I'm just gonna say it, the real problem with this thread is that it's Heckfu's birthday every god damn day. When is it Heckfu? It's not even possible to have so many birthdays. Where's your BC?
I have to agree that my game connection quality has been better this week too! A little slower to match but that is perfectly fine and expected to get Aussie games, kudos 343i and thanks for the locality tweaks.
You should scroll over to your Xbox so I don't have to play Regicide.I didn't even realize he was back, I guess I just naturally scroll over it.

I'd spin that around a bit. How do you avoid an encounter with somebody who is hidden, creeping beyond a doorway with a sword? In classic Halo I mean. You shouldn't be forced to avoid an encounter if you didn't choose the right ability to spawn with.
Avoid all scissors because you chose paper.
Hey, if that's how you get your kicks. You're the reason there is a K/D stat in the first place.I learned how to abuse bad gameplay balance to shoot my K/D up fro 0.8 to 1.4. Does that count?
I see that Antitype learned absolutely nothing from his ban.

Or the player who has high ground and rockets and spots you first? Or the guy on the back of the gauss hog who has the bead on you?
I don't see how your spawn loadout disqualifies you from anything or makes you a definite target for something else, it just makes you better prepared for some situations and not others.
Oh, so you stopped relying on crutches like absurd melee lunge range?I learned how to abuse bad gameplay balance to shoot my K/D up fro 0.8 to 1.4. Does that count?
I can confirm that Heckfu's birthday is actually within the next few days.
Oh, so you stopped relying on crutches like absurd melee lunge range?
If it's on the 21st, that would be weeeird.
For reasons.
That doesn't answer the question of how you're supposed to deal with those situations when they occur. When you spawn in classic Halo you'd still have to deal with rocket wielding enemies and sword/shotgun crouchers, and its best to avoid them until you can equalize things or attain an advantage. You can gain that advantage by more than just acquiring weapons placed on the map. Things aren't decided at spawn. Are you being serious? In classic Halo, the only way to procure a rocket or sword is to earn it by battling it out on the map, retrieving it from the spawn, and taking it to an advantageous position.
In Halo 4, you either spawn with the hilariously broken weapon of choice *cough*Boltshot*cough* or call it in after a few kills/assists/distractions/random medal of choice, where-ever you choose.

Halo 3 is so laggy holy shit
That's good news. It has been a lag fest for me since day 1. I'll try it today.
Haha, just got matched up with a group of negative K/D re-res on complex who felt the best strategy possible is to crowd together, bump into each other while aiming, and stepping in front of shots while teammates are zoomed in. Went -1 and left immediately.
Ah, Halo 4 matchmaking. Like some kind of crazy social experiment to see how long consumers will put up with nothing less than the lowest level of festering shit available.
LTTP but this is really the only good thing to come out of this discussion lately.I was going to correct you hear. Butt I don't half the hart.
what's a re-res
Euphemism for retahds.

Well your between ban cameo has at least been interesting.
*shrugs* Why? Telling Denis Dyack, for example, that he failed incredibly at achieving his vision for Too Human wasn't ban-worthy. Why is doing the same for 343i?

Well, I admire your decision to handicap yourself. My K/D started skyrocketing once I started lurking around corners with the starting shotgun pistol, using PV to line up the shot in the seconds before the came around into kill range.
As for stickies, every short-range weapon and melee attempt (successful or not) becomes an instant kill. Even if you die, they die too with a simple pull of the left trigger.
And the 'beauty' of it? You don't even have to earn the right to use this shit by fighting for it on the map! Every respawn, you're right back to being an overpowered hilarity.

I don't see how your spawn loadout disqualifies you from anything or makes you a definite target for something else, it just makes you better prepared for some situations and not others. There will always be imbalances, and deaths that catch you by surprise, and just plain bad luck. You're never fully prepared for every encounter.
Antitype was banned? For what?
Not sure if serious.

So it's probably not a great idea to follow up a moderator warning you to remain civil with posts calling bad players in a video game "retards" and then doubling down by insisting the designers of the game are "retards" too.
I will explain this in further detail for those who do not understand it: the reason NeoGAF can seem to have such harsh moderation, and why it is seemingly so difficult to get an account here, is that it's extremely difficult to create a video game forum that is mature and friendly. I think forums with open-member policies like GameFAQs and loose moderation like IGNForums are evidence for how difficult it is and how particular and fragile our NeoGAF community is. We are constantly on the verge of being overrun by marauding hordes of intemperate children and jerks empowered by internet anonymity to fully express their obnoxious opinions.
Our swords may seem sharp at times, but the shining glint of their blades is absolutely necessary in order to create the community GAF has slowly but carefully nurtured.
Yes, we're blowing up virtual people in our warthogs, but that isn't an excuse to be mean and flippant with each other. Adults can play games too, but they don't play them like children do. If you want to play like children, there are literally dozens of forums on the internet which would be perfect for you. This just isn't one of them.
Thanks guys.

I've read far worse on this very forum.
I come to neogaf for many things. The mature discourse of games devoid of snark and pointed criticism isn't exactly what this place is renowned (or infamous) for. I mean seriously, have you read any thread in response to comments made or quoted by members of the industry?
Is it just the word 'retard' that sets off alarm bells? Cause the notion that the people responsible for making this game or that have no idea what their doing is ridiculously common on tis forum.
Found an unlisted ViDoc of Halo 4's development team and process.
