I just bought Time Crisis 3 with Guncon 2 but I am having trouble getting the gun to work right. When I try to calibrate the gun I can only see the x on the screen when I get close to the screen when I get away from the TV nothing I can still hear the gunshots and see the screen flashing but I am not shooting anything. Does the Guncon 2 only work when you are close to the TV? I got to stage 2 playing close to my TV it is a fun game but it sucks that I have to be so close to hit the targets.

Normal? Defective Guncon 2 or problem with my TV?

What kind of TV do you have? The Guncons really don't work that well unless you've got a CRT, I think. And is it NTSC or PAL?

Also, make sure you've got both the USB and the yellow video cable hooked up tightly.

Try a 3rd party gun. Surprisingly the MadCatz Blaster is better.

Also, clean your screen and gun lens with Windex. That can improve it remarkably, even if you don't see issues.

Turn up the TV's contrast and brightness. (More important for Crisis Zone's persistent firing)

You should be as far away as you normally play games, where the gun's cord is fairly lax. The further away you are, the easier it is to navigate the screen with twitches.
