So this is unlocking at midnight tomorrow?
No, Halo 5 beta is on December 29th. Tomorrow they will stream some pros playing Halo 5.
So this is unlocking at midnight tomorrow?
Initial footage looked like it was just like adding aiming to quake -> outrage. Then 343 clarified it's just a visual redesign. So to understand this who never played Halo games besides Halo 1 campaign on PC:
It's the same as if someone adds to my beloved Quake 3 zoom-in that slows down aiming and sprint which forbids to fire my weapon? I would say Fuck them lol
Sprint and ADS were not the issues, idk why people think they are the evil that destroyed their loved game. In fact, I would say any fps that came out today without those basic things would just feel dated.
Its the imbalance of weapon load outs and ability specs that ruined Halo.
I should have clarified lol. I DID mean MCC. Do we know if MCC has theater mode for all the games? I spend quite a lot of time in it![]()
Go take a look at what happened with Halo 4's online multiplayer population after it was turned into COD (shown here). Then come back & tell us that.
I agree fully. If 343 has any sanity left, they'll cater Halo 5 to the hardcore fanbase of past Arena FPS games like Halo 2 & 3.
Otherwise, the franchise as a whole will join other shooters like SOCOM as a result of chasing the COD money.
Iron sights are a devolution in terms of game mechanics. You are forced to use it in most modern shooters or you'll get a accuracy penalty. It'll slow you to a crawl and it obscures your vision.
It doesn't have the penalties in this game hopefully, but it's still a backward mechanic.
Now the question is sprint. Will 343 slow down normal walking speed to make people sprint more? I personally think sprinting is stupid. Just up the normal walking speed. I don't want to damage my analog stick by repeatedly pressing it just to gain speed.
I lol'ed.
I lol'ed.
All this complaining about footage that looks exactly like every other halo.... i know it didn't always have sprint but that's hardly game changing.
Personally, now knowing that its just a visual change, I am cautiously-meh about it. Now it just rubs me the wrong reason that they changed canon to chase a minor visual style
So, ADS for the sake of ADS, that disgusting sprint garbage to break more maps and AAs by default.
Games gonna blow...
Oh look, someone who doesn't read. AAs don't exist anymore. And ADS doesn't exist either. What you're seeing is a cosmetic change and the BR works exactly the same as it use to, except now you just see the gun while zoomed in.
Can't you run in Halo 4? I can't recall, it's the only Halo I haven't played that much. You could always just remap the button to something else.Ok, tell us why you laughed? Because this is not a constructive post.

Also I watched the clips looks like Halo to me. *shrugs*.

Well apparently automatic weapons still hipfire, even if weapons are linked to Spartans' helmets, physically aiming your weapon sights is still a viable skill in future military training.
When are we getting the reveal again?
Excited as fuck![]()
Why is it that ADS instantly means something is ruined? I remember when that sort of thing was seen in a Serious Sam 3 trailer, and people acted like SS was being turned into CoD. And then the game came out (mostly) fine. It's gotten to the point where the awful kneejerk overreactions are spilling into other threads. This is ridiculous.
The ADS not being Cod style is something I suppose, but still, ideally, it needs to be optional.

It is by definition optional![]()
Sooooo what's the problem then lol. At the end of the day, H4 was liked by the people who like Cod as well, they should be catered to. The more options for players, the bigger the potential audience.

Playercount in H4 clearly showed that only a very minor group of people actually liked H4 multiplayer. Halo fans dont want CoD elements in their Halo, CoD fans prefer playing the real CoD.Sooooo what's the problem then lol. The thing I loved about Halo was that it played differently than any other multiplayer shooters. Sprinting and ADS just feels too samey to me. There's nothing dated about not having sprint in a game, that shit is not needed and ADS is definitely not needed in here. I enjoyed Halo 4 more than most, but still I think there is room in this world for different feeling multiplayer experiences. Can't properly judge until the reveal tomorrow and actually playing the beta myself, so I will reserve judgement.

Don't see how. If you design the maps around sprint they'll be to big to play without.I expect Halo 5 to feature a great deal of customisation when it comes to multiplayer. I think both types of gamer will be able to play the way they want to play.

80 pages of sprint+ads hate in one day clearly shows that Halo still matters to people and they want classic Halo.maybe it just meant that halo fans moved on to other games when the halo developer moved on?
ADS is cancer, it does change the gameplay and makes shooting from the hip a useless mechanic. I know its cosmetic here thank god, but COD/Titanfall gunplay/melee is vile. One hit melee from the front, terrible unskilled positive reenforcement bullshit , hate hate hate CODSooooo what's the problem then lol. If the general movement speed is fine theres no need of sprint. Also I like being able to sprint as it means I can get into the action quicker.
No matter what they do, if it doesn't play like the Halo everyone knew and loved, people will complain. Maps need to be changed due to the increased movement, so there's no way they can properly cater to those that want sprint and those that don't. This catering to the COD audience by every FPS shooter out there is ridiculous. They all basically play the same now, let COD be COD and let Halo keeps its identity. I hope they are able to pull it off, but if Halo 4 is any indication they probably wont. I'm just glad the MCC is out tomorrow so I can go back to the best multiplayer experience I have had and still has not been matched by any modern game.
