It's funny to watch GAF change it's tune when it comes to upgrading every other year when Sony starts doing it.

cs has better-looking players too
ugh, the king of competitive MP games, such power
too bad half the pros are hacking
cs is filthy all the way from the top down
Is that actually a problem the scene faces on a regular basis?

it's prison school, the borderline porn vade loved to post five times a page
The fucked up thing is that exactly how he'd like to be remembered when he dies, too.
"Oh, he used to love posting borderline porno comics on message boards, god rest his soul."

if by pros you include people in qualifiers and top tier pubs, yeah. if you mean actual pros that are established, nah
I hate listening to my own voice. I sound like I'm constantly sedated
na it's a problem with established pros as well, just take a look at one of the three hundred Flusha gifs floating around--dude is clearly hacking and there are more like him. he just aimlocks people through smokes, around corners, and through walls constantly to get positioning info and most recently (and most damning)
his aimlock got tripped up by a glitch on a cache wall that makes wall hacks think you can shoot through an impenetrable wall (so the hack flicks to the wall and starts firing and the player in question looks like a dumb shitter)
I think the case that flusha's cheating makes sense, but honestly I just don't buy it if only because he's been around (and been at the top) for long enough at this point that if he was cheating in matches that matter, someone would've figured it out. To believe that Flusha is cheating at Majors or ESL or whatever is to believe there's some conspiracy going on that allows him to.

y'all sound fine
like normal human beings with normal voices
Alright, let me rephrase. I don't think Flusha is currently cheating. All of those gifs are from a while back at this point. Years in esports time. Do I think Flusha did, at some point, cheat in official matches? Yeah, probably. Do I think Flusha is currently cheating in any official matches? Nope. Do I think it's odd that there's so much evidence that seems to indicate he's cheating and yet he wasn't kicked from the team or banned from official events? Yeah, that bit is extremely odd.

Not really. TI5 had 4.5m viewers in the Finals.
CSGO needs to up it's prize pools as well.
i think the dota 2 prizepools are honestly massive bubbles that will hurt the longevity of the scene more than they help. Once they start dropping interest in the prizepools will greatly drop. you're better off hyping the stories and the quality of play than the prize money. You can refer to 'real' sports for evidence of this.
Totally agree. Castles built on sand.
That's a good metaphor. And with regular majors now I think it'll sink even faster. Already it feels like hype for Dota 2 tournaments is diminished. CSGO has similar saturation that Dota 2 had last year, with hype for majors similar to hype for DAC or TI, so clearly massive prize pools aren't required to keep the hype high for big tournaments.
Honestly I'm not optimistic for the longevity of Dota 2, nor the MOBA genre, as a pillar of esports. Feels like growth is being greatly haulted.
Arena shooters will take their placehe says with great optimism
