I'm literally getting deja vu here. Seems almost exactly the thinking pre-Halo 4. 'Eh I'm glad this is Warzone only, if you don't want this you have Arena'. 'If you don't like Infinity, you always have Team Slayer to fall back on' etc.

Warzone is just shaping up to be ridiculously unbalanced even if people can unlock things eventually. I get that it's a new mode, let people go wild. But what's wrong with PvP/PvE but with regular weapons?

I guess they could have a second playlist with weapon bonuses disabled?

---
I kind of just wanted to see a pure PvE mode.

I still haven't figured out what's going on with these explosions textures.

What about them? Kinda hard to see.

Also, ragdoll Mantis is amazing. Hope they keep it.

And i would prefer some kind of Gunbench /Customization System over this "random" Card System.

Let me build my own AR with all that shit lol
Maybe even Custom Skins xD

Hmmmm, I wonder what the chances are that with the bayonet attached you can kill someone with one melee hit. I'm not advocating for it just curious.
Might be possible, I think these attachments are exclusive to warzone which has huge maps and probably less melee clashes than arena.

I am the only one that thinks that there are going to be more modes that will have this different weapon variants in it?
Maybe even some 4v4 or 6v6 modes?

There are maybe some people that would prefer the Arena Style combat with all this new Variants etc
I hope they keep the 4v4 stuff clean and ranked. It will be interesting to see how many playlists are there at the start though. I can see them adding more than what we know about presently.

I personally would like this too, but I think the reason for the REQ cards is to distance themselves from Halo 4. Even if in name only, it's smart for 343i to distance themselves from the loadout profiles that so many associate Halo 4's unsatisfactory play. It could easily be argued that within Warzone loadouts could easily work, but they're wanting a higher adoption rate, so they'd probably want to sell this as a brand new experience instead of just Infinity 2.0.

Do they have stabbing animations with the bayonet at least?

The blade itself seems rather unbalanced for the silhouette.

Wouldn't mind wielding this however:

Something feels off about the DMR skin. Maybe it's the colouration of the silencer and scope (middle stripe) not matching the rest. The BR version seems more coherent.

Similar greys on the scope, and the barrel matches the colour scheme.

The skin designs seem to have come a long way since the simple plasma pistol ones featured in The Sprint. Looking forward to seeing more and how it will all work in game.

I don't hate any of these skins by any means at the moment but i hope there's a wide variety in-game, a lot of these are a bit noisy and i'd love some minimalist designs.

For example, my favorite skin for the Assault Rifle in Halo 4 was this one, didn't stand out like a sore thumb.

That and the blue tiger camo one, I think it was called predator.

I'm sure we'll see more standard attachments, but I'm also glad they're showing some things that may in-universe have been influenced by the advanced tech available to them (Covenant, Forerunner, #becausefuture). After considering that these are not connected directly with the skins and that they can be added separately, I'm really excited for how this will play out.

Well, on the other hand the steampunk skins were comparatively garish (although I loved them to death.)

I hate how boring the laser has gotten.

In Halo 3 when you fired the thing it felt powerful. It had a huge burst of recoil and popped you out of the scope. And the sound it made was fantastic. Now it may as well be a plasma pistol with extra damage. VERY underwhelming.

I feel like they've done that with all the Covenant weapons. H5 Needler, Plasma Pistol, Carbine and especially the Energy Sword. The sound when you opened the Sword in 1/2/3 was sick.

Already forgot about that weapon.

mm... I guess next to the Plasma Launcher, it lacks a certain presence or an audible identity even.

It's a rather plain sounding weapon to fire whereas the PL had that audible warning sound that everyone could hear (without it being obnoxiously loud), and there's the sound effects while you load up the four plasma shots. The PL just ends up more satisfying when you sticky someone.

Even with the rocket launcher, you have to make the shots count with much less ammunition. Of course, the actual grenade launcher took skill to use.

With the Hydra, it huffs and it puffs, and then the spartan shoves in some thumb-sized munition.

Nothing's final etc, but that's how it seemed when I saw it in action.

Yea, H2A everything looked and sounded nice. They're pouring so much into Halo 5 I'm sure, it makes me wonder why most of the weapon audio/visuals aren't up to snuff.

As FyreWulff mentioned it's still WIP, but I guess at the end of the day it will come down to differences in the audio & visual effects directors' preferences -

why do the ARs sound so different between H2A & H5
why does it feel like everything has a clacking/shifting sound in H4/5
etc.

Woah what, I can't believe I didn't realise the AR has 36 bullets in Halo 5 until now. Was it like this in the beta?

Why is the same style of building in every map?

All the UNCS maps look like an Empire remix. Lots of rooms and clutter. I want to see a Lockout or Ivory Tower inspired map.

The most logical thing a suppressor should do in a Halo game apart from muted sounds is that the player getting shot won't get any visual feedback from where the shot came from.

Spartan Laser looks and sounds more like a laser pointer now.

Also - those animated hit markers are. just. so. bad.

Some people have stated they don't like these hitmarkers, but I personally like them a lot. It's still subtle enough where if you don't look for it, it's basically unnoticeable, but for those who look for them, it's not an eye-strain to pick them up.

I also think it's acceptable although if not fairly pronounced. It's way better than say a COD hitmarker. That shit is just too thick and obtrusive. Halo 5's are long and thin, they don't really block the target in any way. Still wouldn't mind if it was toned down a bit though.
