Hey, does anyone want to do the Last Man Standing Playlist? I'd really like to get that mask but it seems hard to get any players and when I do it's one... I just managed to get through all 5 deathmatches only to have the guy leave at the last one (after it started) so it kicked me out due to only me being on the mission. I don't really want to do that again to be at the mercy of if the person decides to stick around or not (I wish they'd leave before I start the job so at least I can wait for some one who does want to play. Kinda scummy to leave after it started <- and not the first person to do it to me but originally it was on the first job so it wasn't as annoying).
I really don't want to play this all over again just to have that happen cause the only reason I'm even playing the playlist at all is the mask and I dont' really care for doing 5 last man standing missions in a row.

Hey, can we do like in July for the Beer Hats and do a NeoGAF Invite Only Lobby and help each other out to get a special crate for the specail event shirt, like we all wait in line for our turn to get one?
I'd be down for that.
BTW, I just read on reddit two changes that really disturb me.
One is apparently trolls with no money can go back to destroying people's vehicles and having the person whose vehicle was destroyed cover the difference between what the troll had left in their account and the insurance on the car (which is total BS imho. I was liking the change where as long as your car being destroyed was some one else's fault you didn't pay for it. The old/back to current way just allows people who like to troll and don't care about having money in their account have a way of pissing people off. I'm all for not giving trolls ammo. Plus it means I'm back to wanting to only bring out my cheapest cars if I'm not in an invite only server). I really hope R* comes to their senses and changes it back, ugh!
And the second is that apparently any vehicles you get from Pegasus will go back to the "garage" if you don't pick them up in a few minutes (guy said 5-10).

Yeah, I haven't noticed this personally, as i said, it was something I read on reddit. So I don't know if this happened to this guy. Apparently he claims he's used to leaving it hidden while he goes and does something (I guess nearby) and having it there as an escape vehicle. Apparently this time he got a message about how it was out too long and pegasus put it back. It's not actually the thing that bugs me the most. The paying the difference on the insurance is (here's the reddit thread on that: http://www.reddit.com/r/GrandTheftAutoV/comments/2i8115/i_thought_rockstar_fixed_this_bullshit/) . That pissed me off about the game and I loved that they changed it so you didn't pay regardless if it wasn't your fault and now they changed it back?! I don't even understand why, it's not like some one loses money if the person blowing up the vehicle doesn't have enough. It's a fictional company providing the insurance and fictional money and making you pay really doesn't add to gameplay. It just allows griefers who don't mind being penniless to have a way to piss people off (ha ha, I blew up your vehicle and now you have to pay for it too). And make it so I'm back to being super paranoid about bringing out any non cheap cars.
The only possible thing I can think of why they would go back is they want GTA to cost more money to play so you're more tempted to pay for the MTs. Other than that, I don't see why R* would change it back (and it also is why MTs are bad, they encourage stuff like that or at best, they make it so that I'm in doubt that a change to the game was done to try to get me to pay more vs. to try to make it more fun. Which in the end lessens the fun when I'm wondering if the game is annoying cause they want to make more money off of me, kinda makes me think worse of the game which does make it less fun).
Or gets rid of the insurance payout all together.

On one hand insurances punishes owners for being poor drivers. It also punishes griefing. On the other, there were times when carnage became so efficient that tank victims realized they could soak money from tank users by constantly flinging their cars into the tank.
There are instances I might condone "insurance trolling". Ex. Some Supers have invincible rear hitboxes just from not having a window. The only way to get rid of them is to blow them up. Maybe a few bad players ruined it for everyone. Insurance is a great idea but there are too many scenarios for the game to be an accurate judge.
Regarding Pegasus vehicle... putting them away isn't bad. It'd be a pain if they were stolen.

Well maybe the solution is instead to do as above person said, stop charging an insurance premium in the first place. I just find it really unfun to have to worry about some random other person blowing up my car and how much that is going to cost me (I don't mind it costing me if I did it out of bad driving, just when some one else does it). I don't know, when I didn't have to pay for it I could relax more and not care as much and maybe even have fun trying to fight back vs. getting pissed off they just cost me 10k.
But I don't use my Zenterno to back up into people but unless I'm in an invite only now I really don't want to take it out cause with players out there it's going to cost me 10,000 cause some one will want to blow it up (and there is almost always one if not more in a server who like to blow people's cars up). And I like my Zenterno, it's my favorite car. I end up using my Oracle most of the time or the little Blista solely cause they are cheap to replace (the Rebel is cheaper but it's too slow to even have a chance of getting by a random player without them killing me). All my supers end up just being garage trophies.

What's the point if I can't get to it in time anyways? I'd rather the chance they be stolen then not get a chance to get to them at all or use them in creative ways (like keeping them as a getaway vehicle). Really, as people on reddit have pointed out, what they should do is give you an option to tell pegaus to put it away if you decide you don't want it out anymore.
Is there a trick to getting them to spawn?

Honestly supers are pretty lousy for public sessions. Recovering after they're blown up is terrible and opens you to losing it again (if they're unguarded at the Mors lot!). Oracle is a good choice, as are Bati/Akuma if you're good at not crashing. My choice utility car is still the Sultan.
One time, a guy killed me and stole my tank. It took 1 exploding car + 5 sticky bombs + 1 RPG to put it down. Carbombs are a great reason to not use expensive PVs.
It might not mean that much but premium cars are still good for races.
Tips for Crates:
Do all your Free Roam stuff. Sell cars from Simeon's list, green cars , attack armored cars, Lester's assassination's, etc. Completing enough of these can trigger crates.
Me and Jason's 1st crate was kinda quick. The 2nd and 3rd were slower. For whatever reason, Free Roam stops giving the abpve tasks but resumed when either me or Jason left the session The crate alerts appeared after we left. The other guy would have to be reinvited, and so on.

So, you all having the issue where the game freezes for a second or two when you double tap down on the D-Pad for either the player list or larger mini-map?

Nope, you should create a new character, do the flight school and get the money, delete and then repeat until you're satisfied, I heard you can get through the intro crap faster now but I'm not sure how true that is since I haven't tried it yet... Of course never mind if they killed the flight school pay outs.

Yep. But it doesn't really matter how many times you do these things. I began Invite Only session, got armored truck after 30 minutes. Nothing after that for 50 minutes, so I said screw this, I'm gonna find and deliver one of the cars for Simeon. As soon as I've done it, within 1 minute, message about Special Crate drop appeared.
Same here. What's bizzare I have this problem only on PS3, while X360 is as smooth as it was. It's happening since 1.17 is out, so... waiting for new update to fix this shit :/
Um, that's exactly why I hate that if some one doesn't have enough money to cover the insurance premium that you pay! If they blew it up and you didn't pay regardless they'd be fine for using in public sessions. And I hate having to have them be garage queens just for fear of blowing htem up. What the hell is the point if I don't actually drive them?! And why should I have to stick myself to some not as fun car just in fear of the bill it will accrue when invariably some one thinks it is fun to blow your car up?
And after thinking about the scenario some one else put why making people pay for your premium if they blow it up, if you are rampaging against players in a tank and they are throwing their expensive cars at you and making it so that they cannot do that to you, sorry, but if you want to rampage against players in a tank, I think it's perfectly fair you might accrue a large bill. I've never thought it unfair that if I blow some one up in my tank that I pay for their insurance premium (I do think it's unfair if they blow me up and don't have enough money that I end up paying for it though). At least if they start doing that to me in the tank, I can choose to stop blowing them up. I can't get some one to stop trying to blow me up (if good enough I may be able to stop it for a while but then I end up being distracted from what I was doing doing something I may not even enjoy doing in the first place when I was trying to do something else).
You are the one that is attacking and choosing to rampage against them in the first place! Honestly, I don't see that as unfair at all.throwing their expensive cars at you and making it so that they cannot do that to you, sorry, but if you want to rampage against players in a tank, I think it's perfectly fair.
Anyways, thanks for the tips for the crates. Not that I've been able to get them to spawn anyways

Yeah it's rather annoying, I also found that it's even more broken when you're in an aircraft. One tap will bring up both the player list and the enlarged mini map but the game pauses up just as much if not more.
Looking forward to this stuff getting sorted as it really interferes with the game if you're checking either while actually doing anything.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound so brash. I think we basically agree. Maybe either insurance should be canned/reduced, or money should be way easier to get. It will probably not stop the trolling though. Money loss gives trolling a material deterrent; I don't know any better alternatives.

Between Saturday and Sunday, JasonFrost and I recieved 5 special crates and ~5 regular crates. A few of the latter came from public lobbies. The slowest times were when we ran out of F.Roam tasks but one of us quitting seemed to push the game along.

Can't believe a videogame has a social welfare policy where if somebody without insurance wrecklessly blows up your car, you have to cover their lack of insurance.
I... just don't see how that is possibly a feature in a videogame. Some developer actually spent time coding that feature into the game, and some producer actually thought that it improves the game world. How I have no idea.

TBH I wish story mode had a similar car management system.
GTAO probably intended common players to be millionaires over time through stocks, heists ,etc. Some players already got rich though and adding features might make it worse, so R* is underestimating insurance's current impact on non-millionaires.

It is not timed.
Pegasus Vehicules now despawn if you go really far away from them only after you drove them and abandoned them.
So I don't know why you talk about time.
Yes, problem appeared with patch 1.17.

Don't have a PS4 and probably won't for awhile... I might get the PC version though IDK if I'd get it for GTAO though.
I still wish people who can't cover the payment of your vehicle would just go into debt, that would stop a lot of BS, especially by people who are legitimately broke because then they'd have to risk getting so far in the hole that they couldn't afford to even restock their weapons or recover their vehicles. I support other players blowing up my car/bike/whatever and I having to pay for it if I have a bounty or whatever but yeah, I can't believe they intentionally reverted that change they implemented to prevent "poor" players from being able to destroy PVs and punishing non-bountied for it.

I don't think that would ever really work with the system as is.

I added you too on the Rockstar Games Social Club, go see it.
Did you try to delete your game cache and install it again, it will problaby help you with your pop-in issue, but the 1 second freeze when pressing down will stay because it is a problem from the patch.

I've cleared the cache and I reinstalled the game a few months ago after wiping my HDD, might give reinstalling a shot but I doubt it's that since it only happens on the GTAO side and not in single player or invite only sessions or missions I'm doing solo missions. usually only in public rooms is it a serious issue. And yes, I'm completely aware it won't fix that freeze/pause issue.

Like I said before, me and Jason figured out how to make crate drops happen rather effectively. The system is not without flaws but it beats fighting other people for them. About midnight yesterday a Special Crate spawned in a public session, though the final drop alert never showed up. It might've showed up for another player or it might've not showed up at all. That's why it's a good thing to hunt with people you know.
On Saturday it was just myself and Jason. On Sunday his friend joined us, only to quit shortly before a drop. The times ranged anywhere from 1.5 to 3+ hours, so it gave us some time to goof off.
There's a mission on RS Social Club that can be bookmarked to make something interesting happen. I can't find a proper URL, but this video explains everything.

So my time on GTAO was interesting. Was on my main character doing the vehicle delivery in a invite only session, a few minutes in an armored truck popped up, got the truck (they fixed or reverted the payouts for cash and RP to what they were before 1.16) and evaded the police when my stars went away I went back to trying to find the vehicle I was looking for when after a few more minutes a specific wanted vehicle came up, went and did that instead, delivered it and again several more minutes went by and an armored truck popped up again and this kept going on every six minutes from after the previous task was completed, including losing the cops when the trucks. Noticed after my fourth or fifth wanted vehicle I was getting paid about when it was normally worth. Next time a wanted vehicle was due to come up I was in my garage getting another vehicle and after leaving it didn't come up but another couple minutes passed and an armored truck showed up.
Got bored and switched to my other character to do its vehicle delivery and after bouncing into and out of a public lobby to go back to invite only the armored truck > 6 minutes pass after stars > wanted vehicle > 6 minutes pass after delivery > armored truck and so on before I quit because I need sleep.

Everyone plays GTA for different reasons, but yes if they had friendly servers for people that don't like chaos and a server for people that want to have crazy fun.

On the bright side a lot of the annoying shits on the last gen version of GTAO probably won't be on the current gen version for a good amount of time.
Oh, don't get me wrong, I like chaos. I just like causing chaos with players rather than against players. Some of my favorite times in GTA online was when there was the glitch to keep the sheriff SUV and having people help me try to get one. Hell, even recently when I had some random convince me that maybe they were allowing the keeping of police cars so we tried to get another. Failed the first time, second time we started getting trailed by the copter with missiles. I thought for sure he was going to blow us up. He was helping us and going after other players/cops that were after us. That's the kind of stuff I like doing (and I love raging against the cops in the game).
And I like doing peaceful stuff too. I like giving people rides when I'm in a copter. My idea of trolling people was wondering around in a tank and not shooting people (learned though that if some one tries to ride on top and you let them but you move the turret, it kills them and blames you and bitches at you for being a bad sport).
But most randoms just want to shoot at each other and while that's ok when I'm bored, I prefer to be creating havoc against the computer (reason why I don't want the friendly server to have cops that don't go after you) and yes, sometimes more peaceful stuff too (like off roading).
