The long-awaited Oblivion Remastered patch is finally coming

it's quite laughable the free pass Todd and his team still seem to get around this shit. It's not acceptable - especially not on a remaster of a fucking ancient game lol.

I remember a few years ago where everyone was screaming at devs to drop their own engine efforts and just use UE5, just use UE, just use it. Aside from middle and upper management orgasming about the idea of reducing dev costs we got a great screenshots engine (lovely for curated videos and marketing shots) and tons of problems in almost every game using it. Ghosting, disocclusion artefacts, stuttering, IQ instability, etc…
 
Is this as bad as the GTA remasters?
No. Not at all. Playing on og ps5. I've seemingly been lucky cause I only get a few random crashes which are easily remedied cause the autosave is good.

Have a 65 hour save and a 25 hour save. Haven't been locked out of quests or had any crazy bugs.
 
I honestly incredibly dissapointed with this team.
Because theres a critical bug in my game that doesn't allow me to complete a main quest of the game. So I can't beat this game because of it. Since then I stopped playing it.
If this patch doesn't fix this quest, then I'm considering asking for a refund.

I'm not joking. Theres absolutelly no change whatsoever. My equipment still breaks at every single strike by basically everything, some effects still cause drops and stuttering, etc.

And the best of all: I still can't beat this game because they didn't fix the main quest bug(Blood of Divines). So once again I'm trapped from ending this crap.
For anyone remotelly interested in this game, do not buy it. Wait until they get everything fixed, if this gonna be ever be fixed.
As for me...I already uninstalled my game and I will fight against it to get my refund because no way in hell I will accept a broken game that I can't even be finished. I don't remember the last time I felt that way, thanks Todd.

If this is about one of the ghosts, then people have gotten past it by waiting 24 hours in game. You can also use console commands if on PC...

The bug you're talking about is about the ghost not moving. My bug is critical since the skeleton killed the ghost. He is "dead" on the ground and I can loot all his itens. Those are 2 completelly different cases and reddit people tend to mix those 2 on purpose to make it feel like its not a big deal.

Dont know about anyone else, but after the new patch on the PS5 version it hitches more than i ever noticed before when in the open world. Lots of random one second pauses while walking. It didnt do this pre patch....way to go

This. I'm FURIOUS with Sony and Bethesda for allowing this piece of shit to be sold. It's garbage even on PS5 Pro and the last patch made it run WORSE. Fuck you Todd
 
Funniest thing is there is still this ...line in the sky that is still in the game and wasn't even fixed in the last patch...its like a misplaced god ray that shouldn't be there or some bug from a sky box tile. I don't know what it is but it looks dumb. Anyone else bothered by this?

We're so fucked with this game. It's never ever getting fixed.

One thing I actually am despising "the community" for is how Bethesda shitting out janky-ass games is just treated as "ah, well, it's par for the course for a Bethesda game, haha. Modders will fix it!"
It's a multi-billion Dollar company, you can and should expect that they put out a fucking product that works. It already was not really OK when Daggerfall came out, and it certainly is not OK now.
 
There's a game breaking bug where the enemies gain levels whenever I gain levels ruining any sense of progression. Any chance there's a hot fix for this yet?

Do bandits still wear glass and daedric armor when you are at a high enough level?

I notice that after I was facing enemies and even with proper enchants they are still taking ages to beat.
The fucking idiots didn't even fix the equips breaking in a single hit. I can't face a single dog or a bear without them instantly breaking a piece of armor. I aways need to hold repair hammers, because dungeons without them are impossible to tranverse.

In my case they do but only rarely. Most of times they use either leather or steel. Only in cases like that dungeon wheres theres tons of enemies that ends up being easier to find them.
But it doesn't matter, all enemies I used to face gets harder and harder to beat, with exceptions of dogs and bears.
Even the goddang skeletons tend to be a challange because they are way to bulkier to accomodate my level and the biggest problem is that they summon other skeletons(which are basically copy paste of them). Sometimes they even bug the mages den because theres not enought space for that amount of enemies.

Yes and it's just as ridiculous.
For the OG version there have been bunch of mods to fix that. No idea of course if it works with the remaster.

Yeah, I used a mod that changes the leveled lists. No more minotaurs just roaming the roads at level 20. No more lowly bandits in a full set of glass armor. Things only get dangerous deep inside dungeons or way out in the wilderness where there is little human presence.

Yep, and usually a good one will set certain areas as more dangerous and of course also properly adjust the loot.

Bethesda is the laziest dev out there. Not only do they don't want to bother with optimization and patching, they also don't want to deal with enemy encounter design, loot distribution and so on.

I have 0 expectations on next ES being good at this juncture.
 
I'm still waiting for a performance patch. Might get it on PS5 Pro or on my new PC, but only when the stuttering/performance issues are gone...
 
It's funny seeing people parrot the arguments about level scaling when most issues with level scaling in the original have been fixed in the remaster:
- leveling being based on the increase of all skills and not main skills;
- stat distribution always gives the same number of points on level up unlike in the original;
- endurance gains apply retroactively so you can't fuck up your build by leveling the wrong stats first.

Unless you really go out of your way to powerlevel you should have zero issue with it in the remaster. Even the classic "high level Kvatch" issue isn't as bad as in the original.

I don't care if he's right or technically knowledgeable, he's got the most punchable face I've ever seen and his arrogance is off the charts. Hope his YouTube career works out for him (clearly what he's setting himself up for) because I doubt any studio will want him onboard their teams.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I've learned some stuff from his videos, but his arrogance is absolutely off the charts and I cannot handle him. I, too, hope he makes a decent living online, as noone with balls would be able to stomach being around him for longer than a half hour without fuckin him up. He's just an absolute cunt.
