A vast, merciless, uncaring universe
It's filled with bloodthirsty fauna, enigmatic aliens and mysterious ancient artifacts, in a setting reminiscent of classic sci-fi games like Star Control II and Master of Orion.

A motley crew with unique traits and talents
Recruit and train a crew of characters whose idiosyncrasies can mess with your plans, unlock story events, challenge your patience, or delight you with their special combat abilities

Hard decisions and tough battles
Deep tactical combat for both fleet and ground combat means you'll need to use all your strategic thinking and your officers' special abilities to gain an advantage..

Explore, expand, exploit and exterminate (sorta!)
Inspired by classic strategy mechanics straight out of your favourite 4x games: rebuild your starbase, construct facilities, research tech, explore star systems, mine resources, build ships and fight to survive.

Emergent storytelling
Tons and tons of storytelling embedded in the game system. Whether you want wacky, lighthearted events or intense life-or-death situations with high stakes, Halcyon 6 is going to have it all!

Stretch goals

Decided to back this.

Campaign's doing really well too. Already 70% funded in about a day

Here's a pic of the galaxy map from the latest update:

- The orange icons represent your ships and officers

- The blue nodes with a blue ring around them represent locations you control and the ones with the red halo represent threats

- The red hexes represent Chruul infested zones.

Looks great. I imagine it like the expansion I wanted to FTL, while I loved the core gameplay in FTL I always wanted to set up a base and wage my own war against the enemy and it looks like this game could deliver on that. I'll be very interested to see how their gameplay progresses and where they emphasise their fun factor.

Not backing just yet but I'll be watching the kickstarted and might back pre-release depending on how their updates go.

Already backed, really into this! It's being made by a friend of a friend, so I'm really excited to see it doing so well already.

I got an email from SE the other day about Halcyon 6. Ummed and ahhed but decided to take a chance and back this as it sounds like a combination of games I've enjoyed over the years. That and this is the closest thing to an exploratory space game that I've been craving for a while.

Oooooohh New Game+ will be interesting to see how it's implemented and what might carry over outside what's mentioned.

Edit: The latest update has some nice details on the base building aspect too.

The stretch goals are making this game significantly more appealing to me. New Game+ is baller. I don't know how many more stretch goals they're gonna add - I think this game will probably hit 100k+

Proud to say, it's the first time i ever funded something on Kickstarter. Game speaks to nearly all my Sci-Fi needs (Trek, Startopia, FTL, 4X etc.). I'm way too excited for this.

New stretch goals sound awesome, too:

Campaign is inching ever closer to 100k. Currently at 94k with 20 days left
The newest stretch goals are Alien Officers (110k) and Alien Empires (120k)

Here's some info about Alien Empires
With the Alien Empires stretch goal, our alien factions are going to be able to expand their territory, conduct wars against one another, and even gang up on each other with strategic alliances. Each faction will be given AI, unique tendencies and special technologies to protect or barter with.

Want to use your friendship with the Xlar-Yanthu to gang up on the other races, only to turn around and stab them in the back? With Alien Empires, you’ll be able to do that!

18 hours to go. Almost forgot to back this. Glad it's done so well in terms of stretch goals. Hope it can reach the Space Rogues Mini Campaign. Also nice they cleared the Mod Tools, interesting to see if the community can come up with cool stuff.

This Kickstarter hasn't gotten nearly enough attention. The game has potential in spades; haven't people learned from FTL, Shadowrun, Darkest Dungeon et al to identify a quality title when they see one?

The modding tools goal was achieved, but it doesn't look like the PS4 goal will be reached

I don't know there are 17 hours left. So there's still a lot of time to make it. Plus the final hours are almost always a huge boost. They need ~24k to reach the 200k PS4 goal. That's not a huge amount for a Kickstarter to pick up in the final hours if they get some good publicity to bring last minute backers in.

Are there tax or conversion penalties that make going with CAD preferable over USD for them? I feel like had they gone with USD instead they could have kept everything the same numerically and still be at where they are, meaning they'd actually have raised more money. Close to 30k more.

Wasn't there something similar to this that got kickstarted a while ago? Had an Imperial Russia thing going on. Whatever happened to that?

The Mandate?

I'm more reminded of Star Command due to the art style and pseudo Star Trek officer style they both share.

Which is great because that caused me to look up Star Command and find out they are now developing a big sequel to SC called Star Command Galaxies. I love that there are a ton of these games out and coming out.

Double post and I don't care.

So the Space Pirate mini campaign is a lock as they only need a couple hundred dollars more to reach 180k. But they also added two more last minute stretch goals to the list, so they must feel like there's a chance to go a lot further in these final hours.

I'm not sure they'll be able to raise another 120k to meet the Mulitplayer stretch goal, but I think the extra dev goal at 220k is pretty doable. PS4 version seems rather likely unless they don't get any buzz during these last 11 hours.

Thank god for kickstarter. Its like a dream come true that games like this can get made at all. And even better that the team doesnt have to cede their work to shitlord major publishers just to have a chance.

Less than 7 hours left and a little under 17k until the PS4 version stretch goal is reached. I hope they can reach the goal after that to add in another dev, but pledges need to start picking up pace.
