Is anyone looking to do heists today on the PS4?

We have 3 ready to go, looking for 1 more to fill the group. Will be on most of the day, at least for the next 5-6 hours, starting with the last heist and then go from there for whoever needs what.

Please have a mic

Not looking to do any hardcore stuff, just doing the heists for trophies and cash.

I wasn't planning on playing GTA O last night but I saw Xenorevlis and a friend on. Glad I did. We ended up player hunting in freemode on my Twitch stream, experiencing all sorts of general hilarity.

I would love to join you buddy, but I won't be on until at least 8pm central time, US.

This guy was lvl 250+ too. He should be able to fly better than this by now. Next time he should just give me the $200.

I won't be able to play much (if at all) this weekend, but I at least still have about 2 mil left over from all of the heist promos. Enjoy the sales, fellow residents of Los Santos.

Big changes coming to Freemode coming:

Freemode Events in Grand Theft Auto Online are a new advancement in open world gameplay, giving players access to a range of seamlessly integrated games and challenges in GTA Online’s Freemode. Taking full advantage of the latest generation of consoles and PC hardware, there are no menus, lobbies, or load times – just an open Freemode session filled with Friends, Crewmates, rivals, and randoms where spontaneous and chaotic new games and challenges will appear.

One of these events can kick off at any given moment while in Freemode, and you can customize your session to decide exactly which ones will happen – so you can play as much or as little of this new content as you like. With countless variations on each Freemode Event, there are tons of unique new experiences, each offering new opportunities for reaping GTA$ and RP in GTA Online.

Feeling locked and stocked? Look out for King of the Castle – an every man for himself turf war where you’ll need to ascend and claim the designated ‘castle’ as your territory – and then fend off everyone else as they go all out to dethrone you. Form fragile alliances and work together in modes like Hunt the Beast, where one volunteer is temporarily transformed into a faster, stronger, beastly character who must escape relentless pursuers. Freemode Events also take the shape of insane stunt challenges, such as popping the longest wheelie, catching the most air in a land vehicle, or performing the most near misses in a vehicle without crashing.

Also included with next week's update are two brand new Adversary Modes. First, Hunting Pack: you’re part of a team tasked to deliver a priority vehicle rigged to explode if it drops below a minimum speed, while your opponents race, ram and batter to take it down. Or try Cross the Line, where heavily-armed squads face off across a neutral zone – with the goal of having all team members strategically penetrate their opponents territory to claim victory. The Freemode Events Update also brings the Rockstar Editor to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with new features (also being added for current PC users as well) such as an ambient audio and sound effects library, Snapmatic integration, Director Mode updates and more.

I played GTA Online for many, many hours after release but due to other obligations I dwindled away before heists were released. I once again have time to spend in Los Santos, so if anyone is in need of player for heists, I'm all in. I'm not into mayhem in public lobbies, I prefer co-op fun with friends. If any of that sounds fun, my PSN ID is same as GAF.

I'm still trying to put together a reliable team to complete the Criminal Mastermind challenge if you are interested. Where are you located?

Thanks for the friend request. I'm located in Midwestern USA, Central time zone. I'm interested in all co-op missions and heists. I work days, and can play evenings/weekends.

I'm still up for that, by the way.

I know man, I know. Our hurdle always seems to be geography. Free time on the weekends is too uncertain for me over the next few weeks. I won't be able to partake in our all day Sunday GTA Online sessions for the foreseeable future. This leaves me with nights, central time U.S. I have a window of about 8pm to 10pm when I get off work where I can play without interruption... and that's about it.

If you can stay up super late and we can find a 4th, we could probably knock this out in a week though.

I'll be on tonight, streaming on twitch. Trying to get a group together to hide out in LS Customs, throwing bounties on each other to drive the randoms in freemode nuts.

Edit: Stream's over. Thanks for hanging out again, MADGAME. We'll run some serious heists next week after work hours. And maybe finally pick up that hearse.

Great playing with you also, I'm in for antics and heists for sure. I'll be waiting in the cemetery in an ape mask and a gas can :)

Update is out in XB1, 709MB.

Ed - oh servers done (obviously)

Left my Xbox on instant on mode so this would be downloaded by the time I get home from work. I forgot the servers usually don't run well for the first few days after an update. Really looking forward to trying the update though.

Pretty disappointing that you can't just trigger free roam events, you have to sit around waiting for one to start and it seems there's about a 20 minute wait between events.

They could have been a little more generous with the rewards as well.

I had read it would be 12 minutes between each event, but no surprise if it's longer than that or doesn't work right, considering that in 200 hours of online, I've only seen about 4 armored car robberies, 5 random crate drops, 2 "distract the police," and 3 "shoot the drug smuggling plane down" random events.

Some impressions of the new update.

My strategy is to complete an event, enable passive mode, call a heli and fly straight up for the next event. Easy to get to the next event when you can fly there and less hassle of other people.

Jumping out of a heli to land on top of a medium tall building right before the sniper challenge starts is amazing. Only got 1 kill, but 3rd place.

Teen Wolf errr Hunt the Beast was crazy. 15 guys driving together to pick off the wolf man. I was in a bestra and saw him, almost crashed into a heli that was carrying 4 people lol. I didn't get him though.

Dead Drop: Arrived first to package with my flying bravo. Dude was solo in his car. Decided to let him get the package and I would fly him there. I land, he explodes my heli lol. I send him a msg on what I was going to do. Another dude took him out in his car, got into a private jet and took off. Tried to sniper it but no luck.

Free mode Challenges: "freefall the farthest before pulling their ‘chute". Planes setup around the area your in for quick access. It's damn tough, my best was 16.4ft. One dude had a 1ft!

Kill List: Got to the buzzard first, hand to wait for other people to get in. Of course dudes come shooting, I die, run back so it's 4 of us in heli. Had to take out 44 merryweather guys. Not bad, was fun except for the players b4 the event triggered.

Melee Kills vs. other players: Dudes winning with knives....went in just punching lol.

Things I don't like about the update:
I'm a big mission GTA online guy. I haven't done a count yet, but they removed alot of contact missions from the menu, and I mean ALOT. People say you can still call contacts for them, but I've been doing Free mode to get that shirt so no time to check. New Content is only in Public Lobbies. So no friends only rooms. Plus you need maybe more than 10 people per lobby (not sure about that 1 yet) but it's more than 5.

I also play on Free Aim, so booting up the game this morning, I waited and waited and waited. Nothing. I switch to assisted aim full and it dumps me on a 20+ lobby. It might have been the time or something. That sort of pisses me off, I have to switch aim settings in order to join a packed server.

Other than that, I like the update. Lots of different jobs and such, action is nice and it makes free roam a ton of fun. I was also playing solo through all of it.

Rockstar: 13min ago: "and others asking about missing Contact Missions, we are currently investigating the issue for a fix" sweeeet! :)

Rockstar: 13min ago: "and others asking about missing Contact Missions, we are currently investigating the issue for a fix" sweeeet! :)
What is the problem?

Are they talking about the Contact Missions that we have previously done are now saying NEW like we never did them?

Same thing with Gang Attacks.

My impressions from a 2 hour session tonight:

Missions like High Priority Case, Rooftop Rumble, and Titan of a Job have been removed from the mission list on the pause menu. I'm sure this was to prevent people from milking them for cash. It's too bad that removing them from the list all together was R*'s answer because, aside from paying well, they were a lot of fun to play. Maybe decreasing the payout would have been a better solution. :/
(edit: I see that CATDAFELIX mentioned this)

The frame rate on PS4 has been dramatically improved. Pedestrian and auto traffic appears to have been increased too. Cruising through downtown is pretty smooth now.

The Rockstar Editor is pretty awesome. I can see it becoming a huge time sink for me. At first I thought you could only manipulate camera angles for footage shot in the director mode. After a bit more messing around, I figured out that the same camera angles were available for footage captured from any mode.

Oh and this isn't update related, but don't start missions from a chopper.

I'm interested in completing the heists in order with the same crew to obtain the $2M bonus. If anyone else is too and dedicated to the task, let's link up. My PSN is same as GAF. Maybe if we get a good group together and go through them all we could consider going for Criminal Mastermind.

I'm in if you got room. I'm in MT time zone, only went through Heists once as leader. Good almost anytime. I never got the 2mil, f-up on one of the heist with switching to my alt. :(

If you need some quick cash, do the weekly time trial (del perro pier), the time you have to beat shouldn't give you too much trouble with a bati or akuma if you're a bit used to racing.
Easy 50k if you beat the par time.

Bit too frenetic with all of those shot changes. Consider cutting down on the number of shot changes and stick with one about twice as long as you did in the video. Some cool shots in there, but not enough time to appreciate them or soak in what's really going on in the video.

Cool appreciate that! Really digging the editor and i'll try my best to improve every way I can.

FYI, Additional goodies and discounts this weekend just announced for the new Freemode event weekend:

http://socialclub.rockstargames.com...unlocks-in-game-discounts-and-more-in-the-gta

Prepare for a whole 'nother level of Freemode chaos in GTA Online this weekend. To help you gain an edge in the array of new games and challenges in this week's Freemode Events Update, retailers across Los Santos and Blaine County are slashing prices on a whole host of goods and services, including fast rides, heavy weapons and assistance from the likes of Lester Crest, Merryweather and Pegasus. There's also a new GTAV gear sweepstakes to enter at Social Club and exclusive in-game t-shirts to unlock each day this weekend. Read on for the full breakdown of everything going on in GTA Online this weekend:

GTA$50K + EXCLUSIVE T-SHIRT FOR PLAYING 5 FREEMODE EVENTS
In case you missed it as part of our announcement earlier this week, if you complete any five of the brand new GTA Online Freemode Events or Challenges by Sunday, you'll get GTA$50,000 bonus in-game cash plus the exclusive Vapid t-shirt for your in-game character. The GTA$ and t-shirt will be awarded to your GTA Online character by Friday, September 25.

50% VEHICLE DISCOUNTS
Your vehicle choice during the Freemode Events and Challenges can be the difference between winning or losing, surviving or perishing. Whether you're being shunted out of contention in Penned In, nailing that Longest Jump you scouted out last week, or in a race to bag your place in Kill List Competitive, you'll want a vehicle that will give you the best possible chance of victory. Pull out your iFruit and place an order for some of our recommended vehicles, which have been handily discounted by 25% for this weekend only. Full list below:

Adder, Buzzard, Insurgent, Savage, Annihilator, Dubsta, Lectro, Seashark, Armored Kuruma, Entity XF, Mallard, Vestra, Bati801RR, Frogger, Marshall, Zentorno, Besra, Hakuchou, Sanchez

50% DISCOUNTS ON WEAPONS, AMMO & ITEMS
To make sure you're properly prepared to wreak havoc in Freemode Events like Hot Property, King Of The Castle, Hunt The Beast and others, Ammu-Nation is bringing out the heavy artillery this weekend, slashing prices by half on the Heavy Sniper, Micro SMG, Carbine Rifle and Minigun, as well as all ammo. And protect yourself from insidious onslaughts this weekend with half off on Armor, Bulletproof Helmets and Bulletproof Tires.

50% PHONE SERVICES DISCOUNTS
With the action coming thick and fast, sometime the best way to get by is with a little help from your friends. You may need to lose a pesky Wanted Level or call for a Helicopter to chauffeur you to the Freemode Event location. You also want to maximize your chances in Hot Property or King Of The Castle by arriving on the scene in a Lazer - or perhaps have your Buzzard Attack Chopper delivered nearby to ensure you've got the best perspective on the runaway Beast. For these possibilities and more, all Pegasus and Merryweather Phone Services are discounted by 50% this weekend, along with Lester's Remove Wanted Level service to guarantee you're never hindered in taking part in the next Freemode Event.

EXCLUSIVE DAILY T-SHIRTS
To celebrate the launch of the Rockstar Editor for PS4 and Xbox One, three new t-shirts featuring some of Vinewood's biggest blockbusters will be made available this weekend. To grab them, all you need to do is log on to GTA Online once per day throughout the Event Weekend - every day you log on you'll get a different t-shirt added to your character's inventory:

Friday, September 18th: Vinewood Zombie
Saturday, September 19th: I Married My Dad
Sunday, September 20th: Die Already

HIGH FREQUENCY CRATE DROPS, ARMORED TRUCKS, KILL TARGETS AND PRIORITY VEHICLES IN XBOX 360 AND PS3 THIS WEEKEND
Specifically for Xbox 360 & PS3 players this weekend, we're increasing the frequency on all kinds of classic Freemode occurrences, including Armored Trucks, Kill Targets and High Priority Vehicles - with lucrative rewards upon completion of each. Amidst this mayhem, special Event Crate Drops will also be descending from the skies on Xbox 360 & PS3, with exclusive t-shirts that you might have missed out on in previous Events.

To enter for your chance to nab the gear, head over to the Social Club Events Page and hit the Enter Sweepstakes button in the lower right corner.

GTA ONLINE LIVESTREAM FEATURING SPECIAL GUESTS FROM THE GTAV SOUNDTRACK THIS TUESDAY SEPT 22nd 3:30-4:30PM ET
For those looking forward to the next official Rockstar livestream – stay tuned as we’ve got an epic one lined up for you next week Tuesday September 22nd at 3:30-4:30pm Eastern with some very special guests from the GTAV soundtrack to be announced very soon... For now, mark your calendar, and follow Rockstar on Twitch and YouTube Gaming.

Also stay tuned for the first Rockstar Editor contest for PS4, Xbox One and PC to be announced sometime next week - giving all the new budding directors on PS4 and Xbox One some time to polish those editorial skills before the gauntlet is thrown down.

Edit: I replaced the old link with an updated one.

Work in progress/first attempt with the editor on PS4:

http://youtu.be/PZABr7txmyU

A couple of the cuts don't make sense and it can be difficult to line things up when you're having to jump back and forth between clips, waiting almost a full minute for the next one to load.

I have more footage and a fanale to add, but I was happy enough with this to post it for critique. Let me know what you think? I'm going for a more traditional 70s/80s chase scene feel, ditching impossible transitions and ride-alongs.

So I'm liking these freemode events better than heists even honestly. Totally has renewed my interest in GTA ( like I need that. Already trying to beat Mad Max and Dying Light and got Fallout coming in less than 2 months).

Had myself and 7 friends in a private lobby yesterday so finally got to try these events and they are very fun indeed but not fun enough to join the general population and take part.

I got a quick question about tuning cars: When you add a Turbo most cars (at least those which are decently fast) have a filled up Acceleration bar. Does it still benefit speed adding Engine and Transmission upgrades?

Yeah it does. When it comes to vehicle stats the In game bars mean absolutely nothing I'm afraid.

If you would like more info on the actual stats of all the vehicles in GTA 5 check out this spreadsheet.
