....and delayed to March 2013.
I think a holiday 2012 release is a safe bet.

GTA4 was gonna to be a holiday release before it got delayed for technical stuff Plus Sony and Microsoft seem to have all there big first party games out this year leaving next holiday looking empty.... now I think I know why they did that.

Holiday 2012 looks to have Halo 4, GTA5, Assassins Creed 3, Call of Duty Whatever and I guess sony will have a new God of War (seems like the studio is due)

Everything else is pretty much fucked.

Grand Theft Autos comedy revolves around satire. There's nowhere in the world easier to create satirical comedy for a western audience than being set in America. The UK too, maybe, but significantly less so.

It'll be America.

starring Karl Pilkington instead of Gervais

Soon as I saw the "V" I thought DC... so yeah, I'm going with that too.

Given the Housers love of satire and social commentary, a GTA game set in Washington DC, releasing around the time of the 2012 election would be interesting.

Vied for a tag related to cocks, so here it is.
I just want a map like San Andreas again. Cities but with plenty of country, which means PLANES THIS TIME.

I'd be hyped, but it'll be years before a PC port and more time before I pick it up for $15. So, I won't get hyped! =D

But DC is a boring, flat and with no skyline city.

What is people's obsession with hilly terrain/hate of flatness? Vice City was flat as a board and it was the best environment of all the GTA games. Its about personality and layout, not terrain.

Wut?

Everyone knows San Andreas environment is the best.

Also HYPE GET!

...hate me...
I just hope they keep the driving mechanics from IV. I loved that shit, so much fun.

I know some of you will say that it sucks, but your opinion is WRONG. Just saying.

Exactly!

If it is set in DC I can't wait to see the Tea Party equivalent

Vice City was an extremely good game thanks to it's pacing, storyline and the 80's atmosphear. The flat terrain never attracted me. The map was cool thanks fo the seaside and the interesting locales, not for the road itself (in my perspective).

The simple line here : curvy hillside cities offer so much more possibilities in terms of driving fun, and that's about it.

Played San Andreas (my 1st GTA) and really liked it, then played IV and it bored me to death. I guess I'll eventually play this when it's cheap or something.

Yep.

Imagine being tasked with breaking up an #occupy event.

Political commercials.

A "real" assassination mission.

Toss in Baltimore for some The Wire love and you've got yourself gold.

I can't think of a 'bigger' game that could be announced, FFVII remake maybe, but GTA is still bigger.

Every year the new CoD is announced is a bigger game announced than GTA now.

Jesus. Best wake-up news since forever.

A bit of a mean move to make us wait another week for the trailer.... the explosion would of been colossal if they just posted it at the same time.

Because flat terrain isn't as fun to navigate as hill can be. That's why I love San Andreas more than VC, not only about diversity. Sure Vice City was, as usually with Rockstar, pin point perfect in term of level and world design (much better that San Fierro or Las Venturas for that matter that suckes like if they were rushed out in San Andreas, compared to Los Santos)

True, but it's definitely a good city to build a story full of political satire and social commentary around.

But what about actual grand banditism and organized crime ?

Yep it is. I wonder how much this will sell considering the PS3/360 install base right now.

Its the perfect size. Bigger is not better when its bigger just for the sake of being bigger and barren.

I always used to think it was perfectly sized as well, but I played it again recently after going though IV and SA and it just feels way too small.

When I first read the topic title, I thought it said it was releasing November second.

I still need to play GTAIV. I have all the DLC's and main game but my computer can't handle it :(

Because it was fun to ride an ATV through the woods?

I already played so many games running around in boring big cities. I want a rural area as well!

I'll never forget the moment I realized how big SA actually is. Still brings a smile to my face.

I honestly don't care which city this is set in, I just want some diversity.
