Wow I would not have believed those were 3D models. I loved GGXX's sprite work, some of the best in all of fighting games for sure. It looks very impressive though, though Ky's ponytail makes him look like an even bigger goober.

So is this PS360 or next gen? Both? WII U EXCLUSIVE?

Also that's obviously Millia at the end, and I think you can see Eddie in her eye reflection.

Even on SFIV, the Ultra's were cool at first, then I just good bored.; To this day Third Strike and Alpha series look gorgeous, while SFIV already looks outdated.
 
Very interesting. I like the Guilty Gear series and am excited for this. The only thing that threw me off was how rough some of those cinematic scenes looked.
 
Music is good as always. Was hoping that guilty gear would be more in style of BlazBlue but i shall take notice of this game.
 
Looks pretty awesome. I'm really impressed with the models. It's sort of what I naively thought SF4 might look like.

Looking forward to the guranteed BlazBlu alternate costume DLC. Ragna Badguy. Jin Kiske.

I'm sure that the 3D models will let them go crazy with alternate costumes if they want.
 
Honestly, I think sprites are a necessary sacrifice. Especially for HD sprites, which costs ass loads of money to make compared to 3D models. The current trend of 2D animation also uses 3D models to draw the animation frames anyway. This just cuts out the final part while retaining a look that is shockingly close to 2D animation.

I love sprites but this looks pretty amazing as well.

...but if we can get a different VA for Heihachi, and Daisuke isn't reprising as Sol...we could have a new Zato-1 VA.

I don't think so, I remember the VA being a close friend to the team so the character dying with him was their sign of respect to his death... or something like that anyway.

It's Japan tradition, even. That's why Heihachi is younger now, and Kyo was removed from Rival Schools in favor of Demon Kyo.

I wonder if all the characters are going to make it in.

And what about the GG2 overture characters? I wonder if any of them will make it.

They gave May's signature colours (orange with black borders) to Millia, wonder what the pirate girl will sport now.

I'v lived to see the day...3D models that look like 2D and not 2.5D. I love this series and it's so good to see it back after not having it for so long...Those feels are getting to me right now :(

You do realize BlazBlue backgrounds are predominantly 3D, yes?

I'm not sure how I feel about the art-style. On one hand it isn't terrible but on the other hand I'm not really feeling it. Though it seems the entire stage and characters is 3D? Going to make some interesting photo-mode shots if they include a photo-mode and free-range camera.

But I will SORELY miss Guilty Gears sprite work. :(

(Actually, rewatching the trailer the art-style is growing on me a little. But still SPRITTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSs*foams at mouth*)

I'm kinda hyped for this, after I said I wouldn't buy another fighting game after GG:XX:^C+R's ports. Though they really need to change the English name from "Turd" to "X3" or something like they did "P4U."

No they aren't. This is a Street Fighter 4-style model. If that revolving camera holds true it's 3D models in a 3D world given an art-style (better than the "brushed" look SF4 tried to do and failed at) from a 2D perspective that makes it look like sprites but really isn't.
 
The 3D looking like 2D sure is impressive but other than that something feels... off.

Oh and with those slight pants design adjustments Sol reminds me even more of Iori now.

Hope its good but not sure when to buy since these guys go through so many updates.
 
The name is ridiculous, and the game looks rough as fuck.

But hey, new Guilty Gear (and an actual fighter, no less). I'm down.
