Or just a hiccup.

I believe this news. We weren't told that we would be fired, but that the store would be fined BIG TIME per infraction. Which of course would probably lead to being fired, but they never told us that, and I don't think we ever really had an issue with it.MrparisSM said:I was just asking a co-worker at Best Buy tonight, that if we get it early if I could buy it. He said HELL NO, if you sell the game before Street date you are fired with no questions asked. Because of Lawsuits and all that. A assistant manager that was working there sold hisself The Lord of the Rings before it was release day and was fired on the spot by corporate. I hope Microsoft takes this store chain through the ringer. I really hate when people don't follow guidelines, Nov. 9th was supposed to be something special.![]()
OK, you got the game legally (at least legally from your side) but you still can't talk about it until Nov 9th, OK?Scoot said:K. Just finished the first level. Who the hell cares? He obtained the game legally.MrparisSM said:How can you post this and Nov. 9th isn't here?

Yeah, but they do this all the time. Everybody and their mother was selling PGR2 before the street date. Even frigging Grabbed by the Ghoulies.m0dus said:you have to consider the scale, and the fact they want to MEET DEMAND on the 1st day.
MrparisSM said:Because the RELEASE date is Nov. 9th. So yes he Paid for it, but NO HE DID NOT OBTAIN IT LEGALLY.

Maybe some contracts were breached by someone else, but that is hardly his problem. If it's such a big deal, why weren't people up in arms when TRU was selling Outrun 2 a week early? OMFG IT'S ILLEGAL kjfiajfsidfj0w9

The great thing about Meijer stores is they're basically run like a Wal-Mart or Target ('cept with better food items) -- if the VG section isn't staffed, you can just pick up the red phone and beckon a generic clerk. They don't give a rat's ass about street date concerns (especially since they usually get games in days late).
If they have Halo 2, I'll pick it up along with some soda, some Jelly Belly's, and probably whatever frozen pizzas are on sale for 4/$10.00
By the way -- This Saturday, Meijer is running a Buy One Game, Get the 2nd for 50% off promotion.
