Better have horse-riding or no sale!

Just buying this for the radio and TV-stations alone. Shit was glorious in GTA IV. Even the haters have to admit that. I can't imagine how many hours go into the fake brands, commercials and stuff like that. Those things define GTA more for me than the gameplay. I just want to be immersed in a fake world. I want to WALK around a city, absorbing all the atmosphere, and not run around in it like a steroid idiot by default. Tapping A to run was a great design decision. Fuck The Haters. R* could make an option to turn that off though to please those people.

Walking around with your phone in hand along fake Times Square...good shit.

What? No. that part of GTA IV sucked. They were funny in GTA3 and Vice City, but the radio and TV stuff in GTAIV felt incredibly forced and unfunny. The best part of IV was clearly the city itself.

Independence FM makes both arguments invalid.

How are friend codes not a legitimate complaint for online?

You say this like Rockstar owes Nintendo. They published CW on DS, proving their willingness to work with Nintendo's unique hardware. Unfortunately the sales didn't pan out.
Nobody knows 100% anything solid right now.

Nintendo said they're letting 3rd party developers use their own systems for online; nobody knows exactly what this means though, but there will probably be Rockstar's own system on it or something.

Yes, but they eventually made more than one version of it. This is no doubt going to be a multi-platform game, and to say otherwise is just going to be plain wrong.

The electronic music station was awesome in GTA4 and maybe one of the rock stations. Lazlow was terrible last time around, sadly.

You twisted my question into all sorts of retardation there..

Next-gen consoles will be announced a year before their actual release, so if they're not set to be announced next E3, as this suggests, then that puts their release at 2014 at the soonest. That is the point.

Next gen consoles could be announced and released the same year. Just like the 360 had its formal announcement and launch within the same year. It's not out of the question.

But I really don't see Rockstay announcing this as a title for the next set of platforms next week. Microsoft and Sony would probably like it if they could announce their consoles and show off games at the same time, not have a third party suddenly running around with a trailer of their next game running on unannounced hardware.

(if I totally misunderstood your original post, I'm sorry)

The radio stations in IV were enjoyable . . . but I think that both Vice City and San Andreas were better. The music in IV was meh.

Hope it's not as boring as GTA IV was. At least Ballad of Gay Tony DLC added the fun back in.

Thats probably going to be the biggest question that will be answered next week. If Rockstar has the balls to stay the course laid with 4, or they will break under pressure from fans wanting San Andreas 2.

If we're talking comedy, shit was lame by Vice City. Chatterbox in GTA3 is unrivaled in terms of comedy IMO because they treated it as if it were an actual station: no extremely crude language or over the top dialogue. This restraint forced them to make the humor even stronger.

If we're talking music, then I disagree with you even more: GTAIV had some of the best music stations out of all the GTAs. I could listen to JNR and Massive B for days. I'd still like to see them bring back MSX from GTA 3 though.

We don't know yet, but what we DO know is it's more powerful than the current systems.
The screen can be used for many things, it's a normal controller.
How are friend codes not a legitimate complaint for online?
Didn't say that.
Besides, friend codes probably won't even be used anymore.

I said nothing of the sort, don't put words in my mouth.
I'm talking about the difference in power between the Wii and the HD consoles.
If the Wii had been as powerful as the other consoles I'm guessing it gets a version of GTAIV.

Really hoping for Spring 2012 release, which would be in keeping with their 4-5 year development cycle for IV. And of course IV got that 6 month delay -- I would like to think that R* doesn't want a repeat of that situation and have waited till they're almost done to announce the game.

Predictions - complaints with IV are addressed and then some. Airplanes, bikes, countryside, more crazy stuff.

I think we'll see present-day San Andreas, with a focus on a sprawling city itself and the surrounding suburbs and wilderness. A central city, with smaller towns nearby. I would expect some equivalent of Santa Barbara, and perhaps something like San Diego. Maybe MAYBE even a bit of Mexico.

So damn psyched -- I have no doubt the game will be incredible. I just hope they're not pulling back the curtain too soon. We had to wait 23 months with IV from announcement to release.

The font for Five, the whole V image is really...American Dollar?

GTAV: Play as George Washington in Colonial Virginia. Take on the British, sign the constitution, lead America to Victory! Or don't do any of that shit! IT'S UP TO YOU!

the car handling in GTA4 was much improved for the series. they would be stupid to go back. character movement on the other hands is another story

I know I'm late to this, but when I first saw the design of the "V", I thought "Irish Pub". Sorry if it's already been touched on, but I'm getting a heavy Irish vibe.

I don't care what anyone says; GTA IV is one of the finest games ever created. The amount of content in that game is astounding.
Anyone who has worked in the industry will appreciate what an astonishing achievement it is. A truly incredible game. Even if it's not to your taste you have to be ignorant to denigrate it's lovingly crafted world.

GTA is the only game that really gets me really excited now. Everything else is just noise.

For all the flaws, GTA4 was so good for me because of the cast. I loved Roman, Brucey, Jacob, and the whole McCrery (spelling) clan. I loved the car conversations everyone had.

I said like Rockstar owes Nintendo. "No excuses this time Rockstar". It's their decision which platforms their games go on. If I was involved with Rockstar, I'd probably want to sell the most copies that I could. If I could put my game in a cost-effective way on a Nintendo platform, I would. If it's not out on Wii U, I would expect that it would be because of technical or cost limitations, not platform loyalty.

Agreed. I loved the way the cars handled in gta4. I think that they will also have way better character movement too. I got to see max payne 3 at NYCC, and had my mindblown by what they are doing with there new character rigs and animation. If that is any indication of what will also be implemented into the new GTA.....holy shit.

Hopefully they will impress my nipples off because after GTAIV I am looking alot forward more to Saints Row 3, and they probably will with some awesome story or something.

Hollywood and Silicon Valley guys.

There will be a Steeve Jobs character, I'm sure.

I want multiplayer to come back with refinements. I spent as much time playing Cops and Robbers as I have anything this generation. Kittonwy was the worst wheelman ever lol but it was so much fun.

edit: I doubt anyone from the the GTA3 games will be in this, and not as the protagonist. We kind of have his whole story now.

Need to beat IV, but for sure am looking forward to this.

Speaking of 4, is there any easy way to reverse the ICEnhancer?

Right click on GTA, properties and verify game files, it'll fix them.
Not steam version? Reinstall.

Gonna be New York or DC.
Liberty City is New York/New Jersey. They did that with IV. V will be somewhere else.

And the greenback in the OP graphic indicates the USA. So Vice City is looking more likely. (*crosses fingers*)

It's seems unusual in these specific game threads when a GAF poster gets it right and makes a well written, concise point no less. Normally it's see a game I don't like, troll the thread, feel good about myself. Maybe this site isn't just for pseudo-intellectual snobs that think the sun rises and sets on their opinions after all. Kudos sir!

Casino it is.
Pardon my ignorance, bur what am I looking at?
The V and the "FIVE" text. Also the way the cross hash anti counterfeit design is on the logo implying it's dealing with money.
