We need to do a "low tech" race where none of the cars have down force, no aero packages are allow, and sport hard tires only. Lets get some sliding!

Something like that yeah.gutterboy44 said:We need to do a "low tech" race where none of the cars have down force, no aero packages are allow, and sport hard tires only. Lets get some sliding!

Angst said:I'd love that. But there are no BTCC cars and none or just perhaps one of the other cars among the thousand cars available.
We will do a non-super gt event next week as well, I just haven't decided what type of cars yet.
Actually I'm thinking about doing something totally opposite of this week's event... We'll see what happens though.

BTW there are two or three contemporary BTCC cars but that wouldn't be much fun
MikeDub said:how about we do a race where we all have the same car? You know, so Toxa can't cheat and have the best one.
Niks said:Some of the best races Ive had online have been 1-make races, Ive suggested it several times but people here don't seem to like it for some reason.
That would be cool, sure. Ashk and I had the same car in the NRL, which didn't exactly boost my confidence though...MikeDub said:how about we do a race where we all have the same car? You know, so Toxa can't cheat and have the best one.
Not the 500, dear god no. After doing the seasonal I have no desire to ever drive that car again.Angst said:That would be cool, sure. Ashk and I had the same car in the NRL, which didn't exactly boost my confidence though...
I'm thinking one-make race could be fun. Fiat 500 + comfort soft?

We've done all races at 22.00 CET (8.00 PM GMT) and next week will be the same time. You're very welcome to join us, no LMP cars next week though.f0rk said:So my PS3 isn't online until next week, but I would love to try some online racing with you guys. I'm not very good though and don't have a wheel or anything. What range of times is there normally in a race? I'm like 7 seconds behind what others have posted above, but I don't mind being at the back if I can at least see some other people.

So to another thing that's been discussed a lot lately, parade lap or standing start. Looking through the posts there's no clear majority, but I feel most are in favour of parade lap. Instead of discussing this back and forth, I'll make a decision - we go with parade lap this week. Next week we'll be racing in slower cars and then we'll do a standing start.
I expect to pit every 5-8 laps, depending on what the race situation looks like. By filling up 20 liters of fuel each stop I hope to avoid doing a long refill stop and thus making all stops really short. Last week I did a one-stopper on Le Sarthe, but as I had to fill 50-60 liters of fuel it took ages. And the worn tyres slowed me down far too much as well.Niks said:Is everyone ready for this? because Im certainly not.
I expect to pit every 5 laps, going beyond that is really hard with the DS3.
You planning to join?Metalmurphy said:I wanna punch him in the face.
Also, we should do votes.

Lol, I presumed so, but when I was going to ask you in the lounge you disconnected. What car will you use?Metalmurphy said:Why else would I have been practicing?
Also, first race with G Rom, should be interesting.

GAFSuperGT accountG Rom said:What lounge ? On your profile ?
I'll join after having eat anyway.
If you have just added it then GT5 sometimes takes a while to update your list in game. Just go back to the main menu then back to GT Life and it usually turns up.G Rom said:Wait, I didn't see the SuperGT account online before and I still don't see it online now...
It's not supposed to be online... Just go to the GAFSuperGT account in GT5, click the coffee cup and lo and behold, we're all there It's att the very bottom of your list presumably, at least it is if you have no other level zero buddies.G Rom said:No, even in the PSN, it says that the account hasn't been online for 3 days (when Angst accepted my FR I assume)... :-/

Overall, it wasn't a perfect race, but it was exciting. Because of pit strategy most of the time I wasn't even racing anyone except the clock, watching the distance to leader or second place. I'm a bit disappointed that I got taken out in the first lap and had to pit, it really messed up my pit strategy so I had to think while racing so I did a few little mistakes. Now I know why racing teams have a full team for devising strategy Anyway, I pit on lap 2, but soon get some more damage why makes the car very hard to drive in the first sector. But I decide to stick to two more stops so I don't pit until lap 7, and then I do a big stint all the way to lap 24. I came out in 3rd or 4th place and a few laps later everyone in front pits so I'm left in first There were 7 or 8 laps to go, seattle is on fresher tyres and he starts closing in, but I tried to keep it consistent and not push too much since I had a good enough lead. And then it ended
It was a bit weird how I didn't do much "real" overtaking, most of it was through pit stops or other people's mistakes. But I guess that's what endurance is all about
tl;dr: fun race, hope everyone joins next time too
