I'd love to go, but I'd need to find someone to go with. I don't think I know anyone who listens to them...

What should I do!?

go on your own, I am twice in two different cities :)

Um... I haven't really gone to many concerts before, and I've always gone with people. Do people go on their own a lot? Is it fun enough on your own? I really want to go, so I might break down and do it either way! :D

Much better with peeps. Can talk about the performance when you go back.

Yeah, I'd imagine so, but like I said earlier I'm pretty sure none of my friends listen to Gorillaz beyond like hearing Feel Good on the radio...

lot's of people do, if you feel uncomfortable don't get there early, just get there when the warm up bands are starting, head to the bar grab a beer, there wont be much awkwardness for you!

Totally didn't see this til now Stryder!

Yeah got my tickets 9am the morn' they went on sale! Adelaide and Melbourne

How well have these shows been selling? Tickets for Chicago begin for the general public Friday, but the presale starts Monday. I don't make much, so I'm shooting for the cheap seats. Would there be a lot of those available by the time the presale ends? Usually it's the upclose seats that go first, but at 50 bucks a pop, it might be the reverse, who knows. I just REALLY want to see Damon and Co.

Not picked up his newest album yet, but have heard a couple songs so far (liked them) and own everything up to date (album-wise), so with that being said, is this recent album a "100% safe bet" type purchase?

I just got this today, actually. Still trying to feel my way through it. It's not as immediate a classic as Demon Days was, but I am digging it.

Got a pair of VIP tix for Chicago! If it's seated, I'm 6th row center. Wooo!

I wanted a flip video package but I couldn't get 'em. Oh well, still so very excite.

That's a pretty dope beat. Anyways their next TV appearance is on Letterman (Albarn seems to love coming on Letterman) on Thursday.

I got tickets in the sixth row too for Chicago :lol

I'm flying all the way from Jacksonville, FL to see them that weekend.

Picked up the vinyl from Amazon and it is fantastic. The vinyl sleeves look awesome in it.

Oh man, Doncamatic's such a great song. Awesome add-on to the perfection that is Plastic Beach.

Last Sunday, the show was awesome! Really, really well-done! The musicians were really good and Damon was on fire! :D

Set list?

Was it all Plastic Beach or a mix?

Seeing them in December :D

Was a mix list but it's mostly Plastic Beach stuff. Really good though. It opens up with Welcome to Plastic Beach with Snoop Dog on-screen 'singing' with the live orchestra. Had a blast.

It's the same setlist they are playing at each spot. Same exact one for Boston. They must have a specific order to the videos they play.

No it isn't. Most of it is the same, but last night was the first time they did Some Kind of Nature since Glastonbury, and I think LA is the only other place that Miho Hatori is supposed to be with them.

A quick glance at the Boston setlist shows that they didn't do Some Kind of Nature or Sweepstakes there, but they did do O Green World (before Stylo) and Kids With Guns (in the spot that Some Kind of Nature was in).

Supposedly they also had Hong Kong, All Alone, and Punk on the setlist for last night but never actually played them. I don't know how valid that information is, though, but I've seen it stated in a couple of places.

But yes, it is about 90% the same.

Hong Kong will of course be played in Hong Kong but I'm hoping they play it at some of the US tour dates. Specifically, the Oakland and/or LA shows (the ones I'm going to).

They were on Letterman tonight. I think it's stupid that Mick Jones agreed to do this tour, because all he does is kind of hop around with a dumb grin on his face, not playing guitar at all while the other kid plays the actual guitar lines. This big huge tour that a zillion people are gonna see, and he's not in the mix at all, looking old and irrelevant. It's bullshit.

I don't know about him 'not doing anything' but yeah it's sad to see him look so behind compared to the rest. This is muthafucking Mick Jones we're talking about.

Paul Simonon was killing it on the bass as usual. Dude's still good.

Wait, are all those guests actually touring with them for real? I assumed it would just be the core group with maybe Womack, and just voice tracks for the rest...

Either way, getting my tix for chicago! AAAH! Cant wait! Not floor for VIP seats, but it will be great nonetheless!

Yep. Womack, Mos Def, Little Dragon, De La Soul, the dudes/orchestra that do White Flag, the girl that does Dare were all there at the Camden show.

CHICAGO-GORILLAZ-GAF!

My friend and I are about to embark on an retarded journey of epic proportions.
Aka drive to chicago from cincinnati and spending money we shouldn't be because we are young and want to see the Gorillaz before they dissappear/die for 5 years.

Is there any chance you guys would have a place for us to crash? Just me and one other friend, we are very polite, won't be rowdy in any way, and will play starcraft 2 with you if necessary.

PM me if you can let us crash for saturday night?

Afro M Night, OUT.
