Halo 5: Guardians |OT3| Ball Dropped

I cant believe that I didnt think to check that. I just saw it had its own thing so I assumed it was there. Hopefully we get a team objective playlist at some point since they keep adding new objective types.

I mean, essentially Team Arena is the objective playlist; it'll get to the point where you'll mostly get objective games vs. slayer.

Torque is a terrible designed map. Actually, I'm sick of all the visual clutter on 343i's maps in general. Give me the simplified early Bungie deigned maps any day.

You've played it, what, one day?

...

you included remakes in your list for H3, as well as some bad maps (High Ground, Assembly, Longshore). Rat's Nest sucks, the only good part of the map is the outside of it, which is essentially bare. I'll give you Pit and Valhalla.

Just had my best game of Halo 5 yet I think in the assault playlist. I am loving that game mode... Torque is also really nice I think. Plays well for assault and probably for CTF too.

Ever since downloading the latest update, my Mark VI helmet says "Block markup not found". Whats up with that?

It's because the helmet is called Mark VI [Gen 1], and since the last update, the game tries to read the part in between the brackets as some kind of markup that doesn't exist. Last month they fixed it b just changing the name of the helmet to remove the brackets, but I guess they broke it again this month.

Not only did my colors change for some reason, but my reqs are STILL having issues.

I noticed colors changed too. Then I looked at the color pallet, and it's because the pallet has changed. Which is for the better actually, the black actually looks more black, purple more purple, etc, its great!

Ah, okay. I'm sure it'll be fixed again then. This doesn't affect what helmet other players see me wear does it?

Also, I love Torque. I don't know if its only when playing Assault (which is all I've played on this map) but, I love the sound effect/ambient sound that plays from time to time. It reminds me of Interstellar.

My colors changed completley though. Not just a new shade.

Yes Assualt is really fun. I remember when assault meant one team on defense and the other on offense and that's what I was hoping for. Now I don't miss that variant.

The real question is when the UI update allowing us to view post-game medals is going to drop. It's one of the few things left that feel like a glaring omission.

I cringe everytime I see someone asking for 30fps back to Halo.

So true, since converting over to the 60fps is king crowd I can't help but laugh at Destiny's 30fps. Going from H5 to Destiny right away takes a few minutes for me to forget or stop being aware of the stutter Destiny or most 30fps games have. It's as if they run sub-30 e.g. 20-24fps.

It's like Halo back in the day, always had a choppy framerate. Honestly 343i seriously made the right moves to 60fps across the board. Ballsy and worth the tradeoffs.

I really want 343 to pull from some of their more interesting campaign locales for arena maps. The fact that not a single map has the sanghelios aesthetic is baffling or that one chief mission on that strange planet thing (can't remember). Some of the maps have an interesting look but too many human structures and the new maps aren't diverse enough.

I really notice at first, but to be honest, I adapt to 30fps just fine. So while 60 may be absolutely preferred, but I spent 35 years of amazing fun gaming without it bothering me.

Man this update is so great. Torque is basically on of the best maps in halo 5 right now.
Assault plays amazingly despite being 5v5 will love 4v4. Now let us wait for Oddball and Assault in Arena.

Grifball is stupid but fun.
Everything feels a little bit more smooth and the Spartans never walk alone Story and pack made me tear up.. can't fathom how disturbing it must be to lose your kids.. Hugged my daughter extra times today.

Sam as stinkles. 30 fps definitely feels sluggish at first but it doesn't take too long to adjust. It's actually harder for me to go from 30 fps to 60+ because for whatever reason after getting used to 30 then switching back I get a headache

Really enjoying Grifball, but with 5 points to win the matches take way too long in my opinion, so I don't think I'll play it that much. I'd be more interested in a 5 minute time limit where you score as many as you can, and if it's 0-0 by the time runs out, Sudden Death. Alternatively, they could just lower it to 3 points to win.

It's like how CTF used to be 5 caps, but 343 noticed that 3 caps is how default CTF should be. At 5 caps, CTF was dreadful to play at times. At 3 caps, games are faster and don't feel as dragged out, even when there are stalemates.

Agreed, it's not a showstopper after a couple of minutes adapting. I used to be in the crowd of I don't care about 30 vs 60 and also grew up on 15fps Atari or NES etc but it's still a consistent personal reaction every time those engine switches occur.

If the fps doesn't directly hinder gameplay I'm fine with what devs decide and iterate to for the huge majority of games. It still doesn't diminish the engine design choices y'all made and held on to. Sub-30 fps had been a thorn in Halo's games/engines that 343 eradicated with H5.

Also MCC campaigns were the bomb to go back to 60fps and relive.

Lol my colors reset again. No access to reqs.

343 pls

I've been getting the no req access on and off nightly for a week too.

Also might I suggest for any flag or bomb games that the first priority of pickup is the objective, not weapons.

Held them out just long enough to force overtime assault.

30fps is a fine framerate, it's only noticeably "bad" if you've spent a lot of time looking at 60fps things beforehand, and even then it doesn't take too long to adjust to it and stop noticing again.

That said, I saw The Revenant a few weeks ago and during that long single shot action scene at the beginning I was really distracted by how choppy it looked and wishing it was 60fps.

Not just after playing, but after the poetry in motion that is watching pro's play in the HCS, I reeaally don't want to go back to 30fps.

Going back to 30 FPS is such shit, if you ever needed evidence that people just like to bitch about new Halo that is it. I swear people just look for things 343 did differently from Bungie and immediately jump on it.

There's nothing more annoying that'll being the only person playing the objective... ESCORT me to the enemy base for fucks sake!

I crept all the way to the blue base, by my damn self, and couldn't get backup throughout the entire arming process

Really cool video from TB about the NA Regionals:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOEuhcBnpog

I kind of wish 343 had more people on producing HCS related videos. The storylines and players are one of the main draws for watching competitive Halo (or any sport/esport) and there's been such crazyness this season to make some great stuff. But unless you know about the players and teams, it's nowhere near as enticing to watch. Exposing more people to the storylines behind the league will suck people in, and more importantly have them coming back. Perfect example, Team Beyond's Rivalries video. So good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXawFnyUOaU

The videos played during a weekend of Halo could be introducing us to players, storylines, rivalries. The substance behind these highly competitive games. Getting invested will have viewers coming back time and time again. Downtime filled by Christmas forge videos in February does nothing to bring a potential fan checking the channel out back.

Holy fuck, halo CE magnum melts people lol

@Caja, gaming side? XD

Yeah, I swear that anyone that says this either hasn't play halo 5 enough and/or just need to be salty against 343....

I played a lot of Destiny before Halo 5, and while 30 fps didnt took away from a good experience, after so many months playing Halo 5, I dont see myself playing a fps at 30. I have a friend that played a ton of Destiny he lived and breathe Destiny, and now he said his eyes cant take 30fps for long...heh!

Get out of here with your nice talk.

Thats exactly what a friend of myne said about going to 60fps to 30fps.

My Master Chief controller just had a bumper break and fall out, what the fuck? Never been dropped or anything. -_-

Thats exactly what happened to my elite controller.

For me is about how fluid the movement feel and how respinsive the controller is, that slugish feel has always been there for me in other Halo games, but it never bother me.

Thats what I think.

Stinkles confirming halo 6 campaign will be 30fps?? :p
Gross.

One thing I disliked about the recent update to colours in the UI, they didn't replace all the colours on offer, and my emblem went from looking awesome, to being a horrible gross thing that needed replacing. Kinda like my Halo skill.

Agreed, it would be the perfect time to help viewers get into the proceedings... Instead they bore us to near death.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You spent the entire match griefing the same lesser-skilled players over and over, for 15 minutes? Explain to me where the fun is in that, I'm genuinely curious.

It's not difficult to answer it myself, but I would like someone who does this to explain it themselves.

Ummmm.... Assume much? It's just a joke between me and Ocho

Who's the one assuming? I asked the question based on a seemingly straight-forward conversation lol

You're assuming I'm asking you angrily, waiting to shit on you for griefing people based on my previous posts on this issue. However, that's not the case.
