it’s the first time the company is offering it for a television show; all the better for those anxiously binge-watching Thrones in anticipation of the new season premiere on April 6th.
Anyone still using this compared to Spotify and Rdio?
I really dig the interface more than Spotify and love that it mixes my own music rather than have it all web based like Rdio
But with Spotify offering 4.99 for students...idk man
Also I wish I could use my pause/play/forward/backward buttons on my Mac with it![]()
I still use Google Play Music despite the higher price because of the library functionality and because it's so easy to download a bunch of music to my phone for offline listening.
That said this new mini player needs a bit more work: The mini player needs to be the active window for the buttons to be responsive, the thumbs up/down buttons look a bit goofy and I don't like them obscuring the album art and like killertofu says the Mac keyboard media buttons still don't work.

Unfortunately I don't think there's any way web apps can access those keys, even Chrome apps.

I believe this should work actually:

I use it, and love it. I've tried pretty much all of the services and All Access is one of my favorites. The Spotify deal is tempting, but there's no library functionality (just playlists, on mobile at least), and most services don't have something similar to the Listen Now functionality that All Access does, which I utilize ALL THE TIME.
I'm dumb. How do I get that mini player?

What do you mean, the "listen now"?
Right now I'm not paying for any service. I have a TON of music stored on Google but I like the functionality of Spotify where it recommends bands after you listen to a certain one...
THe starting page where it shows you albums, playlists, and radios you listened to recently, recommends new mixes and albums, stuff like that. I tend to listen to the same few albums for a little while before I move on so it's great to have them right there instead of going through artists -> albums, etc. It's one of the most important features for me.
I don't understand, are you pinning albums, but only a few songs are downloading to the phone (and stay available online) or are just some songs from albums being pinned to your phone, but you want all songs pinned?Does anyone go to listen to pinned content in their collection and find lots of incomplete albums? I had no reason to download a mere two songs or only 3/4 of an album I really like. Almost never had this problem when I was on Mog but it's 9 out of 10 albums in Play Music. Annoying.

I pin an album to listen to another time. Maybe days or weeks later I decide to have a listen on my commute and find that only some songs downloaded. I think the queue pauses and gets wiped, perhaps if I move from one network to another (start downloads on home WIFI and then go to work). All I know is it must have never resumed again and has happened frequently to me.
So sonos is now supported which is great news. My wife is still using iOS so Chromecast wasnt cutting it for her. This gives both of us the option to stream music to speakers
Can you give specifics here? Slow as in not instant? Just tested and search takes a second on mine.Biggest issue with the android app, is that search is beyond slow. I have no idea why it takes soooooo long to get a result.
I just tried the new spotify app and pulling up a search was beyond anything this app can do. What a crock of shit.
Spent the last few days doing a little chrome extension which works as a remote for Google Music.
Hi guys.
Spent the last few days doing a little chrome extension which works as a remote for Google Music.

It's not yet published since I've been trying to fix all bugs and weirdness here and there. I would very much appreciate if anyone installed it and gave me feedback since this is the final RC before I fully publish it.
