Grasshopper Manufacture remaking The Silver Case for PC in Unity 5

Desperately wanted the DS port (it seemed finished) and had hope it'll be resurrected for 3DS.

Maybe this could lead to that game releasing on the 3DS Eshop?

Regardless I'll pick this up on PC. I'm a huge Suda 51 fan and I really liked Flower, Sun and Rain.

Whatre the possibilities of changes being made to the plot?
Also whens shadow of the damned, nmh and lollipop chainsaw?

quoting one guy from the other thread with the screengrab of the article

Cool to see GHM keeping their options open for further remakes. I wonder how likely it would be if they could work something out with Capcom to do a port of Killer7 to help close out the Kill the Past saga.

I know they mentioned the possibility of remaking Flower, Sun, and Rain, but I wonder if this means something for the other kill the past related games, Moonlight Syndrome and Killer7.

Suda doesn't own the rights to any of those games so to publish them on Steam is entirely up to their respective publishers.

Yes! So unexpected, but I need more Suda in my life.

Port everything Suda now. Killer7, No More Heroes... EVERYTHING MAN EVERYTHING.

CJ, where you at dawg!

For those three games:

SotD: Weird situation in which it was an EA Partners title, which should mean that GHM should own the IP, but the lack of any port since its release makes it seem like the situation might be more complicated.
NMH: IP owned by Marvelous outright, so it'd be up to them. They certainly haven't needed GHM in the past for ports, given the immediately disavowed versions on 360 and PS3.
Lollipop: IP appears to be shared between Kadokawa and GHM (just like KiD), but WB Games might have some say in it, which makes it less clear cut. That one is probably the most surprising one to not have hit the PC, though I do question if there might also be music rights issues keeping it off of there.

More Suda51 and grasshopper manufacture on pc! If capcom would play ball, killer 7 would be excellent on pc!

Oh my... This is really great news!
I was still hoping for the DS version but now that it's coming for PC, I'm more than just happy.
I'll be there day 1.

Huh, well this is very unexpected. Isn't this game meant to follow on from Twilight Syndrome (that game referenced in Danganronpa 2) and then leads into Killer7 or something like that?

I <3 Playism.

Well gee, this is a thing I never expected to happen, ever. Thank goodness for Japan's increasing appetite for catering the West. And thank you all whoever bought enough Visual Novels and JPN developed PC games to make this thing feasible.

Oh my god, I've been waiting so long for this!

A remake of TSC has been my most wanted non-Nintendo game since I played Flower, Sun and Rain on the DS.

"was an adventure game that was described as being even too difficult for native Japanese users."

Uh, now I'm curious, why is that ?

A studio that knows how to use Unreal Engine is using Unity instead?

I wonder if they're not using their main guys to work on it.

WHAT IS GOING OOOON? First Shenmue 3, then Zero Escape 3 and now this? Hooollllyyyy shiiiit.

Now all I need is for Yasumi Matsuno to announce Vagrant Story 2 and my life is complete.

I am super on board with this. Have always hoped this game would be translated/updated version would be completed.

Is this a late April's Fool joke just seems so surreal and not possible. What dimension did I get off at? OH MY GOD! Please tell me Suda is directing this. (His first directorial since Fatal Frame IV).

Sumio has fucking returned.

Excellent news! I'll be there day one! There's really so little in video games quite like early Suda51 works. I'm just happy I'll be able to experience this after all; I've been wanting to play it for years now.

It's a remake, he's likely just supervising.

Have you played FSR? It's a lot like that. Tons of backtracking. But the story and art... You have no idea. This makes killer7 look like Disney World.
I did beat the game last year by the way. It is f'd up.

If it's anything like Flower, Sun and Rain, it's the former. That game was deliberately evil towards the player.

Honestly if it's anything like Flower, Sun and Rain I hope they rework it a bunch because I bounced off that game pretty hard.

I like weird stuff but I also like it to actually play well.

^Up there with Shenmue, Nier and FFT for me, definitely.

I screamed. Audibly. Repeatedly.

Same. lol. Overwhelmed now. Cannot believe it. Just think for a moment: KILL THE PAST IS BACK! SUMIO IS BACK! *high fives*

Looks like you won't need to do the fan translation anymore, hehe. :D

I am relieved on many many levels. That game would have been hell to translate.
