- Ar starts are fine. Could take them or leave them doesn't matter.
- Wasn't a fan of Gemini.
- Infinity drops were fine. Again, didn't matter. I made use of them because they were there. Won't miss them now that they are gone.

Completely agree. There are more important things in MP to me than how weapons arrive on the battlefield
though I did like the canonical connection to the drops, versus just magically appearing
.

So, is Warzone Halo 5's answer to Firefight and or Spartan Ops, or can we expect another mode like that?

Also, is Warzone one gametype only? I feel like I don't fully understand the game mode TBH.

Somebody asked the same question in an other thread and Frankie said it's replacing Spartan Ops and Firefight.

As for the 2nd question. There's the Warzone mode they have been showing at E3 and then there's the one Josh Holmes talked about on here, which sounded kinda similiar to Invasion. They'll probably have more variants of Warzone.

So far yes. There are also two Warzone gametype.

One gametype involves AI. You fight the other team and the AI to get access to better weapons, first team to 1000 points or destroying the enemy's base wins.

The second type of Warzone doesn't involve AI. One team is attacking, while the other defends. So essentially it's Invasion with no Elites. Or if you ever played Rush in Battlefield.

That's what they told us about the Halo 3 pistol, and that thing is probably the single worst pistol in anything ever.

I do agree that the H3 pistol is the worst gun ever.

Ill actually miss them for social modes. Playing MCCs Halo 4 custom games and calling down an overshield midbattle was that best way to lose xbox live friends. A guy I play with way too often was used to the turbo updated MCC version of 4 so when we did a custom game and I used that against him he was furious. You had to time it just right to save yourself and start healing midfight. Is it fair or balanced? Hell no. But it was a neat addition for customs.

Plus how else are you gonna get overshield and speed boost at the same time!?

I think he meant Ordnance Drops. They worked like killstreaks, but were much less rewarding since they were randomized. And even though they were randomized, they still often resulted in a snowball effect and ruined the game anyway.

They basically took the idea from COD, but then made it less fun while also still managing to ruin the competitive aspect of the game.

CE Magnum was a mistake :>

So were you, but look how beautiful you turned out to be.

Yes, it is a replacement. No firefight or spartan ops.

I won't miss Spartan Ops, though it was a cool concept.. but I still hope Firefight eventually makes a return to form.

Maybe we can just get ODST Firefight a cheap standalone release with some additions, updates and online MM.

Ok, this makes me happy. The mode with AI does seem cool, but I am really excited to hear that something strictly PvP is taking advantage of the larger playercount and maps. Plus, Invasion was pretty fantastic at times, so if they really iron out the gameplay and rules we may be in for a real treat.

A little behind but if Battlefront isn't your thing, next year's Doom also has no iron sights. From the E3 demo, it had classic scopes and accurate hip fire, as well as the fast movement. Coupled with their crazy map editor, I can easily see the PC FPS community embrace it, maybe console players as well.

+New UT is slowly getting better and better

I heard Livechamber is gonna be the bees-knees.

2020 release tho

The Extended Edition, maybe. The pure Arena stuff that holajaffe cares about should be in a state resembling playable (albeit not retail-quality - think more Minecraft progressive updates and less "we're inviting you to bugtest our game!") around Q4 2016.

I did not post goatse in my Halo ODST fear mongering thread. I was framed.

Also, I want to apologize for posting the thread prematurely like that. It's not fair to members of this forum like Frank who deal with our crazy community to have to do damage control in situations where someone makes inflammatory threads. So my apologies Frank. Like I said, the thread was intentionally hyperbolic and OBVIOUSLY my post saying I forced you to release the game when you did was a joke. I'll amend my sins.

While we're on this topic I have a question regarding weapon balance and wanted some opinions / feedback, but at the same time I try and avoid shitting up this thread with my various mixtapes so I'll only go into OG Wahrer mode if there's interest.
no interest

I like the fact AR starts will promote map movement, but at the same time its gonna blow when I get lit up off spawn by BR's and im stuck with a pistol.

AR/BR would probably be better, maybe lower the starting ammo?

Everyone spawns with Spikers.
"the lore-accurate bullet spread promotes map movement and encourages the player to fight in close quarters, thus utilizing the melee third of the golden triangle"

dang, making up bad opinions is easier than I thought

question

filtration system like iron-man's suit

I liked it better in the Halo 3 days when it was a silver square and Sandtrap had even spawns.

Well, that depends on the pistol, doesn't it?

Plus, on a map like Truth if you manage to get totally locked out of the BR/DMR stockpile, that's... kind of on you. Damn things are everywhere, there's 3 in each base.

Master Chief will be the goddamn Kwisatz Haderach before this franchise is over, mark my words.

I am 110% okay with this. Put Dune in ALL the things!

BREAKING NEWS: Halo 5 to introduce "chartreuse hexagon"

replace the Mantis with a sandtrout suit pls 343

Edit : We should have a HaloGAF book club and read Dune. I'm 60% serious.

I would like to append my previous statement by introducing an important addendum to the "Dune, Fuck Yeah" principle:

Fuck Brian Herbert.
I never got to his books. I think I stopped on the fourth book when shit got weird. I should go back to'em tho.

PS: I think this is a new tangent for HaloGAF. Achievement unlocked?

Don't.

Like, go back and finish Frank's books, but... his son's?

No.

EDIT: He actually apparently has some non-Dune work which may or may not be good, but The Butlerian Jihad is a literary atrocity, so I would avoid those too, on general principle.

I'll take any tangent over the cesspool of the last 36hrs. Let's talk about sci-fi and sand worms if that's what it takes.

I've never read Dune and I shall add it to my list

This game drives me crazy every time I decide to play it. Having multiple teammates go 4-17 is a bit infuriating. I understand everyone has off games, but ugh. I'm by no means a great player, but these guys are just terrible. I just don't understand how they're having fun doing it.

I'm up for it, it'll help keep me on track with the book. We should set up a reading schedule tomorrow and have it done by the end of July.
Cool. I can make a new thread for it in the off-topic community board if other folks are interested. I'm going on a date in a minute tho (WISH ME LUCK) so I'll do it later.
