Fuck the driving in GTA IV. Fucking piece of shit mess.
If they make the cars handle like they do in L.A. Noire, I'll be happy. I don't want driving to feel like a goddamn chore this time around.

A playable female character - outside of the multiplayer - would be interesting. Easy controversy anyway, which we know, they know sells games.

Knows the Score
I've heard the multiple characters thing before (five different characters in particular).

However, the thing I've heard that isn't noted here was that each of the characters is in approximately a different decade starting from the 60s in the same geographical area and the storylines link by dropping items for future characters. Don't know anything about the area though.

If they made the game similar to episodes (14-20hr story) with multiple characters each i'd be ok with that than one drawn out (30-40hr story) like GTA IV. (i'm not sure if this sentence reads well)

i bet if rockstar just released the game without any prior announcements it would cause a bigger stir than any marketing promo they come up with.

every game site reporting GTA V just released, forums flooded with "WTF i can buy this?", it would prob make the news again too. they wouldn't have to spend anything on marketing.

It would surprise a lot of people, but Rockstar is so good at marketing their games, and creating hype. As much as I hate knowing that I have a long time to play this, I love the feeling of the hype, and looking forward to playing it. Pouring over articles, news bits, etc. is half the fun.

I don't get that feeling much with games anymore. This is one of the few franchises that really make me feel like a kid again.

Yeah, that'd be the best solution.
In the end R* games always feel dragged on, until in the end they pick up steam again.
Happened with all th GTAs and with RDR.

It'd be cool if we got a sandbox game without completely linear missions and progression, but I'm not holding out much hope. GTA4 gave you plenty of tools that could have made the game fairly open(police computers, cell phones, internet) but only made them useful when they said so.

This made my day. I think that gta 4 is impressive to this day, Cant wait to see what Rockstar has been cooking for the part 3 years.

ballad of gay tony was fun

If the meat and potatoes to a game are just not fun the first time around, I most likely won't take it's ".5" sequels out for a spin.

Why would it be based only on Los Santos(LA)? I'm going to assume it covers Los Santos(LA), San Fierro(San Francisco), and Las Venturas(Vegas)...be positive.

I know its going to be L.A, but why R*, why?? San Andreas? Hell yea! Vice City? Hell yea x 2! L.A? Fuck out of there...

I think when they say LA, they mean Rockstar's equivalent of LA (San Andreas or more specifically Los Santos), just like GTA4 was basically NY city.

Considering how much more detail goes into the engine and graphics now, I wonder if creating a world as big as San Andreas would take up too many resources, so focusing it down to a city makes sense in that regard. Think of how much bigger and more expansive Liberty was in 4 compared to GTA3. It was basically Liberty City in name only. I still hope if that is the case, they can keep some of the diversity like the countryside areas in San Andreas.

Is this Bizarro world? Driving in LA Noire was fucking garbage. GTAIV driving is godlike with a little bit of skill.

Why the hate for LA? (serious question)

I don't like it as NYC in movies (sorry, never been there), but Los Santos from San Andreas was pretty cool.

Yes I know, but its still only Los Santos(if thats true) and that, IMO, sucks.

I actually wanted Washington DC, if the LA rumor is true then it might be a bit like San Andreas since its based on LA, hell they even got the forests and etc right lol

Put the staples center there so i can steal the 09-10 NBA title :p

still hyped though B^)

wonder if its set in the year 2010, that would be sick

I agree with that. I don't know why the driving in GTA IV gets so much hate. I LOVE it!

I was under the impression that we had known it was going to be based in current day Hollywood for a while? Weren't they going around and buying goofy domain names that had a very LA sound to them?

And isn't San Andreas the only city they haven't returned t

I mentioned a while back when the LA rumors were surfacing that a modern day Los Santos, where you play as a corrupt cop Training Day/The Shield style, would be a great new direction for GTA. Having to balance your criminal contacts with every day cop shit. What if you are on your way to supervise a drug deal and get a call that some methhead is threatening to kill his wife and kids?

The V obviously has a dollar bill pattern on it, but I was wondering if anyone else noticed that it could also look like lines of pantyhose? That would make sense if this has a female protagonist.

Yeah I don't mind a smaller map than San Andreas just make it have more side activities; I want to be able to do all the crazy shit of San Andreas while encompassing the gameplay/story quality of IV.

But that seems more along the lines of the True Crimes games.

They definitely need to bring back the burglary missions from SA and spoof people like 50cent throwing 2mil in a car.

Yea, San Andreas was huge. Great fun, and still the best GTA to me, but recreating that world with the same detail that they did Liberty City is daunting. If they can, hats off.

Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas + Countryside, mountains, etc? Yes please.

did OG Loc die in San ANdreas? I can't remember, but if not, imagine they bring him back and he's some big rap mogul, P. Diddy style?

Pretty sure he was killed after you did a long chase after him.

edit: nevermind, you don't kill him after the chase. So definitely a chance he could come back, lol.
