Gotta echo the sentiment that Staples >>>> Earl brehs
Production is fire and Vince goes hard on some of these joints
Eh, this Vince album seems to be more dark and cavernous than his other stuff. I think it's apt.Wait why are Vince and Earl being compared? Pretty different styles there. Both are "underground" acts but they are not very lake in tone or theme.
They just announced Wale will perform live next time they do this...Sportscenter takes the L

wale peforming at a draft?
this joke writes itself
if i were a player i may decide not to declare and just play another year of college
Yup. I'm all for throwing RZA in the bushes, which is what they have seemingly done. But jesus...Ghost can't call up Apollo Brown? Oh No and Alchemist give beats to bums DAILY, the Wu can't hit them up? Chalk it up to being so far out of touch with modern shit that you essentially become paralyzed. I wonder if Ghost has even heard Apollo's (officially sanctioned) version of 12 Reasons To Die lol...
Lets keep these tyga impressions coming
LEAVE THUGGER ALONE!!
i realize im probably missing something but three people on gaf have that exact avatar.
and it's not like the diaper one, where they waited for you to stop using it.
MJ is above squabbling over pleb fashion. He doesn't work for the clothing the clothing works for him. He wears denim and blazers like expensive robes. Ya'll not even prepared for the freedom and comfortability.
I probably make more than Troy Ave with my minimum wage all things considered.
Look at this Immortal Technique ass nigga over here
COast to COast should be his next album title *huff
Bars on Both Sides
There is nothing good on this page.
yasss
been waiting for some more competent DeJ
Frank Ocean lost.

something Nas related I'm guessing...okay so what was the bet ya'll made
They are much more comparable than Weeknd and Frank Ocean...not that different stylistically at all actually...There's a reason they often collabWait why are Vince and Earl being compared? Pretty different styles there. Both are "underground" acts but they are not very lake in tone or theme.

Was 100 entirely written by drake?
Games flow is a perfect amalgamation of drakes flow and his stupid ass "reference every rapper I can before the song ends".im sure 50 Cent would say so lol
Wait, Clams is on this album? I guess I'm gonna have to check it out.No I.D., DJ Dahi, and Clams Casino absolutely laced this Vince Staples album. Top to bottom, front to back enjoyable. A few of the hooks dip into KRIT-esque mind numbing territory, but the vibe overall is strong enough to push past that when it happens. Really good album, and thankfully he kept it to an hour even though it's a double disc.
something in either his voice or delivery just doesn't sit right with me
Eh, this Vince album seems to be more dark and cavernous than his other stuff. I think it's apt.
Well both of them have very dark tones and introspective but yeah there subject matter is different.
I agree that this album is certainly dark enough and definitely introspective. I just get the "written in the corner of a dark room alone" vibe from Earl and more of a depressing/dark gangster vibe from Vince. Vince carries himself in a more street way for lack of a better word. Earl's title fits well because when I do listen to it I feel like sitting alone and drowning in it.They are much more comparable than Weeknd and Frank Ocean...not that different stylistically at all actually...There's a reason they often collab
Lmaothey can't all be seans/travis fam
Yeah Sean definitely has a 10x better rap voice. Vince can sound like a child at times, dude gives me OF vibes in that sense.they can't all be seans/travis fam
ENVY! THE DJ DOT COM!
No artist is exactly the same but they have more in common than many of the rappers we compare in here.I agree that this album is certainly dark enough and definitely introspective. Lmao
What child on earth sounds like Vince lmfao.
smooth
What child on earth sounds like Vince lmfao.
It's funny since Staples' voice often sounds like a mix of Chuuwee and Big Sean, but Big Sean has a 10x better voice though?
Damn, I was just thinking the other day that we have been in a hit drought for a minute.
king geedorah is also the only doom album i fuck with
It's not like Smart, Conscious (groans), Important Rap has always been marginal to the mass-market. In 1998, Lauryn Hill dropped a whole album about heartbreak, self-assertion, intimacy, spirituality, bougie Negro conspiracy theories, and whatnot. The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill has four hit records off a 16-track listing.
Where are the so-called enlightened breakout singles of yesteryear? In 2003, even Talib Kweli had "Get By"!
