As you mention it is not that easy. Having a lower ranked person who is playing out of their mind beat you or vice versa may not be a function of poor MM...
Of course, I am talking about the overall experience. Everyone has bad experiences.

But does it though? And why did josh Holmes say before launch that the game would automatically connect us to the closest datacenter? Last week I had whom sessions with even, rapid matchmaking, that connected to the closest datacenter. Yet tho week it has been hit and miss.
As they refuse to let us select the datacenter, they need to patch in a ping selector. Where we set the ping limit.
That would remove 99% of the posts complaining on here as well.

I agree. I get that some folks like to play with power weapons because the draw of the one shot kill is strong, but I'd rather have had a dedicated CTF playlist so I knew that EVERYONE that was playing it actually WANTED to play CTF and would try to do it right.

Yes its nice to have a non-serious mode. With all the pro SWAT stuff, its nice to have a crazy mode of fun once in a while.

I am on the East Coast and get that sometimes. What is odd, is in Warzone (and once in Arena) when I am lagging sometimes my friends won't be (we live in the same area and same ISP). But when I wasn't lagging one of them sometimes would be. It sometimes manifests differently for me in Arena then it does Warzone (teleporting in Warzone, exactly like your videos). In Arena it mainly manifests as head shots not detecting correctly (the shots usually count but do not provide the Headshot Damage Multiplier when the enemy is 1-shot), primarily the Magnum and BR, and getting shot around corners.
Still having such a blast with BTB, there's not a map or mode I'm not enjoying. Only thing I'm not sure on is BR starts, never has using a warthog been so perilous.
Also I can't bring myself to buy Bronze packs for commons anymore, pack after pack of no new unlocks, back to silvers for me.

rainbow is in open beta so a ton of people will be playing that no questions, destiny has the casual crowd by the neck, fallout is fallout, gta is gta, fifa is huge in europe, madden is madden and NBA I guess is big in the US?
Halo 5 is a good game but it lacks the pulling power for the casual group even with warzone and it's req cards, it has no firefight for a start nor does it have infection that was a game type everyone voted for in reach to the point where they made a dedicated infection hopper for it, it's that popular.
I would assume Halo 5 moves up during peak hours in the US.
But I mean... Halo isn't as big as it used to be. Never will be again. Nothing "gives" really... Just the casual crowd has moved on along with a bunch of the hardcores that left the game behind because of Reach, H4 and most recently MCC

Improved firefight might hold good amount of casuals.People playing destiny's shitty raids over over and over again..
It's partly paying for the sins of the father. It's a bit like the new Assasin's Creed. It's no doubt better then Unity, but it's going to have to claw it's way back. Also, I think this multiplayer has one steep learning curve, multiplayer in this game is fantastic but it is in no way welcoming for new players. That said, even if it's not going to top the list, I do think it's going to have really good legs and retain its population and move up as others' population dies out.
Sad to see it in that place IMO.
Sport, FPS, RPG,
All of them are in front of Halo.
It was on 1 place the launch week. But that's it.
Even Destiny which is old are back in front of Halo.

The game has zero causal modes to attract a casual fanbase. CoDs main gameplay loop is about as casual-shooter as it gets.
Also this. It boggles my mind how Microsoft's most popular IP is not on its most popular platform. It just doesn't make any sense.

The foundation is just so strong, with constant updates and feedback change cycles, it's going to keep people coming back. It's the tortoise in this multiplayer race imo.
I've always heard great things about Astro's but they've always been out of my price range, cheap Turtle Beaches are my go to.

There is no reason why a PC version cant come 6 months later. I mean its perfect for the W10 gaming push and the game has all the things a PC gamer wants. Very depth and skill based gameplay, dedi servers and free dlc.

I think(hope) MS/343 knows this and they are tailoring their plans to a path similar to valve's support for TF2 and csgo. Which started in similar positions to H5, also I believe bravo mentioned valve as an inspiration for their plans in the BTB update stream.
I believe that if a multiplayer only H5 game was on steam and priced accordingly ($30 entry + req microtransactions) that it would be enormous.
PC audience would go crazy over Reqs just like they do CS:GO cases and skins... Buying, trading, betting, etc.

Halo 5 is lacking in a lot of modes that just isn't keeping people hooked. Everyone knew Call of Duty would draw away a ton of the players who want the more casual friendly shooter game play.
Battlefront this time though also took a sizeable chunk as a lot of Halo fans are Battlefront fans and I probably see more Halo players playing Battlefront right now.
Also, it's a question of most played daily. Destiny alone, it takes a couple hours to do bounties and complete and travel to the tower and decode engrams and blah blah. Games like Minecraft are similar in that regard, the game play loop requires time investment daily. I mean Warzone is supposed to be the main hook for Halo 5 but it's only got 3 maps and the payout for your hard work in playing enough matches for a gold pack could be an emblem when you wanted a gun or vehicle. Are you really going to spend 3-4 hours playing Warzone daily? Imagine if the game had firefight or spartan ops and Forge launched, that's additional 'non-PvP' players spending time with the game etc. I also think MCC just hurt the franchise a lot. Hasn't been the same, no matter how good the new mp game play is.
I think Halo needs a rest
Concentrate on Halo 5 with contents.

Distiny, CoD and Battlefront are all very casual, I think BF is as simple as it can get. I'd agree that Halo is down due to the MCC and the steep learning curve/large skill gap. People like to think they're good at a game while being constantly rewarded with positive feedback. That's what games like CoD and BF do. Halo on the other hand has a more competitive nature.
