I rarely play in free roam so I'm not usually getting wasted by randoms. I just played missions and races and survivals for three hours and made 50 grand. The economy in this game is just fine if you actually play the game as it's designed. I think I've only been killed about 5 times in free roam.

why are you contantly on the radar during deathmatch? surely it should based on sound or sight? otherwise everyone is just camping.

Outside of round start, you aren't. It's just a silly amount of time you stay on once you do something to make yourself appear.

HAAHAHA

I call my mechanic to deliver my car...when he shows up it's a different color with different mods. I go to enter it and it does the "drag out of car" animation...then I get a bounty.

Been a long time since I played a game this buggy.

I also haven't had a text from Simeon to find some cars in ages. I need his text to find one of the cars I want...

I wish it wasn't so difficult to fill up a game. Every single one is like 3 players max. Not sure if the matchmaking sucks or people just like dicking around in free-roam more. I wanna do Top Fun with all 8. And when 1 player joins you only get like 2 minutes to fill up, and people are still too impatient to wait for a few more.

Edit: Sitting in this lobby for 5 minutes, not a single person is joining. Fuck it.

Yeah it's pretty ridiculous. The problem is that when you do a game type and invite people to a session nobody actually wants to join. They're just off doing whatever they're doing in the world. They should have just had lobbies dedicated to various game types, and then had a voting system for the specific situation/location of this game type before the match starts. Spreading tons of different events all over the map and having the only way to play with others being to invite them to your session when they're doing whatever they're doing is very crappy. To be honest GTA IV did the competitive multiplayer better. At least when you went on the various game types you could actually find matches with lots of people. In GTA V I think the most amount of people I've been able to get in to any game type with outside of free roam is 4 people.

Some guy was on a crotch rocket paused on the highway. I was chasing him around for fun earlier but, when he took a shot at me, wasn't cool. Realized I was holding a sticky bomb, somehow. Went up to him, threw it on his bike, ran away and blew him and it sky high.

Unfortunately, it was his personal vehicle.

Said something about me getting bad rep since it was his personal vehicle. I do feel bad though so I just signed off quickly, haha.

Are you under the impression something like auto invite only pulls players from whatever last freemode session you were in?

Even if it's inviting people from every free roam session out there, what difference does it make? It's still just inviting people who are doing whatever they're doing in their world and probably won't want to join your match.

Got a warning for bad sport. I was chasing some guy in a car that had a bounty. I shot out his tires with my AP pistol and then started shooting through his back window. His car then blew up out of nowhere. I didn't want to blow it up, shiiiiiit.

It pulls people from your crew, your friends list, your free roam session, your previous played mission lobbies, and then.. finally.. pulls in anyone who is searching for the mission type you're doing through random.

Fucking tanks. Got spawned into a session where a level 70 was griefing any and all who dared enter los santos with a tank. When he died, he just spawned another. I must've died twenty times trying to get to my apartment.

I've completely stopped playing the online portion of GTA:O because of the jackasses online who have nothing better to do than kill every other player they come across. I'm sticking to Solo, Crew, and Friend modes only and am now only playing with friends. As others have mentioned, grinding for money is tedious in this game and death penalties are too high when you're not earning too much for missions.

I mean sure, you can find ways around the money issues by just grinding the same mission over and over but the real money doesn't come unless you're optimizing everything you're doing (selling a 9k car every 48 minutes, playing with others to increase RP and money gain from a handful of missions, etc.). If you're swimming in money, the deaths wouldn't matter all that much. For the rest of us who don't have 6 hours a day to grind the same mission with the same 3 friends over and over, losing half of the money on average you earn for a mission sucks. Playing online with a group of random strangers is not something I've enjoyed so far with the rules currently in place.

Yeah, it becomes incredibly repetitive and then you get killed and loose close to a missions worth of cash as you where driving to buy something. The whole system is built around you loosing money and making it tedious to gain money.

I don't have the time to sit down and play countless hours of deathmatches and races, both of which I find pretty dull pretty quickly anyway.

Jobs can be fun but not when I'm grinding the same old jobs over and over.

Of course it does, when you're in a lobby, you're already in an entirely different instance of the world. That's why you can't immediately back out after joining or hosting, the game is still loading. How do you think people are joining games the rest of the time? People who want to play specific types of matches just use quick join, and given people's matches are set to open for matchmaking, they'll drop into them. I'm not seeing much of a distinction between people who want to wait in a dedicated menu while looking for a match and just sitting in freemode for it.

Just ran into some guy with a bounty. I could not kill him, and when I got close he'd teleport across the map, WTF?

Job teleporting.

Do you know who sucks? The crew members who crash into other players to make a member of his crew win races.

Yeah, it's pretty cheap but even more satisfying when you end up beating them.

I heard you get a free garage if you have a social club account. is this true?
I believe that is SP only!

CE gets GTAO garage, I'm pretty sure.

On the link below it use to say that you would get a free garage for being signed up or signing up for the RS Social Club, looks like they removed it though.

Hmm.. I didn't realize that you still got 1000 xp for races by yourself. Interesting. So XP as a metric is completely useless.

Most I've gotten from Criminal Records is 825 I think but it's only 30 seconds long or less. If there's another short race that offers more XP I'd like to know. I should test to see if vehicle class changes it, how fast you complete it seems to.

Martin Gives you a mission where you have to blow up some dump trucks in a construction site, if you armor your personal car to 40%, you can repeatedly ride in and blow up the first 2 that are surrounded by guards and get out unhurt. If you have 2 friends, they can be waiting at where the other 2 trucks spawn half a mile away, we were running the whole mission in <2min when we got proficient

18k and 3500rp

Online since 5:30pm EST on 360 and can confirm that the Lvl45 Martinez Madrazo mission 'Mixed Up with Coke' is paying 18k and 3550rp and is still repeatable. Was not prompted for an update.

Yet matches with decent amount of players are very hard to come by. Clearly something about the matchmaking is wrong. If there wasn't anything wrong with it I'd be able to get in to decent matches fairly easily. GTA IV never had this problem back when I used to play that online.

I just happened to hijack a car Simeon wants, go repaint it and once I exit the workshop I have three dudes all up in my grill. Got $10k for it so it was worth it but still. Christ, some people.

Yet, a moment later I land my chopper across the street on a rooftop only to wait for a guy with a $5k bounty on him to walk out.

You guys are misunderstanding the wording here. Character given missions aren't considered "jobs". Races, Parachuting, Last Team Standing, Survival, etc. are considered "jobs". I love it how they forgot to mention that they diabled the option to replay character given missions.

so apparently you need a 200k+ apartment to do the heists, wish i knew that before wasting money on the cheap one...

Last night, I entered free roam and immediately notice I'm being chased. The guys take every turn I do, so I head straight for the apartment I just bought. I run up the stairs as the two guys chasing me start firing, but I make it inside. Send a smiley face to one of the them and get a text saying "come out" from the other. They sit outside my apartment, tossing grenades at it before leaving and killing random players.

Randomly hunting and griefing people for no reason just rubs me the wrong way. I'm not above returning the favor though. It was then that my work began.

After farming VD and that madrazo lawyer mission for a short while, I had some cash to spare. I send one guy a message saying "kill your friend four times," then place a mid-tier bounty on his friend. Everyone else in the lobby starts going after them. I tell them that if one kills the other, I'll stop placing bounties on them. I also promise an additional $1000 to people who kill the one I kept placing bounties on top of the bounty, which increases after every kill. The two of them are good, so they end up killing a lot of others which gets people going for revenge kills even without me placing bounties on them. I watch all of this unfold on TV, trying to give them tips on what to do, reminding them that I can stop the bounties if the first guy kills his friend.

Someone else placed a bounty on me while in the apartment, so I take a trip to Fort Zancudo and successfully steal a jet as the person who placed the bounty comes driving after me. I fly around as I watch them fail to steal a jet too. I circle around after they respawn and manage to blow them up with missiles (hard to hit non-police/on-foot ground targets with them). I then go back to the other two griefers, lower the landing gear to make the jet more maneuverable and carefully hit them with missiles as the drive around. They have wanted levels from going around shooting people constantly, so I'm able to lock-on to cops near them, which makes it easier.

I go back to the guy at Fort Zancudo who's still trying to get in and blow him up some more. On my way, I see one of the two griefers killed his friend. At this point, I had already stopped placing bounties. They kill each other back and forth before they both leave the game.

The guy at Zanduco gets inside the fort at one point and when I pass above it, I get shot down from the SAMs. After we both respawn in the creek outside the fort, I snipe him.

I then noticed a text from the guy who I told to kill his friend after I first joined the game little over an hour ago. He says that I was messed up for making him do that.

I like this game.

It looks like they may have adjusted the rank needed for weapons as well. I can't login to the game, but I noticed under the weapons tab on the social site you can get the grenade launcher at 49 now, and the rocket launcher at 65. That will help as the main thing I have been trying to do is simply unlock the weapons so I can start up some good old fashion police wars.
