I read a couple of pages in the Halo 4 official ban thread and appareantly people get banned for playing the DLC now, as already stated by bobs. A lot of those downloaded it today or yesterday. Some of those weren't even playing matchmaking, but customs and/or forging on those maps and got banned.

I feel very sorry for those guys.

And I think it's not 343i fault this time, except that the automated system is banning people. Blame Microsoft for telling us, that it was planed to be free 1st and a day later it is only 10 days free. Now they can't determine, who bought the map pack legally and who doesn't. That's just ridiculous...

I believe it's a Live ban. He's talking to Xbox support now.

A little bit of additional information, he downloaded the map pack (from what he said) on the second day of the "14 Day Buy-and-Play!™" promotion. He received the ban message this evening, however he hadn't turned on his Xbox since Thursday.

Whoever is in charge of this has messed up big time. I can't believe 343 didn't have the dignity/wasn't allowed to tell everyone they/Microsoft fucked up and now, people are getting banned for their mistake. That's truly sad.

Seriously I'll be super pissed if I'm banned because of Halo 4. Game isnt even good. If I can't play Blops2 because of some shitty BTB Halo 4 DLC I'm going to friggen rage.

Also Blops 2 tonight fellas. Be there or be a Halo 4 nerd.

I love this franchise. I love Halo so much. However shit just keeps getting worse and worse.

It's like you meet the perfect girl. She has nice curves, a beautiful face, smooth skin and a gentle touch. She's fun in every sense of the word. Your family and friends love being around her. She makes you look good and she's someone who you can brag and be proud of. It's a joy to wake up and be greeted by her.

Then years ago by. She starts getting fat and she has no drive. She argues with you all the time and you never get along. She doesn't know where she's going with her life. She feels like she could be someone so much better than she really is, however she's too lazy to make the necessary changes. You don't want to leave her because you've been with her for years. You grew up with her, you remember how good things used to be. Deep down she's still the girl you fell in love with, however you have a hard time finding that part of her. It comes out every once in a while after a few drinks, however it's just not enough.

You know things can get better. You know things could go back to the way they were. She just doesn't have the motivation to do it.

I just checked my account and it's not perma-banned. God knows, what I would done, if I was.

Probably nothing :lol

And the ban is not only hitting split-screen players, it's hitting solo players, too btw, even when they are not playing Crimson DLC.

Just release the fucking awful map pack for free, give season pass/LE people a new map pack.

But that might require 343i to design more maps in a limited amount of time, that they initially didn't have time for!

Wait, I mean outsource map designs.

Sweet Jesus. They really don't want us to play Halo 4. People are trying their damnedest and they just won't fucking let you. It's like they're trying to sink the ship. Holy shit.

Kyle was right on this one, too.

Give people some in game armor, skins etc as a pre-order bonus and not future map packs.

Developers are going crazy with this stuff and the sad part about it is, that we are fools and buying everything they tell us to buy. Well not everybody, but some are.

Best example was Mass Effect 3. In order to have every weapon, every armor you had to pay like 300 US$ or something like that.

Ban update: roommate still banned on Live. Just got off the phone with Xbox support. They told him to call them back if the problem hadn't corrected itself by tomorrow evening.
