Do people honestly think that an employee is going to get fired for selling the game early? I doubt most stores will even get fined unless an entire chain says to hell with it and sells it early anyways. To the average non-gaming employee, Halo 2 is just another videogame, and most videogames can always be obtained early if you go to the right store.
 
One of my local Cincinnati area (actually Hamilton, Ohio) Meijer stores had the box this morning, complete with DO NOT SELL UNTIL NOVEMBER 9 sticker, under lock and key. I may ask on the way home if they can/will sell it.

Heh, I'm in the Cincinnati area as well...

It's tempting, of course, but like I said earlier...it will be more enjoyable to simply wait until next Monday night (plus I get a discount that way).

Our local Meijer's has it...they just won't sell it, and it took me far too long to hunt down one employee to send checking. I'm gonna see if the new local store has it, those sly bastards.
 
If one of you early game getters would be brave enough to go on Live and get some solid information about the Clan system, such as what parameters can be customized for a clan and other details like that, and post it on here or in the clan thread, it would be greatly appreciated.

I remember when a mailman (it was a woman) got fired for delivering copy of Harry Potter 5 to a kids doorstep one or two days ahead of time. The box said "DO NOT DELIVER UNTIL XXX" but she missed that, it wasn't even intentional on her part.
 
Um... could you guys refrain from posting pics and impressions in any thread that doesn't have HALO 2 IMPRESSIONS/SPOILERS in the title? I know you guys aren't pirates since you got it sort of legally but some of us would still like to talk about the game before release and not have anything spoiled for us. K thanks...

I still think impressions should be not allowed until the game is out. For one, most people are avoiding spoilers. Another reason is that the US version is of course pirated now so there's no way to tell if someone is posting pirate impressions or not.

I didn't see people bitching about Outrun 2 impressions when folks got it a week early. :)

As long as they post them in a thread called something like HALO 2 SPOILERS/IMPRESSIONS I don't see why it's a problem. If you don't want to know, don't read it.

Haha,I had a thought of driving up there,but not now!Three hours for nothing would have sucked,lol.

Oh well,I have it scanned in my brain that I'll be playing it the 9th,so I'll just wait til the 9th.
 
So how does it end? ..... :D

My advise to those who don't want it to be spoiled... do what I will be doing in about a week... STAY WAY FROM GAMING FORUMS UNTIL YOU OWN THE GAME :)

(Of course, I need to stay away until Christmas... so... I'll prolly just come on to give Minish Cap impressions and thats all... yeah...)

I'm pretty certain that, if someone is snapping pictures of their copy of the game, they did not pirate Halo 2.

I dont think you would get banned since it's a legitimate copy. And if they do ban you, give Microsoft hell and ask for a free Xbox Live subscription :P
 
That's pretty cool for the people that got the game early. But PLEASE don't post any impressions until Nov. 9th, I would like to be completely surprised with everything. Also if someone if just dying to know impressions, take it to the PM world, no need to post it in the forums and risk a ban. :) Me personally, even if I could get it early, I'll still wait till the 8th at midnight. It should be pretty cool to see how many other people are going to be at Eb near me to pick this up for Midnight Madness. Might meet some people that I can do lan Parties with(since all my friends own PS2s).

Hey, I didn't know you also lived in Indianapolis, but I digress. I got a call from a friend on te outskirts of Chicago last night, stating that someone had been in his local EB with a copy to trade and got it from Meijer. I thought this story was false until I saw this thread. I called Meijer last night and the clerk told me they had it in stock, and I asked, "For Sale?", and his response was ,"No that's its regular price." (talk about inneffective communication). Anyway, I got home late from the gym and didn't want to go back out in the freezing rain on a wild goose chase. I might stop by after work and take a look, just in case. I'm sure by now the word has gotten back to corporate and Meijer will put the brakes on any further sales.

Bah. Nothing at either of the stores I tried. I don't know why I got my hopes up.

Nothing on the shelf, and not an employee in sight. No phone to call for assistance. I had forgotten how much I dislike Meijer.

Dude I live here on the west side of town. Some local pals and I (members of another forum) are having a big halo2 LAN session Saturday, Nov 13th. You guys are more than welcome to show up and jump in. He's got a 20 port hub/router, and I'm hopefully picking one up as well this weekend. That way we can have multiple LAN stations of mayhem and destruction. ;)
