If this is a public unveiling then why can't there be public footage for others to see?

not much of a public unveiling if there's no video on the internets for the world to see.

Yeah, it WOULD make sense. But so would releasing the Halo 3 Xbox 360 before all the beta, when all the hardcore halo kids bought 360's anyway.

They better ship those damn things with falcon parts, this September...

You're right. That's the problem with petitions -- too many of them don't work.

What we need to do is start a petition encouraging people to pay more attention to petitions.

And by "decent," we mean a recording device that you hook up to the projector for direct-feed footage.

I think the idea of it is that it's on IMAX. That's not something that will translate over web video.

Patience kids. They'll give you media when they're ready. Five weeks left. You can stick it out.

whatever happened to "bungie takes care of its fans" in response to videos? IT'S BEEN 5 WEEKS SINCE THAT and all we've got is... ... ... a few screens and a 3d mov of the flamethrower

That's better. :D It's nice to know that since I can't make it down there at an early enough time to actually get a spot, that I'll at least be able to see (eventually) what exactly is going on display. Hooray!

We don't want IMAX video. We just want actual gameplay video of the same level that Bungie is showing there. With Martin's music.

Yeah, it would be really sweet to be there, but Seattle's too far for me. Tends to be that way with everything. I'm in St. Louis, so I'm used to it. It's a good sized market, but not huge. Cost of living is pretty low though. ;)

I'd definitely travel to check something like this out, but it's always too short notice. Buying a plane ticket with one day's notice out of St. Louis would have run me about $700. Yeah, I checked. :D

Come September 25th, nobody's going to remember not being in Seattle for the IMAX showing.

Yeah... Dang. I'm pretty disappointed. Sucks to not live in or near Seattle tonight. What sucks even more is that it's open to the public, so tomorrow we'll have tons of shakeycam vids and poorly taken screenshots, rather than an official video from Bungie showing us what these thousands got to see.

So did I, man. I considered doing it, but I've got jury duty in the morning. And that whole $700 thing, too.

An IMAX theatre holds what, 300 people tops? They know a ton more than that are going to show up, so by my excellent powers of deduction it's a publicity stunt designed solely to try and get mainstream coverage. It's hardly serving fans at all given such a small percentage will get to be a part of it.

What sucks the most for myself is the RSVP thing... I'd GLADLY RSVP and drive the 2 1/2 hours to get there if RSVPing actually meant anything. By the time I get off work and get up to Seattle it's going to be around 9. I won't stand a chance of getting in. At least I shall have Bioshock, Super Metroid, and hopefully the COD4 beta to keep me company.

Pretty sure that they want any media of Halo 3 to be seen and shown properly, not off-screen, is the reason why they aren't allowing pics and videos in the theater - makes sense... or else you'd have kids complaining about something that isn't even good quality to begin with...

I'm actually looking forward to using that puppy before I start playing. I got a Samsung like the ones I've seen in a few of the Bungie videos and I want to use the best settings for it.
