Look past the nostalgia, guys. Lockout sucked on every gametype aside from Oddball and FFA Slayer. The game always forced its way into a standoff between Snipe tower and BR tower. Boring.
You can never take away the 16 man FFAs I had on that map.

Easily.I am super excited. Thanks for the great impression. Could it be the best Forerunner book? I will buy the American kindle version tomorrow.

>cage-like mapDamn this 'Cage' like map plays like ass on SWAT. I think it's called shutout? Too many small areas to hide coupled with the DMR and instant respawn is horrible. Just JiP'ed into a match and was instantly headshotted by guys embedded in and with a clear line of sight, but you cant even see their head.
This is how I have fun with this disappointing game. Seriously.
I do it whenever I'm winning by a lot (like in that game) or when I know I'm playing noobs.
It's fucking priceless seeing how people react. You always get something different. Some guys CHASE you and it is scary as fuck! Other guys, (smarter guys), jump off the map and I don't get the kill.
lol yeah Lockout TS fucking sucked
We had 3 Scarabs attacking one base.. might have been overkill
1v1s were good, too. Just every team game that wasn't Oddball and maybe KoTH = shit.
The two halves of this sentence are not compatible with each other. Blackout was junk, closing Library window was such a boneheaded decision...almost as boneheaded as putting regen and bubble shields on there. It's Lockout's Last Resort, a bad remake that changes things for the worse.Lockout was one of my favorite maps in Halo 2 and I really loved Blackout in Halo 3.
Lockout 1-Flag wasn't bad. It and Midship CTF were where tossing the flag up to teammates really shined as a mark of a good team. Spawns were problematic, but didn't usually break it too badly.Look past the nostalgia, guys. Lockout sucked on every gametype aside from Oddball and FFA Slayer. Lockout 4v4 slayer was amazing. The standoffs were good, that means tension builds players plot and try and figure a way to break a setup. The calculating. So good.
It was chess. In Halo form. It was godly, and you wont see that shit in these Halo games anymore.

Copy/Paste Posted to Waypoint. +100 Thanks lolLol hadn't played it before. Reminded me of cage even though it's designed much better. I actually liked it once I figured out wtf was going one since I JiP'ed.
On another note binary slayer is great. Something about snapshots with the BiRi just feels right.
Dem Elite hitboxes.Halo 3 SWAT 50 here. Ride host like a baws.
I was always window bitch! Not an easy job.
When is little to no incentive for map movement ever good? Pair that with some of the shittiest initial spawns in Halo history (good point Henery) and you end up with a godawful team slayer map.Lockout 4v4 slayer was amazing. An integral role watching bottom mid to BR1 and Blue. Not the most glorious but important none the less. Why would they close the window in Halo 3!? Did they never play Lockout competitively? Bungie, such a bad move.

I should start a "Don't hire juices" campaign. orznge and The Henery are invited.
When theres a standoff its good. When you have to think about your setup, and positioning, is when little map movement is good. Its like kids these days... "oh shit I have to think of where I'm standing and who can see what, lines of sight? What are those!? NOOO I'm not that good! Wahhh lemme just be anywhere and walk around wherever and not think of where my teammates and enemies are, I'll just armor lock if I'm in trouble!"
Little to no map movement equaling bad, is an incorrect preconceived idea. There is nothing wrong with standing still and thinking and plotting and carrying out a plan. If you think otherwise you have ADD, and colorful images still excite you like you are 3 months old.
I remember destroying teams of people who thought like you while my team was firmly planted in a solid setup and your team rushed over to our side not thinking...
You talking about map movement...get outta here.

I'd much prefer a Pit TS standoff
Setups were great and encouraging map usage is too (otherwise why have the rest of a map), but Lockout TS is a bad example. Given even teams, one team could autowin because of spawns and defaulting to a setup *they didn't have to earn*. That's the key. Setups were, and are, great, but having a superior one by default because you weren't screwed with a bottom lift spawn doesn't make for competitive play. Better examples were H2 Sanctuary, Warlock, Midship. I'd much prefer a Pit TS standoff than a Lockout TS one, only because of what goes into getting to that point.
EDIT: Just watched the sticky det video. GJ Duji.

would that mean having CE's (and every other deathmatch game's) weapon/powerup spawn system in Halo 2 would have made it a worse game?
this is such stupid shit to argue about because the weapon/powerup spawn system in H2 was horrific and caused a lot of the issues
edit: remember Zanzibar TS and Burial Mounds TS in matchmaking?
My 2nd wandered up but never got to fire
It runs fine? Are you kidding me? Gameplay issues aside, framerate dips in Dominion, Infinity BTB.
DLC maps accidently going free, maps also with bad framerate, Wreckage with Sunlight that is blinding you crossmap.
After a game it often sends you to a loop screen where nothing happens.
Still input lag in coop modes, splitscreen in MM unplayable because of cluttered UI or bad framerate.
In my opinion you're weighting that initial spawn issue way too much. Both teams could win both teams could get to and fight for sniper. They really couldnt fix that though back then...They had to release an update to change initial spawns didn't they? This just isnt the point of the argument right now. We are discussing why standoffs are awesome and not bad...and how setups rule and how Halo used to be a thinking mans game.
I dont even really remember that issue being that bad, I always seemed to do fine with that map.
I'd still take Lockout Slayer over any Halo 4 map slayer...yea Midship, Warlock were amazing TS maps too I agree those are better examples.
I never said worst. The map just sucks for TS, period.Duji: really it was the worst designed map? Do you even know the line of sights for that map? It was friggen brilliant. Just stop.
...I can't open it anymore unless there is a disc already in it...
Yeah my old Xbox had this issue, minues the scratching...
Yeah forgive me because it is common for some games it is excusable right?Meh
Other than the Crimson map glitch, you stated nothing uncommon about a AAA game's release. Just because H4 isn't the game you wanted doesn't make the game unplayable.

Sorry for insulting your sacred cow.Today i really learned that Duji is crazy as fuck
