Young Thug is a bright future in an otherwise boring and hellish landscape.

The hero we need right now.

beautiful review. he, much like makonnen, is using his voice as an instrument to move the landscape of rnb and rap forward.

the dog yelps, the SKrepFEIRJOIJOIHFUHPBAHWVASCAWK FLOK NO WOK, often nonsense but it works with the beats and never goes off flow.

edit: oh shit btw this aint sarcasm. it all works even though you'd think it wouldn't.

lol @ the bold. When his gibberish on Just Might Be not only worked, but flew right past me without so much as a raised eyebrow, that's when I knew something....different was happening. There's so much on here that shouldn't work.

Hip-hop gods are pleased going by these last 2 months. More human sacrifices asap so we can keep this rolling through May.

I'm so out of the loop with music these days, every time I come to this thread I have no clue da fuck everyone is talking about and I end up just going to OT to laugh at people who need 200 strangers to tell them how to ask a girl on a date. The struggle is real.

SWISH is such a powerful statement on contemporary urban apparel. Encapsulates the struggle of non-athlete millionaires trying to make it in this cutthroat industry, the monopolies that help keep #classismasthenewracism, all while literally representing the sound of both success and hands-offness of the system that keeps my dark skinned brothers down.

Big up GRIME HEADS! Skepta's (that UK guy grime who's gaining traction in the US) brother, JME, has released his new project.
JME's new album/mixtape/project is called Integrity.

Definitely some bangers. The opening tune "Pulse 8" is on some classic grime type stuff, glad someone did a track over the instrumental.

A highlight for me is his track called "Game", the story telling verses are just jokes:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNrqWLmpQp4
Specifically this one, which us video game heads will appreciate:
I'm an Xbox man fam, FPS
Bad man on any FPS
I'mma get a PC so I can leng man on a hundred and twenty FPS
I don't really play RPGs, all of your lyrics are PG
Man wanna war me, I will rocket jump over man with an RPG
Fam I have to let them know, I haven't spent time on a MMO
but if i did i will take off head tops make man at home all bend control
Trust I said I got bare XP, me and my G's outlive bare MCs.
Other highlights:
Integrtity - Banger.. and opens up with another video game reference:
Shh!
Before I start top lip slapping
Think me and Skepta were born rapping?
Born in the ends, move food in the ends and that's the new meaning of spawn trapping
Calm
Amen Ft. Skepta, Frisco, Jammer, Shorty
96 Fuckeries
Don't @ Me ft Skepta, Frisco, Shorty

Thanks for the heads up!

I just recently "discovered" JME thanks to Channel AKA...

That's not me

Damn, nice..I'm a sucker for VG samples.

I don't listen to Grime anymore but I loved Dizzee Rascal's first albums as a kid. Around the same time when I started making hilariously wack electronic beats with Fruity in '04/'05 that actually sounded a bit like Dizzee's stuff before I even heard it :D

Boy In Da Corner is a personal classic

yep, i bought that CD back in the day (still have it now). too bad about his later albums.

UK rap is corny as fuck to me but Skepta isn't bad. My problem with grime in general is that it sounds like someone who can't dance trying to salsa. That accent doesn't lend itself to smooth flowing.

That being said I thought this was pretty cool

I would argue that UK rap and Grime are 2 different genres but do overlap.
The accent doesn't lend itself to smooth flowing? Lolwut..

It is a little crazy how iterative music is these days when you dig into it. Especially some mainstream stuff. That percentage breakdown of Uptown Funk is hilarious.

But I don't really mind it, as long as the right people get their cut (though I guess that doesn't always happen).

Is Chance really gonna release? Cause he doesn't have the power to do a sneak release. Dumb.

I think Rocky gets 120K first week
