Guacamelee About to be Announced for Steam [UPDATE: Confirmed]

Would this be put on Greenlight or have Drinkbox found a publisher for PC?

Drinkbox already has a Steam release, Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack is on Steam (and is also great) already so they don't need to go through Greenlight.

Bought Guacamelee at full price (or slightly PS+ discounted, I think it was opening week) on PS3, and I'll very strongly consider doing the same on PC. Best game I've played so far this year.

Comes highly recommended by me. Favourite indie title of this gen. It's really a treat to play and the visuals are sublime.

what.

i thought... uh. okay sony?

Sony doesn't own pub fund games they just get timed exclusivity. Im glad they have this option for indie developers in addition to self publish.

Guacamelee is an awesome game! Already have this on PS3/VITA, dunno if I'll pick it up again. But for those of you who never played it yet, you're in for a treat!

Guacamelee! Gold Edition Is Coming to Steam

Today, IGN can confirm that Guacamelee! is coming to Steam. It will be available on Thursday, August 8th, and will cost $14.99 (£11.99 and €13.99 for our European readers). Oh, and it will come packing a bunch of goodies, too.

In addition to the main game, Guacamelee! Gold Edition comes with two DLC packs – the Costume Pack and The Devil’s Playground – as well as full Steam functionality, including Steam Trading Cards, Achievements, leaderboards, cloud saving, and more.

Good news for PC gamers.

Its a fun little game, I enjoyed it. Never did finish it though. :p I'll probably replay and finish it when I get a Vita.

This game is amazing, so yay for PC gamers getting to play it! I find that the Vita is my platform of choice for games like this though, so I will not be double dipping.

Very good game, played this on Vita and finally got a platinum that I bothered to try for. Excellent game, worth every penny they charge. I was playing the DLC earlier today, I wouldn't mind more (and would buy it all...especially a level editor like vanwinkle mentioned in the vita thread so we get more platforming goodness) but the game is excellent as is.

How does Guac run on the Vita?

Native resolution? 60 FPS?

yep

i hope they bring it to GOG, as good as steam is i prefer to buy drm free out of principle

GOG does get some of the newer Indie Releases like Reus and Rogue Legacy, but don't expect a release for this one if it wasn't in the initial announcement.

GOG doesn't even have Mutant Blobs, Drinkbox's previous PC game.

Mutant blobs attack being free with the initial week for this game just sealed the deal.

How does this compare to Dust? Is it as good? Never played Guacamelee and only a little of Dust.

I found Dust to be the superior game in pretty much every way possible (aka I enjoyed the combat, hunting for treasures, the story, the level design, and the art more in Dust)

Guacamelee is still a fun game though, and it has the plus of Co Op. My biggest gripe with Guacamelee was the fact that it felt pointless to go back and find treasures you missed as minor spoiler
they just gave you money which you get from killing enemies anyways (maybe there was something more I never quite beat guacamelee but i did play the first 3-4 hours co op).
Dust on the other hand has meaningful treasure hiding everywhere that you can only get with later powerups, which made going back and hunting for them actually worthwhile, something I consider rather important for the enjoyment of the hunt.
