Great article, guys. Ram, your son is adorable in that picture.
Holy crap - I just noticed that if you're looking at your stats on Halo Waypoint (app.halowaypoint.com) and you hit the little 'i' in the bottom left corner, you can turn off the animated background!
Way cool. That annoyed me.
A word of advice, 343. Your site has long suffered from being able to access it with any consistency. If you add a feature that needs a switch so people can turn it off, DON'T ADD THE FEATURE. Give me stats that are easy to read and find, not clutter it up with animations that mask the lack of content and quality.

Might as well start off the morning with a rant:
Why the multiplayer lobbies are so poorly thought out? I could have been behind the large and ugly player cards if they offered anything of value to me as an opponent. They don't. A player cannot use a Specialization until s/he's completed it, so having that listed on the bottom of the card is absolutely meaningless. All I get to see is how someone chooses to look, which has absolutely nothing to do with what kind of perks they chose to use. It's baffling that 343 would choose to move to such a useless format when previous Halos relayed information in the best way possible.
I'd also like to be able to tell who's in a party together, you know, like Reach did so elegantly. I can't. I can see that people have mics and may or may not be in a party chat just so they don't have to hear screaming children curse them out, but that's about it. I was under the mistaken impression that matchmaking would pair solo players with other solo players, but after playing Team Regicide last night, that's very much not the case. I got paired with three other people for one match (the only way I could tell was because they had the same emblems), and later played against what had to have been full teams because we just got destroyed fast. If I would have been able to tell that I was playing against a team of people, I would have backed out and started searching again. Perhaps that last statement is why such meaningful information isn't presented to the player any more; fast matches seem to be the only real concern for this game.
The lack of anything relevant in the lobby is just extremely poor form. 343 can't even be bothered to put up gametype information while waiting for the match to start (which to be fair, Bungie stopped doing after Halo 2). I know this can/will never be fixed for this game, but I hope going forward that 343 moves in a better direction with the lobby system.
