I'm not from California, but I believe your state turned the the Senate primary into a runoff type elections. The two Democrats received the more votes than anyone else in the process, so now they are competing head to head.

The problem is that I don't know who either of them are and I usually just vote down party lines.

Trump can't win VA, he's basically conceded CO and VA for a "try to depress turnout as much as possible and target PA heavily" plan to try and pick up PA/NC/OH/FL, which is basically his only remaining path to victory with CO and VA out of the equation.

If he does lose PA but wins all those other states, he can win if he also gets Nevada and NH (which, again, is the point of the current "try and depress turnout" strategy).
