In the REQs section of Halo Waypoint, you can sort by rarities. Take the total remaining then divide by 2 (2 per silver pack).
171 silver packs to go, sweet jesus. How many matches is that on arena, a thousand maybe?

A little off-topic with some reeling in. Phil Spencer on upgrading hardware with backward/forward compat.
How would you guys feel if Halo always released on a new xbox console with a 3-4 year cycle? the main headliner to move to the next xbox?
Since we have REQ in place to always have support post launch, i dont think there would be much splitting in the community, if communication is handled right of course.
What do you guys think?
I mean I won't say no to better looking Halo, but I'll buy on PC, they get my money either way lolA little off-topic with some reeling in. Phil Spencer on upgrading hardware with backward/forward compat.

I just don't want to get new hardware that quickly, though. Honestly while there were downsides (and in comparison the new consoles aren't as powerful as last gen) I appreciated that the lifespan lasted 8 solid years.
I feel like consoles are becoming more like PCs, and that begs the question of why to get a console then. The standard locked specs and not having to piecemeal upgrade your rigs are part of the positive aspects of the system.
With regards to Halo though I'd completely be fine with them having a single MP experience and just continue to iterate on it with new maps and campaigns as opposed to a new full game each time.

Halo 5 just had a small update for me. Anyone know what it's for?
Fixed an issue that caused invisible map barriers and walls to not function correctly, allowing players and objects to get outside the intended boundaries of a map
◾Fixed an issue that caused gravity volumes to not function as intended
It's just to stop people from getting outside maps and things.
With how many strong weapons there are on all the maps now I really don't see the point in the powerups anymore, mainly because theyre bordering being too powerful. They just make it stupid hard to comeback or do anything in a game where the other team has control.

Thank God. Hope it fixes the grifball court.

Haha I figured I went too far a long time ago.Nono Moonman, too far. Stahp.
It's not nearly that bad; that method for measuring is wrong since it will include over 100 emblems only unlocked by commendations.
Use this to figure out how many Silvers left you need.

I remember the last time you commented on power-ups lol, I thought to myself: "I want to comment, but it's probably just a temporary lapse of judgment. We all have those."Haha I figured I went too far a long time ago.

Don't worry though, I got you this time! ;b
That's just how it goes. I was a Diamond 1 in Slayer during season 1. Was placed in Platinum 3 last season even though I've raised my overall K/D by over .15. Not a big deal.Wow fuck this game... gold 3 after I got to gold 6 just yesterday. Guess I'm never going waste my time in any of the ranked playlists. Not even worth it. Ass hat ranking system confirmed.
Thanks lol
Nine people have placed so far. One onyx, seven plats, and one gold.
HaloGAF BK status confirmed.
Deputy, let me tell you a secret:
The higher rank you go, the less fun it is when you solo.
You have sweats just thinking about the next match.
Relax and dont pay attention to the ranks.

Emblem is like the same as last time though. :/Nice to see the emblem pack for the season is continuing. I would still like to see way more in regards to player reward to gain player retention. Daily win pack and the seasonal awards are great but I'd still love to see challenges make a return.
And stuff like play streak bonuses like has been mentioned before.

Can someone remind me of why it's useful once a month to throw very mismatched players into 10 games and then re-rank them?
The only explanation I have heard is that if you accidentally end up in too high a medal during a month you can be reassessed and don't get stuck there. But that is simply a bad design choice in not allowing leveling down across medals.
Your rank that you see isn't what the game takes into account, that's just personal pride. The game looks at MMR (matchmaking rank) behind the scenes to match you with.
Sure, I figured as much, so why is that 10 game reset mechanic required at all? To create some monthly retention? Sorry if this is obvious.

Make a new account? So just got banned from Xbox Live forever due to Marketplace Theft...???????
Tried calling and they directed me to a website where I have to basically take a quiz about Xbox Service to refute my ban. Got it wrong and now I have to wait 24 to take it again.
This could be the end of an era I guess. Spent 10 years on Xbox Live with that account and put thousands of dollars into it... So I guess I won't be able to play with you guys for a while.

Im thinking the same as you; Monthly retention. Might change soon depending on feedback. Seasons might become 2-3 months long.
Also when i think of seasons i think of the diablo 3 method and how it drives people to play like mad men or women.
I meant just for halo budDid you miss the part where he put >$1000 bucks into that account man, think about all those digital purchases!
They aren't typically throwing mismatched players into 10 games.
The MMRs of the people you play against in your placements will be the same as the people you played against at the end of the previous season.
Your MMR can drop below what your medal suggests, so people really aren't getting trapped in the wrong tier. That's why we've seen diamond tier players getting stomped on matches against golds. They had ranked up to diamond (probably illegitimately) but ended up in gold matches after losing streaks.
The placement matches only serve to recalibrate your MMR based on your individual individual performance to (hopefully) get you into matches with people who can perform similarly. This negates the effects of carrying and regression.

That is interesting. For some reason during the 10 games we had people in our team who went 2K 19D and the like, so our losing matches were up to 30 down which would imply seriously off MMRs. One guy in our team even ended up with negative kills. All these players had less than 10 games under their belt, I'd cry hard if their MMR was same as mine.
The matches since have been good, though. I am still matched against high golds like I was before my downranking, and I still often perform better than them.
