These developers are so retarded. I am so tired of it. No defending this shit. The demo was not great and I was not really excited for the game anyways. Now it is a solid pass. No game should require a mod to fix ugly women. They should not be ugly from the start. I guess there have not been nearly enough layoffs.

You know what the medieval days had? Ugly, tough-looking people including women. Commoners from that time worked in agriculture, milling, textile production, hauling water, tending livestock, gathering fuel and died at 40 during childbirth (their 7th). They may not have had a skincare, but they had more testosterone than your sweaty ass. I'd say, this remake seems pretty realistic in that regard, but I'm not the kind to have a meltdown because of the neck circumference of a pixel character. Just get Brazzers platinum and cancel gamepass, you're clearly on the wrong medium.

As someone who loved Gothic for its immersion, I am totally off-put it had to turn into this sort of disaster where if you say what you think they say fuck off.

Well, fuck them. Good riddens.

And btw, the original version sold on GOG or Steam, works incredible with mods, in a OG RE4 tank controls way, you can patch the framerate up too, it's a great time if you can get past the dated aspects of the game for sure. Probably better than the remake will turn out.

I remember the top pic, which was the PR material they gave to the press I guess, but I can't remember women being a big part of anything in the actual game. I guess some Conan the Barabarian like women design might be A-okay for many boys, but imo having stripper bitches inside an otherwise rather grounded realistic world does not really work well. Devs can do whatever they want but Gothic's world does not necessarily need modern versions of the original designs.

It looks like it is derived from the source material, especially the facial features. There are "woke" neck sizes? Seems like a forced reactionary take.

Yes, as my text above already says. duh? Mud was probably a bigger character than any other woman, I remember him.

Might be incomplete but as I said females were not even a big thing in Gothic:

Edit: "rather grounded" is of course relative in a world with magic and orcs, but compared to argonians and khajit (and vampires) being actually a big part of everything in TES and females everywhere too, Gothic is rather human and male centric, did not lean so heavy in every fantasy element possible.

Only time i could look past it(ofc i made fun of it and posted online a lot pointing it out) somehow and buy woke remaster/remake at launch was d2r, it had woke/masculine female characters but it still was great game and they are not there in cinematics+ durning gameplay they are very small + tons happening on screen so u can forget about that nasty change few seconds after u make the character.

In game like gothic u gonna have to see those tranny looking npcs up close/talk to them so it will be breaking the immersion right away- total dealbreaker.

Which means even such a longterm fan(atic) of the gothic series(yes, i am pole and i need eurojank in my veins, its part of my dna like vodka and pierogi's after all) wont buy this at launch nor ever :(
 
And now they are trapped. If they change it they are giving in to heterosexual men. Thats a major problem, as it sets a precedent that we matter most. Their overlords wouldn't like that. Always remember guys "The Force is female".

It's what i like about american gamers, the devs can actually get away with 80% of the wokeness but the ugly female characters are a no-go, there are always people that will stand watch

Embracer won't have it that easy this time around. With a game like KCD2 you had to play it if you wanted to experience the next chapter of Henry's story, even if you didn't like the sudden gay romance or how Musa's character was handled. With Gothic you always have the original (with mods), not to mention there are going to be ports of Gothic 1-3 for the consoles (unless they censor & change them as well).

And the interested group is much smaller, which means pissing them off will be reflected more on the overall sales.

You realize that exactly my point? Those are games. Some will have nicely modeled pixel asses to excite the clique of nerds who jerk off to videogames while sweating on a PU leather ergonomic gaming chair. Some will have black samurais. Others will have ugly women as leads. And who gives a fuck? I certainly don't, if the game is good; I'm definitely in the right medium, games are as awesome as they've ever been.

I always enjoy the "real men like their women to look like men" argument. Of course, the only reason I want my games to feature good looking women is so I can jerk off to them all day.
