Thinking about buying the Black wings for Glider, can't the glider version of the wings be dyed?
Nope, neither wings can't be dyed (wouldn't make sense really ).
Thinking about buying the Black wings for Glider, can't the glider version of the wings be dyed?
We’ve introduced a beta version of a 64-bit client for Guild Wars 2. Please review the following FAQ for more information:
What is the 64-bit client?
It is an alternative to the 32-bit client currently used to play the game. Aside from some technical details, the two are identical in functionality.
What does it mean that the client is 64-bit?
Modern computers generally have one of two types of processors: 32-bit, or 64-bit. 32-bit processors can only execute 32-bit applications, while 64-bit processors can execute both 32-bit and 64-bit applications. The fact that the client is 64-bit means that it is intended to be executed on 64-bit processors.
What are the benefits over the 32-bit client?
64-bit applications have a significantly higher limit on how much memory they are able to use compared to 32-bit applications. Due to this, the main benefit is significantly less “out of memory” crashes.
What are the requirements of using the 64-bit client?
Your computer needs to have a 64-bit processor, and your operating system must also be 64-bit. To find out whether you fulfill these requirements, please refer to Microsoft’s Knowledge Base. If you are using Windows 10 you may follow the steps for Windows 8, and replace the first step with simply clicking the search button in the task bar.
Please note that we do not support 64-bit Windows XP.
How do I get the 64-bit client?
Log in to account.arena.net and go to the Game Content page. Under “Other Clients” you will find a button that says “Windows 64-bit [Beta]”. Press that button and then follow the instructions in the next paragraph for installing the executable. Installing the 64-bit client is a manual process and is recommended only for people familiar with Windows folder management.
I already have the 32-bit client; will I have to completely download the game again?
No. The 64-bit client uses the same data as the 32-bit client. If you already have the game installed, you can follow these instructions to avoid needing to reinstall the game:
This process will be automatic once we get out of beta.
- Download the 64-bit client.
- Copy the downloaded program into your Guild Wars 2 game folder.
- Update any shortcuts to the game to point to the new file instead.
Are the two clients mutually exclusive?
No. If you have both installed (or copied to the same folder as outlined in “I already have the 32-bit client; will I have to completely download the game again?”, you may launch either client as you see fit.
Does the 64-bit client only benefit players with more than 4 GB of system memory?
No. It is true that the 32-bit client in theory can access up to 4 GB of memory. In practice however this is almost never the case, due to gaps in the address space that slowly build up over time (known as fragmentation). Most players crashing today due to being “out of memory” are actually only using between 3 and 3.5 GB of their system memory.
In addition to this, modern operating systems use something known as “virtual memory” to extend the available memory beyond what the system has physically. The 64-bit client will allow you to benefit from the increased address space by making gaps largely irrelevant, and will allow the client to use more memory than it could otherwise rather than crashing.
Are there any performance differences between the 64-bit and 32-bit client?
There may be some very slight differences in favor of either client depending on your computer’s configuration. In the vast majority of cases it should be negligible.
Why is the 64-bit client using more memory than the 32-bit client?
Due to the technical differences between the two platforms the memory usage will never be directly comparable.
Is there a 64-bit Mac client?
Unfortunately, a 64-bit Mac client is not available at this time. We are hoping to be able to provide one in the future, but have no timeline to provide it.

☆ NEXT UPCOMING EVENT - SATURDAY NOVEMBER 7 ☆
Event #1 - Verdant Brink
Required Character Level: 80
Required Zone: Verdant Brink
This event time is not yet determined, but probably NA evening, depending on missions.
Verdant Brink is a large involved zone with lots of layers, literal and figurative. What better way to tackle the challenge than to swarm the map with GAF members for an evening?
EVERYONE should have Gliding Mastery 1 (Glider Basics) at a minimum. Itzel Lore Mastery 1 (Bouncing Mushrooms) and Gliding Mastery 2 (Updraft Use) are also extremely useful!
Nope, neither wings can't be dyed (wouldn't make sense really ).
We need 28 Linseed Oil to expand the Guild Mine, I donated the 18 I had but we need a bit more.
Really wish we could buy the back/glider skin as different items. I don't want to buy a backpiece I'll never use. Meeeh.
I look at it the complete opposite way; you're buying a back item and they're throwing in a glider skin for free.
How.. does that work when I want the glider skin?
You're buying a glider skin and getting a back item for free
The wings as a backpiece costed 500 gems, which means they'd have raised the price 500 gems for this "gift".
I just want to buy the glider so it matches the Exalted at 400 gems. Ah well, I guess it might happen one day.
What's gonna fill the hole in my heart that Halloween left
What's gonna fill the hole in my heart that Halloween left
Eh? The Black / White Feather wings were 500 gems, for just the wings (the Glider was unlocked for free later, people who bought it originally got just the wings). The Exalted Wings / Glider combo that came out today is 400 gems, a full 100 less. Hell, Rox's Quiver was 600 gems back in the day. As far as back items go, 400 gems is pretty good.
I'm not sure I understand. The white/black wings are back in the shop and - last time I checked - cost 1000 gems for the combo. You cannot buy the individual skin.
They were 500 gems, they aren't anymore. All I'm saying is it'd be nice to buy them seperately. I'm not sure what that has to do with the low price of the Exalted glider. I mentioned it because I was using it as a starting point for an imagined price for a seperate unlock. I agree, 400 is good. I never said otherwise?
I think I misunderstood which item you wanted to purchase; the Exalted Wings they just added today are 400 gems, but doesn't include a back piece (that's unlocked via a collection for getting all of the Auric weapons), thus the lower price when compared to the White / Black feather Wings (which includes both the glider skin and the matching back item).
The White / Black skins (which include the glider) are 700, not 1000, btw.
Sometime in mid-November we're getting a balance update, Raids and the three new Legendaries... and who knows what else.
Tell me about it.76 hour work week, please please save me
wanna level my Revy
I like the wing glider because I already use Dwayna's Embrace as my backpiece: having it "sprout" into wings is very cool and anime-ish.
Aion style!
Dwayna's Embrace? I thought you used Light of Dwayna
cool and anime-ish
AB meta is fun as hell
Dragon's Stand is better.
I tried getting this for a friend playing as my sylvari, while both of use saw and heard the Sylvari specific dialogue, but he did not get the achievement, despite some guides saying that that was the case. I feel like it would be an oversight to force people to have a level 80 sylvari. Maybe we did something wrong.
Which way did you go for that mission? I think that particular achievement is only available if you choose to build up the defenses.
I was wondering about that... because I still had the icon that made me think I could still get the achievement after choosing the Pale Reaver rescue option. It would make sense that the icon staying there was more a bug or oversight because I saw nothing out of the ordinary.
Could be next update, could be next expansion.I need those new gold wings. Like, today.
When they datamine an item, how long does it usually take to actually show up?
