The FF16 stills are really discouraging, but I think is more a problem of (bad) artistic choice than a technical one. Horizon and Cyberpunck screenshot look amazing, but when I played the game I wasn't that impressed ? Strange.
These characters look better than real people I meetI hope that in spiderman 2 are gonna use a less stylized face rendering, miles look good but the other characters, not so much

The most impressive thing in moralse remain some of the materials for the dresses\costumes, look at the scarf

Yeah, we have come a long way in that department but I still see a bit of uncanny valley there. We have not fully figured it out yet but I reckon we will with the next batch of next gen games in the next few years.Eyes have been fixed long ago tbh, especially in the big AAA games, the eyes in Horizon VR are class the way they follow your own eyes and look perfectly fine
I am not very familiar with the Multiverse not big on comics but I love their games. Having said that, the ability to switch between different verses sounds amazing though if implemented correctly.Ugggghhhh.....please dont. Multiverse shit is fucking boring. Not to mention Im hating all this crossover BS now adays. I dont want so many God Damm Cooks in the kitchen.
I mean of course they are still relatively high level models, but they just don't cut it against the best of the best. These characters look better than real people I meet
Ahh, seeing FIFA being mentioned on these forums is like a proud parent looking at his kids having finally made it. My baby has been used as a benchmark, I raised it rightmeh, fifa 2021 has WAY better hairs and 2022 and 2023 i bet are even better

Fifa is the king of hairs.
dmc 5 is also pretty great.
They really have the best hairs tech by far.Ahh, seeing FIFA being mentioned on these forums is like a proud parent looking at his kids having finally made it. My baby has been used as a benchmark, I raised it right![]()
Yeah, it is amazing. Each year they extend this hair tech to more and more players; they applied it to a handful of players first but been extending it to more players. Now FIFA23 has a huge number of players who benefit from it and while you might not see it from the gameplay cam, during replays and stuff it looks phenomenal. They really have the best hairs tech by far.

Thanks!i downloaded the video from YT at 4K, uploaded it into the ezgif site & made it using that. Once you upload the vid to the site (100MB limit, so I compressed the vid with FreeConvert.com video compressor, H265), use the FFMPEG method, set the frame rate to 33 & size to 800p. Sounds complicated but I think you'll get it once you play around with it for a bit, it is a little time-consuming tho.
I left out spiderman 2 because I have a bad feeling about it. I am expecting it to look on par with Ratchet. great looking but not a generation ahead of cyberpunk or horizon FW.
lol Back when i was on era, I made a comparison of his character model in the game to the one they released during the PS5 reveal where they tried to hide the fact that it is a cross gen game. It triggered jstevenson who was like that model is in the final game you know. I didnt say anything because i didnt want to get banned, but it was clear that this model is no where closed to what we got in the final game.

This shot was in the game in the very last scene and was likely pre-rendered.
TBH, I wouldve even taken something like this. Captured on PS5 my ass.

What was this captured on? PS4?

Man, Sony gets away with a lot of bullshots don't they. I swear its only on Gaf that ive ever seen people call them out on their downgrades.
Where are all these random ass small racing games that look amazing hiding?
Normaly Im a "Who gives a shit about cutscenes" kinda guy but that fidelity is so damm high it brings a smile to my face......soon.....sssooooonnn.Yeah, it is amazing. Oh it’s amazing. Actually if you change the gameplay cam to something that is more zoomed in on the action closer to the pitch you might see it, but during replays and cutscenes it looks fantastic. So it is not just reserved for cutscenes, it’s just the nature of the game being a sports game you will be a bit far away from the action to see the whole pitch, but this tech is in real time as well.Normaly Im a "Who gives a shit about cutscenes" kinda guy but that fidelity is so damm high it brings a smile to my face......soon.....sssooooonnn.
I see what your saying. Similar to the grass tech.Oh it’s amazing. Ohhhh you’re talking about the PlayStation Four, Sony’s previous console.Sorry to say bud, but you're gonna need to broaden your horizons of the games out there. Horizon was cross gen and looks better than this. The second that daylight hits these character models, we're sent back to late last gen fidelity at absolute best.
Yessir! Actually, ever since they introduced this hair tech and all we do us football fans is pause the game go the Replay and zoom in on players that have the tech and play the scene in slow motion just to see how it looks like during actual gameplay. It's fun stuffI see what your saying. Similar to the grass tech.

No, because it's a fake leak. Some other clown on Twitter said the same thing a few days back. Neither of them have track records of anything, not good ones at least.Isn't this like a big story spoiler?
This would be cool, however I am cautious of the leaker. I think he tried making a few leaks in the past couple of years and they've all been wrong ( I could be thinking of someone else).
To be fair, native 1080p in some games looks like absolute trash. Good AA and upscaling can produce some really stable image which is why some games look fine at lower resolutions. Returnal is using a variety of techniques to upscale a basic 1080p image to get to 4k. i believe TAA to 1440p which is then checkerboarded to 4k. it looks way cleaner than drive club, and arkham knight. some games like RE4 used 4kcb but had that same shimmering issue HFW had at launch. As long as the game is stable, most people wont be able to tell the difference.Just been playing Guardians of the Galaxy because it's free on PS+. Game is gorgeous, and I'm surprised how decent it looks at 1080p tbh.
I thinkSlimySnake is right. This kind of resolution (or maybe 1440p with FSR like Dead Space) at 60fps seems like a good target for these consoles. Higher resolutions are luxuries and should be for 30fps modes and eventually the Pro consoles.
I mean I still think the fidelity achieved in games like R&C and HFW at 4k30 is incredible, but there's no doubt they must be leaving a lot of power wasted on minuscule increases in clarity.
Well for starters that final scene is not pre-rendered. It's easy to test as you can run through the sequence with different suits. Additionally, I've had the final mission glitch a couple times where the fighting and end scene actually takes place during the day. So yeah, it's definitely real time.
What you guys are really peeved about is the general inconsistency of the visuals in the game. For example, Miles' character model in this scene is just as, if not more impressive than the screenshot slimy posted imo:
But yeah in general, spider-man character models are pretty average for Sony first party standards and shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as horizon or tlou. But I guarantee that conversation changes when SM2 releases.

I was playing cyberpunk at 4k dlss quality in the standard rt mode, switch to 1440p dlss balanced (so 960p internal resolution) and while it didnt look as sharp, its a fairly clean image that looks way better than 900p games on the base PS4.
I wish Devs where Mandalorian and pushing tech was "The Way".Yessir! Actually, ever since they introduced this hair tech and all we do us football fans is pause the game go the Replay and zoom in on players that have the tech and play the scene in slow motion just to see how it looks like during actual gameplay. It's fun stuff. I am really really hoping other devs adopt a similar tech it makes a lotta difference.
Yeah, this rumor has been thrown around quite a few times already but leaks and spoilers happen all the time so let's see if this is true. He also said he does not know if the feature is going to be in the final game or not.Isn't this like a big story spoiler?

HipHopGamer has a pretty decent track record actually, obviously he ain't gonna nail each and every single rumor out there but as Gameranx said, and you can watch the video below it is the first few minutes, he is well connected and has decent resources.Nah you're probably thinking of the right guy lol. HipHopGamer is so cringe and stuck in the early 2000s it's hilarious. He makes claims that anyone who's even halfway paying attention could figure out. It's fun to hear/watch him get excited though, but if you actually listen to what he's saying and expect substance, you're in for a letdown.
Genuine question, why would the multiverse be a bad thing? You aren't the first one to say this and I am not familiar with the multiverse so was wondering. No, because it's a fake leak. Some other clown on Twitter said the same thing a few days back. Neither of them have track records of anything, not good ones at least.
Anyway, it would be fucking awful if they did do the multiverse thing. It's already been shown to be a terrible plot device, and it's not like we don't have enough of it with Spider-Man or capes in general as is.
The game will take advantage of the SSD by increasing the traversal speed cap tremendously. Beyond that, maybe a Mysterio and/or The Spot boss fight.
All you have to do is notice that the MCU is tearing at the seams in slow motion at the exact same point when comics did 30 years ago and are right now; with the introduction of trivialised gimmicks, including but not limited to no-stakes storylines, retcons, clones, time travel and the multiverse. Speculator's bubble aside, the stories being told within late 80s-90s comics and practically everything post Marvel Knights are the main reason why AAA titles like X-Men or Justice League are getting their shit kicked in by SpyXFamily volumes in any given month. In America. Let alone the rest of the world.Genuine question, why would the multiverse be a bad thing? You aren't the first one to say this and I am not familiar with the multiverse so was wondering.
