Hades 2 |OT| It's About Time

Things to consider during a run:

- Player position
- The reach of your attacks VS the reach of the enemies' attacks
- Dashing invisibility and running
- Synergies of the boons
- Routing of the trinkets
- Survivability and death defiances

· ~~ ∞ ∞ ∞ ~~ ·

Things to consider in The Crossroads:

- Bones as a currency
- Gifts
- Trinkets
- Planning meta progression
- Arcana cards
- Time specific activities such as concoctions, orders from Charon and agriculture
- Passage of time via spa
Your OT might be a little bit undernourished, but I particularly like the small "tutorial" section. It is a nice touch for the newcomers.

Thank you! It is a work in progress. I will most likely not update much on the characters or the story but I will continue to add in the OT about the mechanics I learn while playing the game.

It certainly wasn't the best word, but still.. "sequel of the year" doesn't fit to the game released 4 days ago and OP only remembered about it yesterday. The game is obviously good or great, but if feels like there is no hype surrounding it.
People not making ot for great games is kinda of a neogaf meme dude, this forum is a bubble.

There was less hype because a lot of people have played the game throught the course of early access and it wasn't a sudden release like silksong but is clearly another goty candidate if i ever seen one.

Keep seeing you hop online. How far are you?

This game has been incredible in every way so far. The music is absolutely outstanding, and the gameplay loop is unbelievably addictive. It feels really balanced compared to the first game, too, with every weapon being a viable option. (Except the shitty axe.)

And for anyone who hasn't gotten the game yet, it's at least double the size of the first game. Insane value overall.
I have no idea how far I'm into it, lol. If the first game is any indicator, beating the boss/last area is not even halfway through the story. I'm at the boss in the third area.

I don't wanna spoiler but if early access was anything to go by, you are not even 1\4.

Jumped back into the game again after 1.0 with a new, fresh save file. Now I'm hooked again 😄

I had 60+ hours in early access. As of now, I haven't noticed too many new stuff or changes in 1.0, but I'm enjoying it nevertheless.

I also played 30+ hours of EA but stopped before the last 2 big updates. Now im addicted again, just played 5 hours straight. Started fresh aswell.

Really enjoying this. I finished my first successful Surface run yesterday and it I know there's a bunch more content, but it feels like either the game is getting slower to dole it out, or I'm just missing whatever the trigger is.

Check out what concontations are available to you in The Crossroads. There could be some vital upgrades there.

I get annoyed when any type of story doesn't start at the actual 'start' like this game -- you're kind of just dropped in with a lot of things already going down, a number of important events have happened in between the last game and here that aren't shown, and you just are supposed to accept it and go. Feels like I missed Hades 1.5.

You get all the context imaginable the more you play, it's how they have managed to have so much dialogues (and playable memories).

Will this be on Netflix games as well someday?
I played the 1st one on my iPhone, it was one of the Netflix games for a while.
It's not there anymore. :(
Not bad onscreen controls but better if you have one of those controller holder things.

I finally decided to play Hades (I) that i had on my backlog for quite a long time.

Having a very good time with it. I'm at my 18th (edit : 16th, just checked) attempt and reached the final boss 3 times now, but still didn't manage to beat him. The "surprise motherfuckaaa" second phase was frustrating at first but then lmao when my nerves calmed out lol.
Dunno if i'm good at it but i'm having fun. I like the bow & spear the most.
I really love Supergiant games, Bastion was an incredible experience in 2008.

Is Hades 2 longer & better or more like a "DLC" to 1 in the end ?

Hades 2 has like 3 times the content of 1 lol. It also plays differently

Given this a few goes. Got to the Sirens but I'm not doing enough damage. Plus it was the starting weapon for the extra bones where as I prefer the twin blades. The second zone can be really annoying with all the traps and way too many enemies for small sections. Find myself picking freeze abilities just to deal with enemy spam.

Following my previous message about Hades (I) i have to say Redacted is starting to get on my nerve truly.
21th attempt now, reached him 5 times i think, and i get absolutely recked, twice reached second phase, almost killed it but in the end i cannot do it.
Am i just poor at this game or is it normal to struggle that much after 20 runs ?
Not very accustomed to roguelike.
I don't feel like i'm that bad, but there are so many visual stuff on screens on some encounters depending on the type of ennemies that i can barely see anything.
Also in the last stage, the combination of very small room + poison spitting rat boss (King Vermin i think ?) health sponge is atrocious and can ruin a perfectly good run in a matter of 20 seconds. Funny stuff is i heard it was very rare, yet i met him 3 times already wtf.

Early access completely ruined the release of the final game for me. Never doing that again.

Looks like there isn't that much extra content between the last early access update and the final game.

That said, I loved my time with it. But I'll probably start completely over on Xbox and hopefully gain new appreciation for it now that I can actually witness the stories' landing.

I'd like to know how fast you guys can get to/beat hecate. My record is somewhere around 45 seconds iirc

No cronos is kinda hard.

I advice you to do a run where you reach him and just observe and memorize his moves without attacking much, fight for 10 min just evading him until it get natural.

I can even tell why you got beat, because you thought you had a killer build that decimated everything before so you tried to brute force him instead of respect him, i do this a shitload of times but he has a crapload of health so you are not gonna get rid of him in 2 min after just 20 runs, you have to avoid his attack and not just try to out-damage him.

Played it briefly again and got to Cerberus but the attack pattern changed and I was finishing off the last add so got hit by a new move.

Definitely seems to be more to do between runs with the cauldron and the cards, I seem to work on that more than caring about the story.
