Well if you won it, as opposed to buying it, and how badly MCC launched, why wouldn't you trade in? Could make a quick $200+ or something. Maybe the guy was well off and didn't really care about making more via private sale or eBay.
I regret buying my Xbox One as well. Every multiplatform is worse than PS4, losing out on games like Bloodborne and Street Fighter V, but hey, at least I can play Halo 5 (with sprint and ADS). It's just gathering dust as I finish off my x360 backlog now. I lucked out with a lot of deals around the time I got my sunset one, but I think about trading it in or selling it all the time. MCC killed so much of my Halo love/hype. Buying Halo 5 would be more out of habit and what is expected than what I really want. Probably will be the first Halo game since Halo 2 I also don't do midnight launch for.

It just depends on your taste in games. My PS4 collects dust while I play Xbox One and 360

I sold my PS4 last year. There was nothing exclusives wise from Sony that i care about. Yeah sure the Multiplatforms games are a bit worse on XboxOne but besides that? XboxOne felt better to me.
I will maybe get a PS4 again when the Ratchet and Clank game turns out good. Or that new Guerilla game. Until then its XboxOne only for me.
I stopped caring about all the Resolution gate stuff. Give me the games i want to play.
And i have to agree with you Madness. MCC killed my excitement for Halo too. I really cant get hyped anymore for a new Halo game. My get to go Multiplayer now are the Battlefield Games. And soon Battlefront.
Kinda sad when i think about it. Halo was the main reason to buy a Xbox for me. Bought the 360 day1 because i knew H3 was coming etc.
Now? I bought the One because i couldnt stand oldgen anymore. Yes i know the Xbone isnt as good as the PS4, but still a generation leap im happy with most of the time.

Yeah my XB1 has sat in my closet since December. Quantum Break is straight up the only game I want, and it's not coming out for a whole year. I'm not that interested in Halo anymore too. Not to say the PS4's a goldmine, but BB and superior multiplats make it the only console I've actually played in the last 6 months.

I thought it was a limited edition console, that's why I was confused by a trade in. Those usually go up in price later. If it's just a skin on a regular XB1, then yeah I can understand a trade in.
For me I just mainly bought my XB1 for the Halo series. Other then that I just play on my PC and my Wii U for Nintendo exclusives. The only games that interest me on the PS4 are BB and No Man's Sky. NMS is coming to the PC and I'm not going to buy a PS4 just for BB.

Yeah, I'm just saying. Most games I buy or will buy are multiplats like GTA, Assassins etc. Legitimately each version will run/look better on PS4. As much as I hate Sony controllers, I think I could overlook that. Plus, literally only Halo and Gears kept me on Xbox. MCC hyped me enough to buy it, but the launch pretty much killed all that good vibe.
Yeah, plus in my case, I'm pretty much dwindling in real life friends who game. So the draw of using xbox one controller, or having what I thought was the superior online service is ending as well. Never before have I had so many issues with party chat, joining games, etc. The Dualshock 4 is still inferior in my eyes, but definitely better than the PS1/PS2/PS3 Dualshock designs. So question becomes, if I want the next grand theft auto, battlefront, would be better to have the more capable console and grin and bear it with console.
We're all xbox fans here, but I don't know, Xbox One a very disappointing console in a lot of aspects.

Yeah it's funny. The "radio sound" is such a natural shorthand for viewer/listener comprehension I can't see it ever going out of style.

Or it could be that it doesn't fit the narrative 343 want. Utterly laughable that humans and elites would be drinking in bars together a mere five years after the war ended. Halsey is a war criminal because she abducted some kids to turn them into supersoldier heroes who do go on to save the Galaxy, but hey let's give escorts to the Arbiter and his people who probably glassed and personally killed thousands or millions of humans.

Your realpolitik is weak as fuck. You team up with the Arbiter and his buddies specifically because you want to move past the whole "glassing and personally killing thousands or millions of humans" thing, because frankly the UNSC is not equipped to fight all the of the remaining covenant splinter factions running around any more. They need an ally, and this is the best one they've got.
It didn't take long for Americans to get buddy-buddy with the Japanese and Germans after the war. Not to mention there's a lot of outer colonists out there who feel like responsibility for the war and the destruction it caused was all the UNSC, same as it ever was. Finally, adversity breeds strange bedfellows.

This fucking game, I swear. Nothing ever fucking works, it's always a struggle to play this shit.
Thats the reason why i just stick to the campaigns. I dont have the patience anymore for the MP.

Halo 4 looks so damn good in MCC; you could easily fool someone that it's a current-gen game.
Say what you will about Halo 4's lore or gameplay decisions - 343's artists are top notch and it really shows in this game.

I was pretty unimpressed with Halo 4s Art. There's something about the graphics in that game that just feel 'off'. It's feels stale and plastic? I don't know how to explain it.
That makes no sense. Of course they should ally with elites to reach peace and move on from the war, but a galactic-wide pardon of any and all war crimes by certain elites?
Halsey is literally handcuffed and treated as a dictator because she kidnapped some kids who went on to save the Galaxy and humanity from extinction, but you're actually going to forgive certain elites to probably glassed millions with a button press? Just saying the story is ridiculous in that humans would turn on Halsey while giving a blind eye to almost everyone else.
The Americans were the victors of the war. The humans in Halo only barely survived extinction after being utterly defeated at every corner of the galaxy including Reach. Additionally, lingering resentment against Japanese, especially by servicemen or survivors/victims of Pearl Harbor continued well into the 80's, and the Americans also punished each and every major player in those countries, senior officers. Fleeing Nazi's were also hunted down in every corner of the globe to face prosecution for their crimes. Leaders/Generals like Hideki Tojo were also sentenced and hanged till death for their actions too. They wouldn't have been welcomed with open arms and forgiven anywhere. Hell, go beyond America and look at the lingering resentment in China and Korea against Japan.

Halsey is handcuffed because they need to pin it on somebody. Karin Traviss kind of poisoned the well, admittedly, but ONI pinning the blame on Halsey is pretty great from a lore perspective. Was handled well in Spartan Ops, IMO.
And when the Elite in question is leading the only friendly faction out there... yeah, you let that stuff slide. The UNSC isn't in any position to make an issue of it.
Pin what though? It literally makes no sense. Humanity was on the verge of extinction. Billions died. Entire planets and colonies destroyed. The last thing anyone is thinking is, hey that guy who saved us and the Galaxy, he was kidnapped as a youth, and even though who he was and grew up to be was due to Halsey, she deserves to be punished. The ends justified the means there. If you can let the rest slide, you can let a couple of kidnapped kids and flash clones slide. Since when does any victor punish their own for helping win a war, an all-out war that meant utter destruction if lost.

It's been known to happen, though typically it's more about tyrants trying to bury potential threats to their authority like popular war heroes. Stalin did it a few times, IIRC.
As to the rest: I agree with you (mostly), but not everybody thinks that way. Even in a war of genocide, sometimes the ends don't justify the means, or at least not everybody agrees that they do. Public opinion generally frowns on kidnapping children, even if it's necessary for the greater good.
Halo 4 is impressive in how well it tackles its polished-at-a-glance and lots-of-details goals, but its aggressive compromising on Bungie's graphical priorities really let it down. Game looks hazy and dead with an occasional side helping of blotchy.
Halo doesn't need ultra high detail, it needs high-quality flair. Consistent and clean visual makeup, good dynamic lights, high-quality specular, and effects budget that can punch up the dynamics as needed.

Actually, to ONI AFAWK the Arbiter's already outlived his usefulness. As for right after the war they're supplying arms to his opponents to try and destabilize his position.
We dunno how it pans out, as obviously the Arbiter is still alive as of Halo 5, but we don't know much about the political situation of Sanghelios c. 2558.
