Gran Turismo 7 |OT| Hitting the Apex

Probably not a very popular opinion, but I miss Monaco in GT (yes, I am watching F1 right now).

I'm sure it's not unpopular, it's one of the most iconic track in history. I have lot of great memories with track in GT3 specially with F1 and Toyota GT One

Monaco is terrible track for racing but good for tt and thats all I do in game so very welcome for me ;d +looks good. Tough not expecting it, imo pd going for cheapest licenses and most easy to create and probably too many yachts there :messenger_grinning_sweat:

I been thinking that with Sony push in the GAAS area that they have left alot of money on the table by not having pay DLC for GT7?

I imagine something like.

Premium Car Pack - Featuring 6 up to date cars. $7.99

Premium Car and Track Pack Featuring 6 up to date cars and A track. $9.99

Or maybe PD was just not capable of doing so? I don't know it just seen weird that Sony didn't go this way giving there gaas push.

Personally I would had like this way I rather pay for better cars then getting crap for free.:messenger_expressionless:

They kinda tried it, but it backfired, IIRC.
GT now relies on the live events and sponsorships to keep money flowing I guess. I wouldn't mind something like a season pass as long as it's 20 bucks or so.
If they add DLC, they need better content, and more tracks. Maybe not worth the stress on the dev team?

One thing also special about Monaco race I forgot to mention, it was the first game I've seen that has that level of realistical sun lightning. It was so magical

Games that has this kind of tech only started pop off by the end of PS2 era

Polyphony has been one of the best in lighting since PS1 even. That's why I wasn't really looking forward to ray tracing in GT7. Current hardware does not seem to have the power to make ray tracing that much better than what Polyphony has.

Finally got the game downloaded, but got as far as licence test B6 before the game crashes and says the data is corrupt. Everything else seems to work fine, but I'm going to have to download the entire thing again

Does anybody here know if you can use a USB C to USB A adaptor on the PS5(Pro)? It's so I can plug my steering wheel into the front of the console.

I'm unable to leave my steering wheel connected to the Pro, and because my steering wheel has a USB A, I need to plug it into the back of the Pro (only USB C ports at the front), which is a pain in the arse due to it being sat in an enclosed shelf.

I can see that I can purchase an adaptor pretty cheap, but are they actually compatible with PS5?

Could also connect a USB hub that people have verified ps5 compatibility with to get more ports.

So I played a little bit in VR over the weekend and during this play session part of my wheel setup broke. I had one of those magnet pieces that goes around and behind the paddle shifters. Just one 3D printed and bought from Etsy. It cracked and broke.

Forgot the difference it made to the shifting. The magnets made if feel snappier in a way. Time to order a new one.

For those who use VR2 with GT7: just this week I noticed that the sound is correctly positioned depending on where you are 'looking' - as you'd expect. I am almost certain that was not the case before, to the point I commented this with a friend that also had the same impression. Was it always like this? Maybe it was a bug back then.

I think we need more SUVs and shitbox mini-vans nobody ever races but speds.

In a game that revolves itself around their World Series of racing Gr cars.

Sigh.

very thankful i came back to the good side after hearing what has happened to Forza now.

I started with GT2 as a 3yr old, then 4 as a 6yr old - went to the forza hype for the great games that were FM2 and FM3, and because my dad wanted to see what the 360 was all about. I had 3 xboxes and all of them died with those red lights. Enter PS3 and the good but flawed GT5 and 6.

They were necessary for PD to be where they are at right now. This game has amazing foundation - great physics and graphics and good sound. A lot of dynamic animations and bells and whistles (something that was very very lacking on the monotone GT5 and somewhat 6. They now just need a better and similar career to the old days - use sophy and make it like GT4, where you get slow cars and climb up - ALL AT YOUR WILL, no hand holding like in this game, and we will have PRIME Gran Turismo at the second half of Kaz's life. Eagerly awaiting.
