Episode 10

Perfectly fine filler episode, with the return of BearGuy and the Turn A getting punched in its crotchpit, but I'm not sure I want Haro as a trophy. Seems like we might get a few more members of the old cast next week as well.

Could anyone tell what that suit at the end of the preview was?
 
Somebody got a screenshot of the models and Niels at the end? I saw that the models were holding a Zebra and Rose Gundam but I couldn't see the others. Also, Niels' looks pretty good with the dreads, here's hoping he's not as annoying as he was when he was a kid.

EDIT: Next ep looks hype! I think Niels is using a heavily modified TV Deathscythe Hell, but it's hard to tell with the brief glimpses

I can see that. Its silhouette and helmet are very similar. How many Gundams other than Deathscythe Hell and Master Gundam have a wing-cape?

There's also Dynames, but yeah, the TV DS Hell has a bit of a samurai helmet thing going on, which would be right up Niel's alley

That was a great episode even if it was filler. Silly fun all around. Mihoshi though. Best S1 girl.=o I had to laugh at Fumina's mom though. I figured we'd get a shipping mom sometime and of course it had to be her.

I do like that they put some thought into why they picked the Turn A in this and how they justified it with the course.

Looks like next episode has is setting up the big stuff for the rest of the season. Apparently, Masami Obari will be working on it going by his twitter. He wanted to do ep 10 though. lol

Judging by that ring on his finger I guess he and Caroriiiine got married.
With Nils, Meijin Allan and Kirara~n in one episode, maybe we're getting to the arc where all the S1 characters start to come back.

Episode 10

Finally got the chance to watch it. Soooooooooooooooooooooo good. I don't care, I'm fucking biased. BEARGGUY + MINI-BEARGGUY vs BLACK TURN-A = BEST!!!!!! Watching Yuma suffer and get trolled by everyone is just bonus points. It's pretty funny to see how heavy the shipping is in the new series. Pretty much every character in the show has an official pairing, even the minor supporting cast. I guess Kuroda didn't get to write enough love-love in the first series so this is his revenge? I know he loves that shit. Lol.
 
i'm up to episode 7 and i feel like dropping this show.
pretty much the only thing keeping me going is the carryover hype from s1...

This seems like a good thread to ask this, but Gunpla was something I've been wanting to do for several years now. What are the necessary tools I need for the kits? And what are some good kits to do for beginners?

You don't need any tools for kits really, but I would definitely suggest hobby clippers to make your life much easier for you. You should into the HG 1/144 line for some good starting kits, they're all pretty much similar difficulty, just pick a suit you like.
 
One thing I keep wondering is... what happened to Iori's model shop? Every time they need new kits it's off to G-muse. Even though Iori Mokei should be closer for them than G-muse and Iori taught Yuuma how to build. Yuuma even went there last season with his sister.

From the writers, animators and Bandai's perspective I can see why. They want to show off the 1:1 statue and promote Diver city/Gundam Front.
 
Probably wanted to sell the pipe dream of a gundam models only shop. But yeah wondering where the shop and its owner

are in this new series.

Also hope we get a customized Altron this season. We desperately need it.

As much as I hated Wing this redesign was a'ok.
 
I went in to this week's episode expecting crap and it was actually one of the stronger episodes of the season. Reiji's sister got some pretty cool character building moments. The GunPla race was such a cool twist on the normal battle and black Turn A was super cool. Next week's episode also looks fantastic. Could we be getting 3 great episodes in a row? This show might really be on its way up!

In other news, my order with SD Winning shipped, so I should see it make it here soon. Excited to build that little sucker.

Ah, Thanks for the advice. I'll be sure to get some hobby clippers if it really makes things easier.
 
Hobby clips at the bare minimum, because you risk breaking your gunpla if you twist and snap the pieces off.

Or any from that brand, honestly. They're a bit on the more expensive side, but they do the work of cutters on the super expensive $30+ side. The flush cut blades on these guys is invaluable and they cut plastic like butter. You'll save yourself a lot of work just by investing in nice cutters up front.

Well you could also use exacto knives, but I always ended up cutting myself several times each kit. Also, it's much harder than just using clippers

I would never tell a novice to use exacto knives.That's asking for trouble!
