It's sad how excited I am for a feature that should have already been implemented since day 1. Maybe 2 weeks. 5 months is pathetic.
So entitled

Well, I mean, we've been waiting for a meaningful way to update the game other than a title update since 2004. So hey, Halo is finally reaching the industry standard after almost ten years.
Perception works wonders.
That was just a TU in itself IIRCReach had a way to update the game w/o a title update tho...
Halo is dead.Halo Reach, Over? Has it really come down to this?
That was just a TU in itself IIRC
So, let me see what you are trying to say here, you really dont care about a solid gameplay, as long as your perception is satisfied?
I guess you represent Halo's future.... RIP small size maps and RIP getting punished for poor decision making. At least thanks to Halo 4 i discovered BF3, with only 4 map packs I have new vehicles, gametypes and weapons, buying the premium bundle has been one of the best spent money on Video Gaming I have done ever.
SANGHEILI IN KIMONOSI really think the biggest thing holding back Legends was the Japanese. Eastern animation and sentiments don't mesh with western storytelling and style.
Jump to conclusions much?
Halo is dead.
View pls.
Your words not mine.
What maps in this game do you feel is BTB?Id be fine with no sprint in 4v4. There's really no need for sprint on the small maps. But untill 343/CA start designing better BTB maps then sprint needs to stay.
Jump to conclusions much?
God its like Halo 1-3 was like the dark ages or something.
It worked fine and was overall better for gameplay. We want everyone to move at the same speed and be combat capable. Not choose between slow and combat capable vs fast and not being able to shoot. Like it used to be.
Sprint feels nice, but its all in your head. And its hard to get that perception out.
Where exactly did I say I "really dont care about a solid gameplay, as long as [my] perception is satisfied?"
I said the perception of sprinting works wonders to make people feel as if the player is moving faster. So if sprint were not in the game a simple animation change paired with the base player speed could simulate the idea that the Spartan is moving fast and quell complaints of the game seeming slow.
No need to apologize to me, or create a big reply for it, if you like sprint in Halo, That's cool, I understand this. Halo evolution is aimed at fans like you, so be happy that no matter what happens sprint is here to stay.

Actually read his line of posting, he did imply that he Preferred his perception to be satisfied, Disregarding gameplay, he just came and created an excuse after I pointed out this.Shouldn't you be the one apologizing to him? You're the one putting words in his mouth.
i'm like most of you and suffered a rollercoaster of emotion when reading 'lowered auto aim and magnetism...for the gauss hog'
Well I'm confused at this point, so sure.
I want sprint to stay but the gameplay to work with it to re-create the classic experience with modern twists. The second map pack showed that you can do smaller maps and keep sprint in the game. I think sprint would work on old maps as well.
If sprint were to be removed I could be satisfied if an animation were added to make it look like your Spartan were doing something other than walking. This would not have to affect gameplay all that much as it does't have to be a big long, hard to break animation.
So, yeah.

Evolution isn't a word I would use to describe it.
Devolution?
unvolutionDevolution?

I don't know if you read my usual long ass post above, but let's say none of that happens, sprint is removed, no wonky animation to make you think you are running, just an increase in movement and strafe speed, would you still play Halo or no?
Not as bad as ODST's terrible impact on the Halo franchise as a whole, right?Yes. Your bad.
I play Reach MLG all the time.Halo Reach, Over? Has it really come down to this?
what's changed?
what's changed?
Updated with the current list of changes, maps, greenlight and it now says the correct price of the game ($1)
Old OT was pretty....short.
Yeah, I would, but I'd bitch like you guys do about sprint. Just like I did before sprint was a thing in Halo. How each Halo game you felt like your Spartan was taking a walk in the park when in reality he/she's supposed to be able to run faster than most cars.

But, and here's the rub, I bet there are more people that bitch about removing sprint than those who would bitch about adding it. Especially after Reach and Halo 4, no?
See, are we going for realism or are we trying to make a fun Halo game? I mean a Spartan throwing a punch should be a one hit kill no? We take certain liberties with the realism to make a fun game. It's why there is no kick button. A Spartan should be able to punt a mongoose straight across the map no?
The reason sprint doesn't work with halo is because the game wasn't built around it. It doesn't work with classic maps. Imagine playing the Pit with sprint. We've seen just how badly Ragnarok plays with sprint as opposed to without. Most people just run and hide or you can sprint nonstop from your base quicker than a warthog can drive to the hill.
But you're right, something has to give. I only question why sprint could not be toggled on/off for custom games?

He did jump to a little bit of a conclusion, but he has a point no?
I mean you are adamant on the non-removal of sprint simply because you feel awkward walking around the map. As if it was a chore to play Halo 1-3, perhaps the best games this series will ever have.
If sprint needs to stay, it should be a guaranteed ability, but an armor ability and there should be a toggle on/off feature for custom games at the very least without having to mod.
I think adding in an animation even though base speed hasn't increased is even more ridiculous. You will add in a random element which changes nothing about the game play except to make your screen shake as if you are running.
I think a lot of you are used to Call of Duty and Mirrors Edge type sprint and think it's needed in Halo when it never was.
Wait, what? I might have to buy this.
Yep its been $1 for a few months now since its in beta, they wanted to keep it at $3 but they were not making too much money off of it that way.Wait, wasn't it 240MSP?
Who here still plays this? Interested in picking it up.
