Yeah, that's cool. There are a few places on The Ark as you're walking through those buildings that are similar to pieces of geometry on the first Halo too. Thought it was a nice touch

The Ark is dope. I remember during the lead up to the game's launch speculating what the Ark was. I thought it was whatever Truth's Keyship had landed on in Kenya. Man those were the days.

People are okay with the DMR being better than the BR? I thought "hardcore" Halo fans despised the DMR.

I've wanted to see this happen since I saw that Halo 2 demo. I wonder why they got rid of the dual function.

Ugh, no. The BR is already the go to weapon for almost every single situation, let's not make it the go to long range rifle as well.
Isn't the BR a 3 shot kill right now? That makes it pretty different from a 5 shot DMR...
Is it? That seems very fast. I thought Frankie said that the kill times are on par with previous Halos.

Did perks affect Halo all that much...?

I mean shit tonnes of people complained about them because CoD had them first but did they really have a big impact on the gameplay?

I'm in no way advocating they stay, I'm only saying that of the issues 4 had, perks were pretty minor.

You could win a fight by having the faster weapon switch or reload, you could start with two utility rifles. Unlimited sprint. Ejector. Faster/more care packages.

One of my friends texted me this morning saying there would be a patch tomorrow but he's not really very community-sav so I wasnt sure how legit it was.

Other than ejector (which is bullshit) I don't agree that these had a major impact on the gameplay. How many times did you feel you died because someone had a reload perk?

Yeah, I forgot about ejector which I agree was pretty bad. However the others never seemed to have a massive impact imo.

It's a 4sk, although I think it should be a 3sk with less aim assist.

Magnum looks to be a 5-7 shot kill, but I can't tell for sure from the footage I've seen.
Based off this kill it seems to be 5 shots. 4 to drop the shields and 1 to the head.

It's a bit hard to tell because the kill is kind of messy at the end.

Disappointment. Because ya know ADS is shit and sprint is still in to the bewilderment of most people.
Here's hoping it doesn't disappoint. Though with the fine line it's walking I think it could go either way.

I'm not saying perks were a good thing. I'm saying that of the issues 4 had, they were a minor one. And not something which majorly affected the gameplay.

Menu transitions are quicker for sure.

Leaving matchmaking, there's a notification in the bottom right telling you're leaving.

Please have party splitting fixed.

Here's a list of all of them for reference (minus the added DLC ones).

  • Tactical Packages
    AA Efficiency: Increases recharge rate of Armor Abilities.

    Fast Track: Increases the amount of XP earned per match.

    Firepower: Allows two primary weapons to be used in a single loadout.

    Grenadier: Increases total grenade capacity.

    Mobility: Allows unlimited sprinting stamina.

    Requisition: Allows two different sets of options for equipment rewarded through ordnance drops.

    Resupply: Allows grenades to be retrieved from dead players.

    Shielding: Increases shield-recharge rate.

    Wheelman: Improves durability of vehicles, as well as decreasing downtime when affected by EMP discharges.


    Support Upgrades
    Ammo: Increases ammo capacity.

    Awareness: Allows radar to be visible while zooming in with a scoped weapon.

    Dexterity: Increases reload and weapon swapping speeds.

    Drop Recon: Allows users to know the time and place of ordnance deployments prior to the drops actually occurring.

    Explosives: Decreases damage taken from explosives, and increases damage dealt with explosives.

    Gunner: Improves upon elements of heavy weapon specialists, such as increasing the amount of time a mounted weapon takes to overheat during sustained fire or improving the general speed and mobility while carrying a detached turret.

    Nemesis: Allows user to hone-in on the last enemy who killed them.

    Ordnance Priority: Reduces points required for ordnance drops.

    Sensor: Increases the range and sensitivity of the radar.

    Stability: Increases aiming stability while taking incoming fire.

    Stealth: Allows users to move silently during combat, lowers their visibility profile on certain VISR enhancements (like Promethean Vision), and increases their ability to kill enemies from behind.

We ended up with a tied vote in the lobby and now the game has broke. It's got both maps up as if it's trying to load them and has been doing so for 5 minutes. People are slowly backing out and it eventually kicked us all back to lobby.

Is there seriously nothing in place to force one map over the other in the result of a tie? Really?

Fuck me.

The one on the left is the one that wins in that case. May be that the loading simply failed in your case all together.

No problem. I'm just happy the pistol seems to be useful again. Not sure how I feel about its scope though...

I'm really happy 343 seems to be doing a 180 on that perk biz.

Was so confused for a second there...
