Yea after the epic beards for the 3 protagonists in SP I was pretty disappointed that the only full beards in Online are just textures.

The host is worried that people will beat them fairly. Never liked catch up since the Sega racers in the arcade like Daytona and Sega Rally. It means you don't necessarily win by skill.

So on the first day
I've done Lamar race

Now I have nothing on my mini-map and I can't join other jobs without freezing.

Not the best photo, but I've gotten close to recreating the AE86 Levin. Need to redo it in daylight, but I'm so happy I could find it - the default wheels are an exact match for the AE86 series :3
Too bad they don't have a hatch lookalike, it looks so much better than the coupe.
Regarding JP, I thought there was an on screen tip that said this was a rating used to determine who was the ultimate winner in playlists matches, based on who collected the most in that playlist of jobs.

I know, I was gutted at the Coupe only option but hey - I work with what I have. At least I can get it close to the Wataru's AE86 Levin, because you can get access to the same skirts, bumpers and spoilers.
When I found it parked on the side of the road randomly, I abandoned the Buffalo I started with (and the $15k of upgrades I'd spent on it) and took the new one straight to LSC to get tagged and insured!

I have a fun little mini-mission for people to try, provided you have the health for it.
Training Day
Difficulty: Variable - scales with Wanted Level
Ideal Player Count: 1-16
Mandatory Equipment: At least 1 gun, max ammo
Optional Equipment: Vehicle, as much armor and ammo as you can bring on foot, Snacks
Length: High (objective is to survive as long as possible)
Instructions
- Find an ideal location to board a moving train. Virtually any spot will work, though some places may take longer for a train to spawn than others. Do not kill the driver.
- Perch yourself on one of the several elevated train-light platforms. If you happen to find one by a tunnel (meaning you can only see an oncoming train from one direction) press in on the right stick to look behind you rather than waste time turning around.
- When a train comes around, jump off the platform and into one of the empty carriages. The more people you have with you, the harder it's going to be to get everyone on in one go. At half health (the highest you can regenerate without additional items) you should have a sliver of health left even if the train's moving at maximum speed. If you have any Snacks, try and regenerate your health now.
- When everyone's situated and you have a clear window where there are no tunnels or anything to knock you off balance, climb the carts all the way to the front and go onto the left railing. It helps to hold down L to slow down your walking so the controls don't accidentally send you flying off the edge. Boarding a train in an open location (such as by the rural interstate) will allow you to perform this a lot more easily than a dense, urban area will.
- General note: the train maintenance platforms themselves are actually elevated enough that you won't get bonked in the head standing on top of a train. If you do get hit (such as from entering a tunnel in the city), the best-case scenario will have it just knock you back into one of the empty carriages. The worst-case scenario has you being hit while the train's turning, which may knock you off and do significant damage.
- Kill the driver. It may not always give you a Wanted level. Either way, the train will now remain at max speed and out of control and, from what I can tell, enter a predetermined route around the entire island.
- From here, start shooting civilians / vehicles / whatever's around to raise your Wanted level. The best way (from what I can tell) is to get a train going down by the interstate highway on the eastern side of the island - a ton of gas trucks will spawn, and blowing one up with cars around will very quickly get you to three stars, especially if a state trooper's nearby.
- The objective from here on out is to survive as long as possible. If your Wanted level begins to blink, just shoot something distant - it'll usually cause the cops to detect you again, even if they can't see you.
- Be careful when choppers come into play. Trains have little to no cover for their carriages in rural areas, so you'll probably want to bring a Heavy Sniper to take out the pilot. Once again, Snacks are a plus if you only barely manage to survive choppers.

So happy they have a horde mode in this. I think I got it at level 15. This game just got so much better.
As for deathmatch style modes, I'm never going to play those modes as long as I keep losing cash for playing them.

When was it the last time you tried again? It's working pretty well now and I partly wonder if it's due to apart of Europe not on right now.

Fuck it, I give up. Hopefully tomorrows patch fixes this mess.
Just checked now, and my character is still missing. As I said, I played 2 hours last night. Played 4 hours this morning. Then I got the cloud server error around mid-day. Haven't been on really for 7 hours. Just checked right now, and characters are still gone. =/

My character went missing yesterday. Then she reappeared around 8pm last night. DO NOT make a new character on the same slot, it will delete them.
But yeah, my character is still missing from this morning (again). And still isn't back. My bank money is there though.

huh.....sometimes I restart/re setup the connection under the xmb. As a fresher. Maybe try that and log in straight into Online from loading screen

Well, I got in several hours ago and played way more than I intended. Maybe my character wasn't "deleted" or missing, just for whatever reason I got the change appearance thing when I tried the quick launch as I think others have. Tried to take a picture but it was down again, blah.
EDIT: Oh, and I only noticed today along with losing the melee weapons not bought from Ammo-Nation I lost the SE weapons from my inventory and they're also not at Ammo-Nation! Hopefully I can redownload, dammit.

It seems any time I try to host a mission it always just says invited on people's names.
That just means that people have received your invite and are not accepting, probably just having run running and gunning on the main street.
I'm on PS3. So maybe it's different. But I've tried all that a bunch of times. I'm just going to wait till tomorrow' patch, and hope my character comes back.

I had no issues at all first time I started up GTA Online, but I created a new character yesterday and since than I haven't been able to start up the first race with Lamar. It just infinitely loads, "waiting for other players". Pretty damn irritating especially since I can't switch to my other character either.
