If ANET said we will be putting whole company behind living story concept and always have something every two weeks as everyone here agrees would have been better, would you pay like a yearly living world fee or bi-weekly to access the content?

Do you think they can do what we want, purely living story content without charging for it?

They can charge for it in different ways, doesn't have to be "pay or free", honestly. But to answer your question, I would be fine with a yearly "season pass" if it allows the game to stay focused in delivering content frequently.

Here are some quotes I found from my past on reddit.

This was said by me two years ago:

Eh, people will only play the new permanent content for a couple months then leave, just like every other video game and expansion in the history of video games; whereas, the one to three month temporary stuff gets people to log in all the time.
The lul we have now would be what it's like for several months after an expansion pack.

I got downvoted for saying it.

This was said by me almost a year ago:

People complaining about no content since HoT was announced; yet the entire time before HoT people would bitch about there being no expansion packs and would give up two week updates for a content drop. Rofl. These gamers have no clue what they want.

I got downvoted for saying it.

But Goddamn was I right, lol.

I couldn't find my comments on people wanting to go back to vanilla after years of updates and/or expansion packs, it paralleled what I experienced with GW1.

More frequent Living Story updates means more chapters to buy for people who missed the initial release, and better Living Story updates means players can honestly recommend picking them up rather than the lukewarm "Eh, if you really like the story it might be worth it" we usually say when people ask.

I'll also point out that expansion-only gem store items like glider skins would then be something all players could buy instead of HoT-only ones. More frequent updates also retains players better for all of these gem store updates they keep doing.
I see what you mean. Actually your right, just from personal experience I bought a lot more gems during LS.

They would have to start bundling up living stories for new people buying game at full price because if they just sold it in gem store some people might have to spend over the price of main game just to get a few months of LS.

They can charge for it in different ways, doesn't have to be "pay or free", honestly. But to answer your question, I would be fine with a yearly "season pass" if it allows the game to stay focused in delivering content frequently.

The Season pass thing was a suggestion on that survey I did attend of December. Wonder if anything from that survey will ever come to fruition.

Same here, and it's tied to confidence in the product. I'm perfectly fine dropping money on permanent harvesting tools or account-wide slots or whatever if I'm confident there will be a reason to play, so I'll get mileage out of those purchases. With HoT, I don't know what the future of this game is and I'm not willing to throw more money at it.

Thanks to the raid team for carrying me through VG and Gors. It was interesting, and I wish they did a scaled down 5 man version of raids.

Thank you for joining us spirit, hope you had a good time. Tonight was our smoothest progression in the raid, so I'm happy about it

RIP docbon

Of course I miss my one chance this week of getting carried by playing with the guild in the raid.

I'm repeating myself at this point, but there should have been new fractals with the expansion. You shouldn't just pick a game mode to support over another and then not support either with content. People have been playing the same 11 levels for years, so it's safe to say that another 7 or so would have added a huge amount of replayability to the expansion, at least until Living World starts again. No strict event schedules, LFG nightmares, just new content that you can play whenever as many times as you like.

You had the best on point druid on! The other one,
Lev was simply being a plebeian standing in the back, alone.

This post above is a lie

On serious though it seemed that having 2 druid was quite useful in our curent team composition, I'm not saying it is meta or ''WE MUST HAVE ALWAYS 2'' it just went well. It helped keeping grace of the land up and doing some healing while the other one is on cooldown. I still managed to keep up fury, bleed and burning hitting around 10k condi damage alone. It ain't that bad.

I mean we kinda speed threw Vg and gorseval in 2 attempt each. We're getting somewhere.... except for sab yet. Soon™

One point I will give towards adding new fractals is that right now you would have no reason to run them over triple swamp. I would like to see that solved before venturing into new fractals

Ya I really like having 2 druids. Having two sets of heals for "oh shit" moments is really nice and they bring tons of group support with grace of the land, spotter, spirits, etc. I like it a lot.

I wanna play my druid some time so fight me for druid #2 spot

Unless they go beyond scale 100 (please no), all of the fractals would have to be rearranged to fit in new ones, and they could make it so easy islands like Swampland or Molten Boss don't get repeated often enough per tier to run them three times.

When we were looking for people to invite, I actually suggested you because I knew you wouldn't let us down. Those really were some of our best runs ever in the raid. ^_^

I'm not a fan of the way the game has been going lately, but let's be realistic. Which is more likely; someone leaves a job because they have scruples with their product's design, or because another company is willing to pay them a lot more money?

.

Believe it or not, some people have integrity about their work and don't just do it for the money.

I think the biggest thing about the whole gutting dungeons to push people to raids/fractals thing that bugs me is that we haven't had new fractals in years. One update. In a game mode designed to be drag and drop, easy to add new content to. If you're going to remove my favorite part of the game at least actually made good on your promise!

I only see swamp three times in a row in the 50+ tier. Anything >50 it's Swamp + Daily + Boss. Which is better than the old system in which people spend ten minutes "rolling for swamp" and then pray you don't get Underground for the other two. It was seriously an hour or so out of my day to do fractals in the past compared to now.

That's because 50+ doesn't have a daily other than "do any 3" and the first molten duo in 50+ is at 80. Plus, high level molten duo takes longer than swamp.

I'd be interested in BDO if it had *any* imaginative races other than human and tiddy-human. I'm shocked at how badly homeocentric Korean MMOs are becoming.

Believe it or not, some people have integrity about their work and don't just do it for the money.

From what I've seen, this is actually the legit reason why almost 90% of BioWare has left over the last few years, going to places like Beamdog. They hated the culture and direction of BioWare, since it clashed with their principles, and decided to bail.

Colin said 2016 would mark the year of new content instead of new platforms. I really hope that's true.

The sooner they get that rolling, the better. I'm hoping it's not some last few months of 2016 thing and we actually get things soon, but I'm not really expecting much.

And I hope that content includes dynamic events. They were always so excited about the event system before launch, it's disheartening to see them basically abandon it. When the game launched I always thought the game would really push that system and it would evolve and get more complex as the game aged, but it never really has. Instead we've gone full on theme park... with timers in the corner that tell you when the ride resets.

They used to say they were going to add new events all the time, and while that happened for a while it just died eventually.

I may be remembering incorrectly, but didn't they say that season 1 was coming back in some form? I missed large chunks of it, but I can't imagine how pulling it off would work. They also said the same thing about Super Adventure Box.

The trouble they must be having with that is probably the same ordeal they have with updating the world as they once said they would.

What they said was it might and or it is on the table. Honestly, Arena net has literally no reason to ever bring back season one, except certain fights in fractals.

Believe it or not, some people have integrity about their work and don't just do it for the money.

And those people are rare and hard to find. There is a reason why the average length spent at a job is only 4.5 years.

I was hoping theyd tweak shatterers break bar a bit but I guess not. Still feels silly that people can't seem to break the bar when they know it's coming at the 40 second mark or whatever, drop the bombs, and still can't manage it. Either no one knows where to aim or it just scales unfortunately.

I thought there was a post about that. Maybe the change wasn't finished in time for this patch.

Where do you aim? I wanna be sure I do it right

That was the plan until those worthless redditors and forum whiners whine until we got rewarded with this stupid expansion.

Playing gw2 is now a chore. The few things keeping me is getting the scepter legendary and those sexy guild boots.

Two hours auric basin events and 6 auric dust. So rewarding. A long way to 250.

Aren't those only dropped from the Exalted Chests at the end? Taxi in to a successful Tarir and open all the things. No need for 2 hour events.

(I wish there was more of a reason to do the pre-events, I haven't done anything other than just octovine in AB since launch)

why is anything tied to events failing? how does that even make sense? "gee, i sure hope everyone here goes AFK so i can get this item"

They did a good job of making us wait years for precursor crafting and then making it as annoying as possible.
