I'm Asian, have only dated Asian girls my whole life. But starting to notice white girls more and more.... too bad there's no chance in hell of me scoring one.

I used to NEVER see asian guys with white girls, and now I'm seeing at least one a day and sometimes multiple a day. And not "white" asian guys either.

I personally find most Asian women boring(but nice to look at) for the exception of Filipinas. I'm Asian and have had a lot more fun with Filipinas than any other ethnicity of Asian women. I guess that's why Asian girls are easy target for white guys. All they have to do is talk to them about some boring intellectual BS and show them some $$$ and they're all over you.

If I only had cash! I'm a B.S. Econ major so I'm not on the "intellectual end" either. But I do make her laugh.

That may be so, but the average Asian parents are quite strict with daughters not dating foreigners. It just depends on how liberal they are.

"Asian" is always a confusing term for me. I guess it's accepted to mean "Oriental", but then why don't people use that instead? Confusing, because where does that put Indians exactly? Last I checked, India was a part of Asia...though most white folk I know lump India in with the Middle East. What do y'awl think about that?

This is true. I'm a Cantonese ABC. Parents are from Hong Kong. I dated an Indonesian Chinese a year ago and my parents were against it because of cultural differences, despite the fact that he was Chinese. They would have heart attacks if I went out with anyone of different "color". And eversince I voiced my deep admiration of Ewan McGregor (he's hawt), I've been getting THE lecture everytime we have a conversation. Bleh.

Southeast Asia tends to refer to Vietnam, Thailand, Laos and the other Asian countries near the equator. I don't think Japan or Korea is group as Southeast Asia.

Yeah, they're pretty strict. When we watched "Joy Luck Club" my parents kept saying "SEE! That's what happens when you marry white people! All those daughters got divorced!" It's pretty annoying. (Also why I never watch movies with them anymore. \(>_<)/!!!)

But don't take it the wrong way - these are just my parents (and other relatives/family friends). :/ There are a lot of more liberal open-minded Asian people out there.

When I'm in a mean mood I ask the white person what part of Ireland they're from. Usually they'll say they're not from Ireland, to which I'll reply "I'm sorry, I can't tell all you white people apart." It's too bad I'm not usually in a mean mood. Shows how out of touch I am...I had no idea that term was demeaning. My apologies. Hopefully you know what I meant. Though whoever said it was right, I guess "Desi" is the standard term for an Indian/Pakistani. But I generally don't like the idea of dividing people up like that. All of the above groups are technically "Asian", so the different labels feed into the segregation you see between different ethnicities, when really they should be able to show solidarity for each other.

I'm dating a Filipina girl and there are some cultural and racial issues with her family (i'm black) Like when her cousin first met me, he was shocked that I went to college and have a regular job. He thought that all black people wanted to do is rap, sing, dance and play basketball. In his defense, he's only been in America for 6 months, and the only access he had to black people back home was MTV Asia. He'd never seen a black person before until he came here. Personally, I use Asian to describe folks from Southeast Asia, East Asia, and the Pacific Islands. I've never really considered folks from around from India and the countries surrounding India to be Asian. There's probably quite a few reasons for that when I think about it.
