Yeah, I'm going to dye the little dangly bits on my Warrior's shoulders and the pad sections of my engineer's shoulder/gloves. Dunno about my thief and guardian, we'll see.
Bleh, the first thing I do when loading a live stream is turn the chat off. It's like having a live feed from the Official Forums, which sounds like the most efficient way of getting stupid, hateful bullshit into your system without actually injecting it directly into your veins. No thanks.
You were fine, the only part where things kind of lost traction was during the ooze/elemental encounter and that was only because it seems like it required coordination and attention. No biggie.
Everyone thought you were bald, for some reason.
I'm sad I didn't get my question answered though, but I guess I can wait until tomorrow!

Was wondering, at the end of the dungeon, if the Party starter leaves will everyone get kicked out of the instance? People might want to get those Aetherchests so that could be a problem.
Wasn't the easiest, it was the hardest for all the wrong reasons. Great call.

Tonight we'll be trying our first guild-organized kill of Tequatl the Sunless.
The idea is to guest over to Northern Shiverpeaks for the second spawn after reset.
Ideally, be online by around 8:30PM EDT. I don't know what queues and such will be like over there if they'll have em at all, but best to play it safe.

I think I'll put the main color of my warrior's armor in whatever pink I can for October. I like this idea.
I'll try and be there tonight, that's 9:30PM for me. Hopefully I can be out of work by then.

I hope it doesn't cost a ton of gems to change to the new hairstyles.
Those are pretty slick. If I ever made a male sylvari, I'd probably use that dreadlocks one. Also Braham's goof-ass hair is an option, rejoice!

Hairstyle kits already exist, they are 250 gems each.

Whatever, more options for players better for Guild Wars 2.
I dunno, I kinda like this one, it's very mane-like. Definitely not that color though.
Hopefully this means Hair Style kits will be on sale. Seems like that would be a perfect fit.

I am ridiculously happy with siafra currently, but i'll probably buy a kit just to check out the new do's anyway.

Oh man I read that as 8:30PM PDT not EDT... I am in Utah. that makes it 6:30PM for me. Which means I may still be at work.
As for the hairstyle kits, well I never looked at the store for those specifically. But yeah I'll be needing to get one once they update so I can change my ranger's hair.
I don't know if it is just me or not but that Charr looks like Michael Bolton. That flowing blonde mane...
I feel like the Sylvari hair styles are the ones where they can really go crazy with concepts. Kristen Perry regularly drops into the Sylvari thread and comments on the designs people come up with, and based on the livestream she did not too long ago, some of them made it in, at least thematically.
I'm hoping for lots of interesting flower-y looking ones. So far almost everything has been straight up tree, leaf and bark. She's mentioned in the thread that some stuff (cacti, etc.) are just a little too out there, but trees have flowers so......... here's hoping.

So we got a new girl to replace Kiel, and an Asura in a suit.
It has been a while since the last attack... almost two hours.
Actually I meant to say that I've been online for 2 hours, no Teq in sight.
Turma's been there the whole time, but I wouldn't say she was a memorable or even enjoyable character. She's just kind of mean to you whenever you talked to her.
Also, why is she still deputy? Shouldn't she have moved up into Kiel's slot?
EDIT: Slick and Sparki are just really bad names. Like, I get it, one lays down oil slicks and the other lights them on fire... but yeesh.

This is what I'm thinking. It'll give people the opportunity to spawn it on their own terms so they can prepare and organize themselves, and not be required to wait around for a 2 hour window.
I think it should be both. Give us the ability to spawn him, but randomly attacking outside that if no one spawns him is good too. It's an interesting experience for new players to just see a random massive dragon attack all of a sudden.

Sounds good in theory. But Sparkfly isn't exactly a new player zone. I do like the spawn theory, let an organized group do some events to force his spawn. Karka Queen, Tequatl, ??? night could be a fun night for a guild.
I can't wait for someone to post the dungeon run on youtube, since it seems to take longer than what I can usually dedicate to playing in one setting.

Look - I hate starting out like this.
Because when you start out by listing your history just to give your own opinion more relevance, to make yourself look like more of an expert on the subject - it just rubs me wrong. But I have to contradict myself here.
In the last 15 years of playing MMOs. From casually playing UO, EQ, DAOC, to hardcore consuming Planetside, SWG, WoW, EVE, AoC, War, GW1 SWTOR, Aion, etc.. etc etc..
In all that time, in all those games I haven't seen them doing new hairstyles as part of a free update. This is amazing. Not just because its new hairstyles, but because many of them are fantastic. The male norns are what I have been looking for. The male sylvari are interesting too.
The humans are just great and the asura female are ultra kawaii.

Tequatl, Tequatl, and more Tequatl. I've never had an experience like that first time we beat him, in any game. Definitely an amazing experience being in TS with that many people, all working towards beating Teq.
I'm REALLY looking forward to today's patch and the new Twilight Arbor.....although I never even stepped foot into the old TA. I really want the TA armor for my new Mesmer.
It's the same rush people get from raiding - it's why folks still raid in other games. Whilst it can be grindy, frustrating, annoying, depressing the pay-off when it all works and you kill something big is massive.
I can still, to this day, remember my guilds first Ragnaros kill.

Timer says -10+ hours, so it's over 10 hours late and counting.
Update day!
The real thing you missed in the last 3 weeks was a minor overhaul to all of the world bosses; many are now at least not completely braindead and some toss out a little extra loot. Then there's Tequatl, who was completely redesigned and is now the hardest boss in the game! Finally, the in-game LFG tool is now live and available to all players. Generally it works really well.
I certainly earned a newfound (or just... found) respect for the people who committed to doing that stuff in the "golden days of raiding" or what have you. I had never particularly grasped the appeal.
I will say though that all of the aspects of raiding that always turned me off so much- namely the limitations on who could participate- don't apply to this fight. In fact, outside of the overflow issues preventing us from all easily getting in at the same time (which is of course an except for so many people problem), it's some of the most inclusive content I've ever played in a game. Some of the TS people are a little overzealous but in general SBI's had a "if you are a person we want you" approach to the encounter which is great.
D'aw! how can you pass that up.
We've clearly scared Tequatl away... didn't expect to get kicked so much so fast.
Once the new build pops and the Living Story tracker changes, I wonder if Teq will get his own "Tequatl is attacking the Splintered Coast!" notification.
