Well, I'm assuming there are at least some good estimate of how fast they could even print and ship it, but I was thinking mid -december at the fastest like Firewire said.commedieu said:No one knows man.

Whoever managed to make out all those cars is incredible. Although they could just be making it up, since it is somewhat hard to prove otherwise.

Yeah it mean the master copy is finished and stamping has begun. I've always assumed the phrase had to do with casting gold like a blacksmith would into it's mold. The disc is being 'cast'....or whatever.opticalmace said:Maybe a dumb question. Does "going gold" mean the master or whatever stamping thing is ready? I guess it's coated with gold? Or what.

Supplying the first run of retail discs won't take that long, the big question regarding the release date is how Sony plans to market it. Ad space, print materials and other forms of advertising would be hell to secure right now due to xmass being right around the corner. I would imagine that Sony was well prepared for this though.BobTheFork said:Well, I'm assuming there are at least some good estimate of how fast they could even print and ship it, but I was thinking mid -december at the fastest like Firewire said.

When asked for comment on the accuracy of the report, a Sony spokesperson told IGN, "We will have more details very soon on the gold master submission as well as launch date."
Yeah standard physics + strong active steering + automatic stability control makes Prologue feel pretty arcade-ish, not to mention all the tuning you can do to each individual car. I'm sure there'll be even more options in GT5.Metalmurphy said:No, but you can choose a different physics mode that makes it easier.

No denial of it going gold by Sony, so that should put any fears some might have of the story being bogus.
commedieu said:no denial is the new confirmed?
I dunno... been waiting since launch of my 60gb for this game... so hard to throw the confetti.
SolidSnakex said:Well actually they do confirm it in that statement. They say that they'll be providing more details on the gold master very soon.
they'll post saying "The game hasn't gone gold. Sorry for the troubles. We'll talk about release date soon. Please be patient"SolidSnakex said:Well actually they do confirm it in that statement. They say that they'll be providing more details on the gold master very soon.

Pretty amazing that they've culled all that information just from trailers and demo videos and whatnot. Soon, my sweet Daihatsu Midget, you will be mine.SolidSnakex said:Here's a nice list for those that want to see the confirmed cars for GT5 so far

Amazon's still got the DFGT for a 1/3rd off - it may even come bundled with GT5P if the first review is to be believed.aztrex said:Damn.
(._.) said:Will they have enough time to stamp enough discs to meet demand? Possibility of a January 2010 release date because of this?
Ashes1396 said:No. The arcade mode won't suit what you're looking for neither. Unless something has drastically changed.
LiK said:Of course.
There's an "arcade" mode in Prologue, but it doesn't change any of the underlying physics/assists. It's just a mode for you to pick a track and either race, time trial, or drift on it. If you want the handling to feel more arcade-y, you have to adjust other settings, which can also apply to any mode.mysticwhip said:
