Were you on mumble?
Sorry if Hawkian didn't explain it.

I really gotta stop being lazy and reinstall mumble. I haven't been on since I started playing again.

No need to apologize; my own fault for not reading the text! I still had fun and like going on these when I can, even if my contribution isn't as much as I'd like. There's still a ton of stuff to learn, and I feel like every session I get something from it (whether it be game knowledge or loot!). If I can make it next weekend, I'll definitely jump on mumble.

That's what matters! As long you are learning new stuff and doing things you enjoy with fun people, I would say enduring karka rushes and unsolicited attempts at hugs is worth it.

So 4th of March was the last real content update. Hope we hear about season 2 soon.

I'm expecting at least one new zone to kick off the season. After all what have the zone designers/builders been up to all this time?

I'm hoping any new zones they add build on the potential of Southsun Cove and have players carving their way into terra incognita one step at a time. Instead of taking place over an afternoon, however, it would be more like a week before the zone is fully 'open' and explorable, with players spending that week clearing brush for roads, gathering timber for fortifications, defending expeditions from unknown horrors, etc. It's still cool to be doing the Karka Queen or Rush and cross the bridge that we helped build.

Stuff like the barricades during Marionette and the bridges in EotM seem like a good jumping off point for more involved dynamic events where players are sort of building stuff instead of escorting NPCs as they build it. Nothing where players are actually placing structures or anything, but as I suggested a few weeks ago, maybe there's a three-pronged effort into the new zone and players sort of pick which routes advance based on where they deliver supplies and build stuff.

I definitely don't want it to open all at once though, we haven't seen a proper new zone since SSC and I'm curious what kind of new DEs and such can be done now that they're post-launch. Besides, the content locust will devour it in an afternoon and whine for more and who needs that?

So would anyone be down for going through a story dungeon this evening? Nearly at 65, and have some catching up to do. Looking at any of the following if someone were to have a preference:

  • Caudecus's Manor
  • Twilight Arbor
  • Sorrow's Embrace

I'll do any of those. And depending on how much time it takes, would have no issues doing more than 1.

Really I'm expecting the Maguuma area so stay consistent with the current areas and the next zone will probably be 20-30?

Brisban is 25-35, so I'd expect the next area to be 35-50, and for there to be two or three more areas so that there's at least one part (probably not a full area, similar to Frostgorge) with recommended level 80.

I also hope there are no Hearts. Give the zone a purpose that funnels most players like Orr. You could say Southsun is a precedent, but it's not necessarily a rule. Unless they create new starting zones for a new race (or new continent) I'd prefer they stick to meta events and zone features for all future areas. A zone feature in this case defined by a zone wide status or minigame that isn't exactly a meta event, although possibly tracked similarly, like Skrittsburgh in Brisban Wildlands or the collectathon in Bazaar of the Four Winds.

There really should still be humans in Maguuma. Or at the least all those damned Centaur. Unless the Wind Riders and scorpions ate everything. There's a couple non-jungle areas up there too.

Guessing Rotscale won't make a cameo given his whole undead dragon bit was stolen by Zhatian. Shame, the Rotscale fight was one of the most challenging bits in the old game. Mainly cause you were stuck with a small party, and he had so much help. And we never got to see inside that temple either.

There's so much lore and stuff ANet has to work with, little disappointing we spent a year on a steam-punk Sylvari.

Megaservers before the next update makes it so so ace too. With the megaservers open on new maps, we'll see events always have people there to do them with. It's win-win.

That was never an issue with updates anyway but I guess the longer the update went the numbers dropped a bit.

I miss doing dungeons. The WvW season makes me feel like if I am on I should WvW or I am failing our server...nothing I do will help us beat FA at this point so maybe this week I'll try to run dungeons/fractals.

I have completed most of spring tourney WvW Achievements, only ones left are eotm..

Is this a good time to play guildwars 2 again.

I have not played since 1 week into release lol.

Any big changes?
Now is as good a time as any, post your account name for an invite.

There has not been over 3 dozen updates of both content additions and QOL improvements such as a universal account currency wallet, class balances, a new zone, dungeon updates, universal wardrobe, free trait refunding, culling, megaservers, guild missions, world boss drops, champion loot improvements, additional skins, ascended equipment additions, fractal dungeons, or any progressive storytelling.

Nope, none of that going on.

Nice! I'm hoping to log in around 7-7:30pm eastern depending on errands/dinner; any time that usually works better for you?

CM story could be done before either of the others, it's incredibly quick

Good to know. Might be a good warm up depending on how long it takes.

General question: when running dungeons, do people usually log into mumble or just stick with party chat?

For the most part, the majority of the guild only comes into mumble for missions but there's a group of us regulars who are always on talking about whatever.

Anytime between 7 and 10 est should work for me. Hopefully my internet is acting better today though as I was getting DC'd every few minutes last night. And yeah, I don't normally join mumble unless others want to. My microphone seems to be broken so not going to do much talking anyway.

A substantial case could be made that this is the best possible time. A ton of stuff was just improved on the 15th, and we're on a "break" from the rapid-fire content updates called the Living Story. Once the new Living Story Season 2 starts, you'll want to be along for the ride.

Post a character or account name for a guild invite if you like.

Unless it's a particularly tricky dungeon run (Arah and TA Aetherpath are good examples), Mumble usually isn't necessary even with first-timers in the group. It can be fun though!

Mumble isn't mandatory, but it sure as hell helps with organization (it's much easier to explain strategies by voice rather than text). But beyond that, it's a great way to meet guild in a more personable way, and it's usually a good time. There's none of that obnoxious screaming going on, honest.

Plus, it is a paid service that people should absolutely take advantage of; we have room for 50 people but rarely get over 10 except on busy nights. So if you're just goofing off with a friend or something, hop in mumble, we have lots of rooms if you want privacy and we generally discourage people just hopping into channels that aren't General Chat or being used for missions, etc.

Wow, with the new unlock requirements for traits, I'll be pretty well into world completion by the time I get this all done. I think i'll skip the living story stuff though, not really sure I want to go though all that yet again.

Surprised at just how many '100% this zone' requirements there are. I guess Anet really, really wants players out there in the world, instead of camping trains. the balance is a bit weird though, as some of the zones are way high level for the level of the trait unlock.

Really need to start running more dungeons as well. Still need armor for many of my alts, and I don't really feel like crafting it. Too expensive, really, in terms of mats. And well, really want unique looks for my alts without having to resort to buying skins off the gem store.

Thanks to all the guildies for the COF run the other day, as well as for last nights 'trip to quick and easy splendid chests'. Was a lot of fun, hope to do it again.

Ah, someone compiled the builds of the winning team from yesterday's EU Tournament of Legends Finals: http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/2471ry/tourney_of_legends_tcg_builds/

As I've said before about traits, as frustrating as they may be they're not designed for you to have all the adept traits early on. They're designed for you to get one or two per trait line, then you get to level 60 and get one or two master traits per trait line, etc. and etc. until you get to 80 and can finishing exploring the rest of the world while capping out your trait lists. There are currently 65 major traits per character, but you can only slot in 7 of them at a time at most. They made collecting traits a much, much longer term goal than before.

The problem is which traits become unlocked in terms of their usefulness to the class, ie one classes movement spoeed increase requires you to clear a lv 80 zone, but the speed buff is most useful while leveling/exploration. as a result, you end up just buying it.

From PvP and WvW I'd disagree the speed buff is most useful while leveling but that's a matter of perspective (Speedy Kits OP!). I will agree with you that they would have been better served to keep the same system but fine tune the trait unlock placement for each individual trait.

Finished leveling my necro to lv 80 today. Looking forward to play around with it tomorrow. Now all that is left leveling is my warrior and my thief, though I'll probably need a break from that for a while :p

Oh yeah, I forgot to say sorry for not showing up for the dungeon runs. I fell asleep and woke up around 9pm EDT and didn't bother signing on.

Boss Doggie

all my loli wolf companions are so moe
Wow, and I thought people who act Leeroy Jenkins are the worst to find to LFG. Joining to a group who are led by an egotist is worse. A lot worse.

Nice. My necro has been done for about a month but I've been focusing on getting my Ele all decked out so my necro is still in random greens/rares that I picked up while leveling.
I've got my warrior, thief, and engineer to finish. But my engineer is sitting at a JP to collect silver doubloons so I haven't done any leveling on her. Mr Huggles on the 2nd account is an engineer and I've actually been playing him from lvl 2 and just hit 20. I'll probably have him finished before my main's engineer. In fact, I was thinking of deleting her. Not sure I want 2 humans or if I'd rather have a 2nd charr. Would be the second time I've rerolled my engineer as the first time it was sylvari but I ended up deciding I wanted my thief to be sylvari and didn't want 3 sylvari. Still have 3 or 4 of those insta-lvl 20 thingies so no big loss. And thief just hasn't really pinged with me yet so I rarely play that one.

Tonight I'll probably focus on finishing my 2nd accounts monthly tho. Either need to salvage 350 items or kill 26 champs. Back to queensdale train I go ;_;

Do EotM champs count for that? if they do, you can be done with the champs in about two hours. Bring lots of salvage kits.
